Ok, 30 year veteran of the Heating and Air Conditioning industry here and I can't let your comment about keeping it level because of the Freon slide. It has nothing to do with the Freon. It has to do with the oil in the compressor. If it is at an extreme angle for extended periods of time the oil will drain out of the compressor to elsewhere in the unit and if you do not turn it back upright long enough for the oil to drain back into the compressor before running it, bad things will happen to the compressor. It would be the same result as running your truck without any oil in the engine. I wouldn't worry about that happening due to driving over rough terrain, I would just avoid storing or transporting it on its side.
Looks like a promising product though. Is it possible to run it while the battery is connected to a charging source?

@@AdventureBuilt I found a DIY cable under accessories on their website that should work nicely to power the unit. You just need a 24V power supply that is capable of supplying 240W.

Thanks for the review! I have owned one of these for over a year now and got my OGT Expedition 2.0 built specifically to support the ZB Mk2. My experience has been that it will run 6 hours on Sleep mode (1/2 power usage) and keep my cabin between 74 and 76 degrees and then I turn on my fan to maintain the temps at 5am-ish. I live in Texas where (at the moment) it's be well over 100 degrees in the day and low 80s a night. I opted for the second battery (which I recommend you do) to have 2 nights of AC for my trips. As an aside, when you keep the front hose off, you can see the thermostat. Putting it on obstructs the view, even though it allows you to direct the colder air. All in, I HIGHLY recommend these for anyone who camps in the South.

Ive got the early generation of the zero breeze and have used it in a RTT. The first gens dont have a battery pack but I have run it off a goal Zero or just a spare agm battery and gotten over 6 hours . One thing to note is that if you accidentally put it on its side and dont wait a few hours after uprighting it before starting it up it could die for ever. I mostly use mine now to keep my Dog in her kennel cool if im out of the truck shopping or something and she in a hot truck. works like a charm !

I think I’ll be getting one next summer. I’m investing in a insulation kit for my ikamper for winter and I think I can use it in the summer to keep the cold in when I’m using the a/c.
Did you ever get around to getting pairing up the insulation kit and a/c? If so how did it hold up?
We’ve been using ours in our patriot x3 camper trailer all summer. It’s really easy and it works! Our camper has a canvas pop up style tent so i was worried it wouldn’t hold the cold air in but it does. It gets so cold that we have to turn it down or off completely in the middle of the night. It’s expensive but very well worth it for the summer.
The only issue i have is that i keep it outside of the trailer because it sweats a little…and in doing so, i can’t use the remote. So i have to go outside to change the settings which is annoying.
I did notice a little condensation around the mattress but it wasn’t bad. There is a drain hose but I forgot to plug it in. It’s pretty cool. Hahaha.
I COOL my Roofnest RTT with a window A/C Unit connected to a Dual Fuel Generator that is positioned 30 yards away. I do not have to worry about it shutting off because my generator runs 13 hours. I custom made my A/C vent to connect to an aluminum dryer hose that I run into my tent window.

Nice , you have a truck bed , buy Portable AC on the wheels , and one generator , put AC and run the pipe to your tent and Boom Shaka Laka .

Great review! I'm on the fence getting one only because of the short cooling time it provides, have you done any research by adding a 54Ah or 100Ah deep cycle battery to add a longer run time??

Yes this would be my solution to its shortcomings, run/charge it off an inverter and deep cycle vehicle battery for all night comfort.

Could you mount this under the tent and just use the hoses to route to the tent? Could make custom points of entry for the hoses so they could just stay there perhaps. If so, that'd fix the space issue and perhaps allow easier access to add-on battery power.
Yes. This is how i use mine. Outside of the tent with just the one cold air tube pumping air into the tent. I zip the tent around the tube and then fill in any gaps with small socks.
You definitely could and that was my initial plan. I was going to place it outside the tent on the roof rack but for the video I needed to have it close by to track the temps. I was also worried that I would lose coolness on the way into the tent. Worth a try.
I have been looking at this one and another's brand offering, but too pricey at the moment. I'm considering for low elevation where is hotter in late spring and throughout summer. I'm curious to know where he camps in the summer. The mountains around me may have temps in the low 90s at the hottest time of the day. Most temp will drop to high 60s and if it monsoon season the temps are even lower.
Yea that is Arizona for you. The high temps in Crown King are in the mid 90’s and dips down into the high 70’s but doesn’t feel like it.
Good idea, but it needs longer battery life. If I want to get in 8 hrs, its at best going last maybe 1/2 that time.
you can get extra batteries as needed , they are expensive
$1500 for 3-4 hours seems high but 🤷♂️. How about charging it when on the trail?

if you reverse the hoses , i men keep the 2 exhaust hoses in the tent and direct the cool air hose out the tent is will become a heater
Now try it in 85 + temps during the day and 70-75 at night with high humidity. That unit would struggle to bring temps below 75 inside a tent. Nice advertisement though
if you want ac, buy a camper or stay in a hotel....camping is all about roughing it...stay home if u can't deal with it

@@AdventureBuilt hahaha, I like camping a lot and it is very nice to sleep well, in hot days a little of luxury is glorious, people just don't get it, I used to be a camper warrior, nowadays, depending on the forecast, i can take the Brezze or diesel heater without overthinking.
nahh , i bring as much comfort to my camping trips as i can so on my camping gear i have ZB mark 2 ,Coleman stove , Coleman Oven , portable toilet , on demand pump with 7 gal of water , etc etc
I live full time in my roof top tent so a little comfort is good.
you like to get sweaty and cant afford an ac we get it.
2 grand with the battery, and 3.5 hours of run town, that’s completely trash.

At over $1000 I’ll invest in something more useful
