I LOVE my Claymore fan. I bought it at Overland Expo PNW where it was about a billion degrees, and it was a life saver.
It's so smooth and quiet..used a ton already and it's only March lol.

@@chairborne33you should check out Nitecore knock off. I have both, I wanted the Claymore after buying it for my lady. I got the Notecore to hold me over and fell in love with it. The Nitecore is 30 instead of 80. Works just as well and has a ring light. The tripod on the Claymore is better but the Nitecore has a universal tripod screw so you can replace it with a better tripod, or buy a camera clamp attachment. Now it clamps on everything. I also added a MagSafe magnet to the front. I can watch movies while car camping. The fan cools me and the phone. 😂.
Will, Thanks for the hot tip on the Fanttik tire inflator/ power station. This is exactly what I needed for my Bronco Heritage Two-door as space is limited and I now have a way to inflate the tires quickly. This thing is a monster and well worth the $200 price tag. It's a really clever design.
My son uses that Noco jump starter, and he loves it. He uses it in his tow truck and charges it while he's driving from jump to jump. He even uses it when he fires up his big Cummins truck when it has a dead battery. If you can start a cold Cummins with a dead battery in the friggid winter mornings, it's worth every penny.

I enjoy the Snow Peak stainless folding pour over coffee maker. folds flat, with a few spare filters in a ziploc and it takes almost zero space.

Claymore fan is the best, I use it for starting fires and night time sleeping. I Love my Ultra 2 light never have to recharge this one on a week trip.
I never thought about using it to fan the fire. Great idea.

My FSR tent came with the plastic lawnmower, wingnuts for mounting hardware, but I also use those to make my own traction board mounts for my roof rack that isn’t compatible with any other system

I'm a big fan of Claymore camp lights-I actually have four of them. They could have really benefited from including a magnetic handle for mounting on vehicles, but I managed to work around that with a DIY solution.
I agree on the lack of mag mounts…but a little mag tape works great.
The Noco battery jumper is awesome
Agree it’s my fav.
We have the Noco I believe it’s a 50 or 55, we’ve been using it daily for over a year twice a day, sometimes four times a day to start and move my adventure buddies mostly disabled vehicle. We also have used it as a battery bank for charging phones. It just works and continues to work. We typically get a weeks worth of jumps out of ours.

I almost bought one of those fans at Overland correction, it was expo PNW ; you were there; I saw you. you know exactly how hot it was. I left early because it was 115° inside my trailer.
It was ridiculously hot in Bend last year!!
Just a tip for the Aeropress. Try using the upside down method. it makes less mess and drips. all you have to do is leave the plunger in and make your coffee putting the filter on last.
Love it. My buddy Chris makes his that way. I'll do a 5-10 min video just on the aeropress an cover all the ways to make coffee with it..I love that thing so much!

NOCO jump packs are the best. ive got the gb70 (2000amp) and it will start my jeep 33 times in a row on one charge without even having a battery in in the jeep. it did get pretty hot however lol

I use that same Noco jump box regularly as I’m a VW tech. I can gladly say it can jump a V10 TDI with a dead dead battery. That thing is a beast!

If you want really good espresso and want it to be camp friendly, if your budget allows, there is nothing better than the flair espresso maker. Uses no power, uses very little water(basically enough for a shot) and is decently compact. It does require a decent hand grinder so there is more to it than the aeropress for sure but if you want to step up your game, the flair gives you barista quality espresso in a tiny powerless foot print. You can add a bellman milk steamer that uses your stove or camp fire to create steam and you are making restaurant grade latte's and cappuccinos. It's my setup and I'm the bell of the ball every morning at camp.

You have an in control presentation - channeling Brad at Trailrecon? And you are organized. Noco Jump starters, I've used Gooloo 4K amp units for years & appreciate the product. Fanttik Inflator - nifty - I have a Viair system & also a four tube system, both run via vehicle battery. A quick, efficient and reliable unit- the product you suggest or others? Tree straps, come in various sizes & traditionally they serve as anchors or re-directs off a recovery ring. An attach point for a vehicle is also is also an option. Chainsaw, I have two at home, but have yet to take one on the road in overland trips. If I shifted directions & headed to mountains in the Intermountain or Pacific NW, I'd likely bring it along, with extra rain gear and other vehicles. Thanks again for an interesting product guide.

Big fan of that fan! I use it mostly for stoking fires. Keeps the fire burning hot so there's less smoke.
Claymore lights are awesome, but I used my red ultra2 as a trouble light and got brake cleaner on it... the plastic parts of the handle disintegrated IMMEDIATELY, and the lens cracked! So don't do that! It still works fine, but doesn't have a handle. Hoping for a sale at BCOR :)
Also second the NOCO! I had a GB40 which saved me and others many times! I upgraded to a GBX75 to have more oomph.
Shorty strap FTW! I carry one, too, but didn't know the velcro strap trick! Very cool since I have stock hooks, and Closed System Winching Anxiety™

But its my aeropress that goes with me, literally everywhere... Touring, flying, everywhere...
Barista world champions recommend them for travel, awesome invention.

@@JeffCleverley I have, but I prefer the top down approach...it's easier for me to get a good air pocket that way. Plus it's the way I learned when I started so it's just muscle memory at this point. My buddy Chris uses the inverted method and likes it. I'm going to make a video just on the aeropress and show different ways to make coffee with it.

I use a Garmin inReach mini. Had it for years..I use it on every trip and it works great.
Does the compressor burning hot like the smittybilt where you have to let it cool off before putting it back?
No. It's vented and gets warm, but not hot.
@@Venture2Roam you mentioned it filled 38s. Did it have to cool down at any point or was able to do all 4 tires without a break? (Other than moving the hose of course)
I did 37s from 10psi to 35psi all 4 tires no breaks. Put it right back in cargo area without fear of a fire!!!.

You live in Boise (Treasure Valley, anyway), Dawson Taylor downtown has instant coffee packets and they are actually REALLY good. Not good for instant coffee, just good. You should definitely check them out! Another Idaho company.
I love Dawson Taylor…I go to the roastery on Lusk to get pour overs all the time. I’ll look at their instant packs…typically that type of coffee isn’t strong enough for me, but I’m happy to give them a try. Thanks for the tip!!

I’m not sure…it’s pretty long. We didn’t pack it that way.

@@chairborne33 I don't think it would work on a slide unless the slide was really high up. I couldn't get it in the back seat of my JLU, but might have been able to if I removed the limiting straps on the door.

I have one. They are fantastic, but sometimes don't fit between the rack and the tent...but if you can use one of these, they do make your life much easier.

I'm not sure you can credit Bluetti with pushing an envelope or innovating when it was ecoflow that first put a removable batter AND ice maker in a 12v fridge...

I get your point, but Bluetti isn’t a sponsor, I didn’t say they were first. But you don’t have to be first to push the envelope. The swappable battery cells is novel in this space. And to be honest fridge tech sucks in general…we pay a ton of money for something many don’t use very often..so expanding the usability via battery power and portability should be noted IMO. I’d love to do a side by side comparison of the ecoflow and Bluetti…both should be celebrated as innovations IMO.

When companies innovate (ecoflow) and others expand on those innovations (Bluetti) that competition is good for us. I have zero problem with you assessment on who was first...or who had the first true innovation...but I don't think the the Bluetti is a copy and paste either...we win either way because we have more options to choose from and they push each other to keep differentiating, which will hopefully lead to better tech at a more affordable price! Also - I really appreciate the dialogue via comments, you make good points in a respectful way...thanks for that!
@@Venture2Roam I wanted to tone it down further, but the Chinese GFW stops comment editing on the app somehow when using a VPN, was concerned it was too frank/accusatory.
Valid points, these three companies Iceco, Ecoflow and Bluetti are all pushing each other in their domestic market over here, and to be honest it would be difficult to know which copied which during product development.
My main concern is a few channels, peer channels, have had/are having some trouble with that balance between sponsorship - both existing and attracting new - and content... Sometimes to the detriment of content imo...
I've watched your channel grow, having gotten in to the hobby at the same time, so watching you grow in experience and knowledge has sorta helped me overcome (solo mostly in mountains of China) and also make the right (safe) choices at the right times.
That's to say, I'm invested in your channel and wish you continuing success in the future.

Love your content but…. If you dont have a recovery point then there are no recovery point! Adding a strap is definitely not recommended and pulling from an axle is not recommended.
That is a dangerous piece of kit that should not be used. Sorry!
I also dont recommend velcro on poly or nylon. Great idea for securing on open hooks but many things can do the same. Try ski straps for gear.
Glad you are liking the content. Thanks for sharing your perspective on recovery. I’m no expert, but I do think guys at F55 are. You should have a convo with them about it..maybe there’s some missing info that would help? The nice thing about those Velcro straps is that they are already in the bag…but I didn’t mean to infer they were a recovery strap..just a multi purpose Velcro strap.
@@Venture2Roam Factory 55 is out to make money. I would not recommend any beginner or novice utilizing that mini strap (3’). Would talk with them anytime… If you dont have an attachment point (preferably multiple) to the frame then you dont have a recovery point. Going to the axle or suspension you will most likely damage parts or worse.
As for the velcro strap the velcro will prematurely wear your synthetic products, I know quite a few manufacturers who ad these and using them to secure an open system like hook is a good idea. A ski strap would work better and not degrade your synthetic products.

@@greatwhitenorthoverland7356 I think I said Axle or Frame..I probably should have just said frame. In the use cases I went through with Justin at F55, we used the frame with the shorty strap. In my mind I think, recovery points (smooth edges preferred), then frame, then axle. The shorty is great for getting a center pull spot on the frame even when there might be abrasive edges from a steel bumper overhang. There are DEFINITELY companies putting recovery stuff out there just to make money...BUT I don't think F55 is doing that. They are leading the industry in safety IMO. So glad you are liking the channel..I appreciate a good comment dialogue like this one!
With 30 years of experience recovering vehicles, attaching to the axle is not preferred but sometimes necessary to get the axle/tire to come over an object when the suspension wants to droop and go under the object that is stopping the recovery. Granted you need to be mindful of the kind of strain you are applying and make sure the strap is clear of brake lines and other objects attached to the axle. That being said a solid point on the frame is always preferable.
The velcro strap is not taking any load, it is just to keep a strap in place so it doesn't slide off a open ended recovery point.

It’s a Husky work table I got at the Home Depot. Love it. Use it on all my projects and now in my videos lol.
