Hey guys! FYI... Our existing AC (12v ProAir Undermount) works great in our van, but there are times when it has needed repair and it's not super easy to find a repair guy down here in Central America! Also, if it's super hot and muggy (like when we cano in the jungles of Panama) we need to have 95% batteries when we go to bed to be able to run the AC while we sleep... It's rare that we find ourselves in this type of harsh environment, but when we do it is nice to know that we have the ZeroBreeze as a supplemental AC.
I have one. The biggest problem with them is that people don't realize how little 2000BTU is. People try to use them as a replacement for an RV air conditioner and a car a/c in the day. RV air conditioners are 12,000BTU or more. Automotive built in A/c are around 24,000 at idle and up to 40,000 BTU on the highway. One bad thing, it absolutely should of come with a thermostat. The idea of it is to use it with a limited portable power source. You should be able to set it to a temp and then it idle down and save energy. It should absolutely have a filter. It doesn't drain well unless it is at an angle. I use mine camping in the back of a SUV at night and it works well. There is nothing else on the market that would work for my application. It is a 24v unit and I run it directly off a 24V power bank I have for maximum efficiency.
So is it safe to safe that the ideal use for this may be in day a 4x8 teardrop trailer with insulation? Seems like that’s the optimal use for these and everything else is quite a compromise for its cost.

I've been waiting for you guys to talk more about this! Looks like it would be perfect to keep my dog comfortable in my pop-up truck camper with the top down. The space probably isn't any bigger than your bed area (6.5 feet by 4 feet by 4 feet). As it is, we can't leave the dog in the camper for a couple hours to go to dinner in the city.
This is exactly why I need one, to keep my pup in my converted SUV camper while I paddle board or run errands, etc. without forever leaving my car running like I am now. Not to mention on the HOT Texas nights when I still want to camp!
Good to hear. I seem to remember the Mk 1 version of the Zero Breeze didn't get great reviews. One question for Curt - with some of the new 12V roof A/C units on the market, would you still go with your current system?
I have one in my apartment room. I needed it because the air conditioning unit is in my living room…🤦🏽♀️ room designers be silly… placed a fan in front of it and have the ceiling fan running. Made the room livable in the recent CA heatwave. Definitely worth it for me.
Thanks great for camping, boating etc. I've seen a video where the person forgot to build a way to cool their solar set up beyond a simple fan. Also cooling the garage or pet crate .
To expand on the usage a little more .. if a van had a 24vdc or 48vdc system, the ZB could be hard wired without figiting with power source ? Also , a followup when are in more forgiving ambient temps would be interesting to see if it keeps up with cooling the entire van. What was the BTU output ?
I think you could hard wire it, but we don't know the details. I think in more ambient temps, it may cool down a 140... But I don't think it could keep up with our 170extended. As for btu's... This is Snow, so I don't know the techy stuff... But the link in our video description will take you to a webpage with lots of helpful info!
Thanks guys! Did the piece you placed in your window to hold the intake and output hoses come with it, or was that more of Curt’s build genius? I don’t have a camper van but adapt my passenger van for 14 hour trips 2X a year & this looks helpful. Do you think a 5 gal bucket would hold enough water from the condensation? Also, I have meant to say Snow you look awesome in red and you’re looking great, congrats on your weight loss! Thanks guys, I always enjoy the ride along 🙂
It comes with a large piece of thick black foam with the holes pre-cut. You cut the foam to fit your opening. Then buy two dryer vent covers to put on the outside of the holes. Works great!
Thanks for sharing your experience and opinions. I was curious how well it would work. Love the portability. I think it would work in my box truck set up. I have one I bought for my home when my AC went out. It's uses too much power to take with me unless I'm plugged in, which is not my goal. This could be a good option since the ac/heater in my truck runs off the generator. too noisy. Thanks for sharing. Congrats on the first of hopefully many sponsorships as you have a lot of subscribers and can be counted on to 'tell it like it is'.
I would like to see a true test of temperature change in your van even if it is just your sleeping area. How many degrees does it drop in the Central American weather?
In our case, because we have the main AC and the kitties in the van, our inside temp never gets too hot. And because of the kitties, we won't let the van get as hot as it would without the second ac. But, our best guess if the van was 95-100 degrees and we closed off the bedroom... This AC could easily get it down to 80-85 within 30 minutes or so, then you could put it on sleep mode (auto turns on and off) to preserve your battery life. Sorry we can't do the full test you want... But kitties come first! 😊
You could view travel snacks video, she was in 100+ heat and had to build a fort over the bed to get some semblance of relief using this device. She followed up when temperatures decreased at night.
a piece of large black foam with two precut holes comes with the unit. You can cut it to fit your opening. Then we picked up two drier vent covers that fit perfectly into the precut holes. For a permanent set up, I think I would use the foam as a template and have something more secure made, but it works for using it here and there.

If it were in the range of a standard window unit it might be worth considering but even then I doubt it will cool a very big space. In fact I have yet to see a BTU rating for it which seems a bit suspicious.
Our review clearly states it won't cool the whole van, but it will cool our bedroom area. That's useful if you are down here in a rain forest that stays 90 degrees overnight 😳😁
It’s 2300. But like anything like this. Your paying for the size/weight an convenience. That’s what the price is for. Otherwise otherwise you can get a window unit that doubles the btu’s for $250 But I’ve used it with a 4 person single wall tent. But knowing the limitations. I pitch the tent. Have a pretty light weight blanket over the tent for any additional insulation value. Than ouch the fly over it. To make an insulated wall/roof on the tent. Than pitch a 8x8 or 10x10 tarp by the 4 corners above the tent by a foot or two. Just to keep direct sun from beating the hell out of it. If you know the limitations. An work with the limitations it works great.

If someone were ever inclined to do so. They could open that little unit up if they had a different housing to put it into. Add more to the exchanger coils on the evap an condenser. With more air flow to it. And recharge the system refrigerant for the new size of it. They could increase their btu rating I’m sure. Just the matter of the know how. And having a portable enough sized housing for it.
Not sure since we did not try it that way. But, if you go to the link in our video description for ZeroBreeze it will take you to a page with lots of info that may answer your question!
From what he said it runs for around 3 hours on 35ah battery so it pulls around 9-10 amps per hour at 24v So a standard agm 100ah battery that you wouldn’t want to pull much below 60% would run it for 6 - 7 hours on full. Lithium batteries you can pull down to almost 90% so a 100ah lipo would run it for 9 - 10 hours. Assuming you are running 24v dc If using inverter and running it 110v or my case in Australia 240v there is inverter loss of efficiency and the inverter fans also pulling down the battery. But you have to consider charging the batteries, decent solar and mppt controller needed + decent sun or dc-dc charger when driving. Hope this helps! Cheers
Does that window vent come with the unit. I'll be doing car camping. Heat is one thing I'm worried about for sleeping. Sometimes I get electric at state parks. How do you think this would with a car. My kitty travels with me.
It comes with a thick foam piece with two holes for the vents... You cut the foam piece to fit your window opening. Then we bought two drier vent covers from the hardware store and attached it to the foam cut out. The drier vents fir perfect and keep bugs out! I think it'd be great for a car, but the set up will take a few minutes!
We keep it for emergencies because of our kitties. But, we have a larger AC installed in our van. This AC will work in a SMALL space for 3-5 hours before it needs to be charged. So, if you can section your small van... then it would keep a portion of the van cool!
I don't believe being under cold air flow and or playing with temperature is healthy. Moderate temperature and noise control is among what I appreciate the most by being back home...
I just scanned their website and it looks like they ship internationally. You can learn more from the link in our video description --- or click here: shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=1230413&u=2933603&m=81964&urllink=&afftrack=
Yes it would! Just remember it won't cool the whole van, so it'd be really good if you can partition of the camper/van .. or if your fur babes are crated. I'm sure we will use it for that at some point with our kitties!
Sorry, we don't do these often, in fact it's our first one. We've shown the unit in a few of our travel episodes and we were getting TONS of questions about it. So, we did the review and released it on a Monday... Not on our travel release days (Wednesday and Saturday). Again, sorry to have hit ya wrong on this one! We will see you on Wednesday back out on the road traveling!
We highly considering one of these but the $$ and nor being for sale on Amazon are not helping. Is there anything else any good that could be better or cheaper. Our 4 wheel hawk couldn't have ac if we got the indoor shower
@@SnowAndCurt if the AC unit didn't do this, it wouldn't work. That's my point. It's not a "nice bonus" that my van has a windshield, wipers or even washer nozzles. Those are essential. It's a nice bonus that the washer nozzles are mounted to the arms and thus do an outstanding job of spraying washer fluid in right places at any speed.
It's been so long now since your "review" that you no longer owe them anything. So we can all be brutally honest. It's LOUD, expensive, heavy and unhandy, it only lasts 3-4 hours on a charged battery, it's leaves a mess for you to clean up and it barely cools.
Question, how in the world can you pull in cool air from the outside, if the outside air is (HOT), your circulating HOT air into the unit, that makes no sense. You cannot cool the back of the unit hot air if the outside ambient air is hot. I do not care what zero Breeze says, that is impossible, you are working against thermodynamics natural ambient air Outdoors. And to sit it on a table outside and have cold air blowing on you that makes no sense either. You're wasting your battery. And you are drawing hot air in at the bottom of the front trying to push hot and cold out at the same time, that too, is defeating the purpose of the Zero Breeze. Don't get me wrong what they have created is a great idea but, how you are using it is a terrible idea, and defeating the purpose of what the unit can do, at its maximum Peak, at high efficiency. They have forgot that hot and cold air cannot mix in the same breath. Hot air rises, cold air is heavy, there is no way you can use that unit properly without taking those situations consideration. I'm very disappointed in the company by not using Common Sense on how to even use its own product. I can see that unit is very well built very well design oh, but they have no idea on how to use it efficiently, so that it can put out the best amount of cool air in small spaces or closed in spaces. One more thing about the zero Breeze the only thing I can think of form them, for you to have two vent ducts in the back of the unit, is because they need to get rid of the heat buildup from the compressor and the exchanger, so they need a way to circulate air into the back of the unit, but, remember you are not pulling in cold air, you are pulling in hot air and expelling the hot air out all, what you're doing is circulating air into the back of the unit that's all you doing. In reality they want you to get rid of (Hot Stagnant Air Buildup in the back of the unit), that's all it's doing.

And recharge the system refrigerant for the new size of it. They could increase their btu rating I’m sure.
Just the matter of the know how. And having a portable enough sized housing for it.
Eco flow wave sounds like ac you might want …it also vaporizes the humidity to a point …4000 btu
That looks like Playa Venao
Edit haha I just saw the coffee shop sign. Wow! You shoulda seem it 10 years ago! 3 hostels and beach break!!!
It's growing like crazy!
How long do u think this could run if you plugged it into a bigger battery, like a Bluetti or a Jackery?
Not sure since we did not try it that way. But, if you go to the link in our video description for ZeroBreeze it will take you to a page with lots of info that may answer your question!
@@SnowAndCurt that is super helpful! Thanks guys 🥰 Love your channel, been watching since the beginning, big fan.
From what he said it runs for around 3 hours on 35ah battery so it pulls around 9-10 amps per hour at 24v
So a standard agm 100ah battery that you wouldn’t want to pull much below 60% would run it for 6 - 7 hours on full.
Lithium batteries you can pull down to almost 90% so a 100ah lipo would run it for 9 - 10 hours. Assuming you are running 24v dc
If using inverter and running it 110v or my case in Australia 240v there is inverter loss of efficiency and the inverter fans also pulling down the battery.
But you have to consider charging the batteries, decent solar and mppt controller needed + decent sun or dc-dc charger when driving.
Hope this helps!
Cheers
I heard that, Viesa is the perfect ac for a van.
@@SnowAndCurt great reply! Great information. I am keeping this on my list. This may be the answer to going full time.
Interesting technology. 3-4 hours? Would need a second battery to get through the night.
On sleep mode, it'll last 6-9 hrs.
I am looking for a air conditioner for my soon to be small van! Are you still using this product? Are you happy with it?
Thank you!
We keep it for emergencies because of our kitties. But, we have a larger AC installed in our van. This AC will work in a SMALL space for 3-5 hours before it needs to be charged. So, if you can section your small van... then it would keep a portion of the van cool!
How do you charge the batteries for it?
It plugs into a 110 outlet.
I don't believe being under cold air flow and or playing with temperature is healthy. Moderate temperature and noise control is among what I appreciate the most by being back home...
Snow your black hair and that blue color is your colors girl so beautiful 🤩
Can you run it off your solar panels
Yes.
I would like to have it in my house as extra in some rooms because, will it be available in Europe?
I just scanned their website and it looks like they ship internationally. You can learn more from the link in our video description --- or click here: shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=1230413&u=2933603&m=81964&urllink=&afftrack=
@@SnowAndCurt thx
i contacted them and they said they only ship from china that means when there is a problem you have nobody close to you
❣️✌️✌️❣️
If you need a larger model, try a stand up from home depot
could work
I hooked up a 5000 btu window ac in my van and ran it off a small gas generator. It sucked. U will need at least 10k btu for a van.
Would it be good for people who travel with pets and leave pets inside their vans for a few hours?
Yes it would! Just remember it won't cool the whole van, so it'd be really good if you can partition of the camper/van .. or if your fur babes are crated. I'm sure we will use it for that at some point with our kitties!
@@SnowAndCurt okay, thanks!!
I'm sure the pets would sleep right next to it 😸
Snow, you look so beautiful…!
I think a generator and real ac is a better option. Unless maube you live in like Canada
I'm a subscriber and enjoy watching all of your videos, I just wasn't expecting to watch an infomercial. Sorry, this is my brutally honest review 😞
Bought one and found out your better off puttin ice cubes in your pockets
Pulling water out of the air isn't "a nice bonus". Dehumidification is an essential part of the refrigeration process.
If you live in a van ... You are always fighting moisture, so in this case, it is a nice bonus... At least for us 😊
@@SnowAndCurt if the AC unit didn't do this, it wouldn't work. That's my point.
It's not a "nice bonus" that my van has a windshield, wipers or even washer nozzles. Those are essential. It's a nice bonus that the washer nozzles are mounted to the arms and thus do an outstanding job of spraying washer fluid in right places at any speed.
It is called "air conditioning" for a reason. lol
There are no honest reviews on "sponsored" reviews. Sorry, I understand that you have to do it! Keep going through the world, I'll keep following you!
Looks more like a commercial for zero breeze
You have got to have good air conditioning and heat for the two babies. We’re not really worried about the two of you. It’s all about the babies.🤣
Expensive, awkward, with modest results.
Go outside in the shade, or change your elevation. 12 volt fans work well.
Even talking nice things about it, it looks like it takes to much work, space and looks inconvenient.
It's been so long now since your "review" that you no longer owe them anything. So we can all be brutally honest. It's LOUD, expensive, heavy and unhandy, it only lasts 3-4 hours on a charged battery, it's leaves a mess for you to clean up and it barely cools.
It's that your professional opinion.. did you buy one... summer is coming... you just saved me some money
I would have thought that you would have left it for the cats rather than taking it to the beach. I personally think of my animals comfort first
The van has a built in AC that is always set at a temperature to keep our kitties comfy! Kitties come first in our van too!
You lost me when I saw how horrible it looks out the window
How can you give an honest review when they are sponsoring your video…
I never know if it’s for real wen they sponsor you just don’t make it real sorry
It's cooling the refrigerant.
How's that travel going with six to eight dollar gas? Thanks to all you Biden voters out there.
