How're you feeling after this routine? Are you interested in adding crawling to your practice? Let us know your thoughts below.
Yes! It is a really good exercise.
Delicious. Putting them all together at the end was great. Any suggestions on getting my heels on the floor during bear crawl other than working on my hamstrings?
@@annertman3906 Do it everyday and I bet you'll see them become closer and closer :)
Do you have a crawling, flow membership not mixed with strength? Thank you for your channel.
I love it! I'm incorporating it in my children's yoga and movement classes and my preschoolers love it, too! I'd love to learn more! Much gratitude 🙏🏾✨
My cat was really scared to see me do these exercises.
😂😂😂😂😂
I started animal flow about 2 weeks ago. I am amazed at how much better I feel. I am hooked! I am excited to compare how I feel in 6 months to now! Thank you for all your input!! Please keep sharing ❤
How many days a week do you do it and do you incorporate strength training as well??
6 months have passed - how do you feel now?
I've been listening to an interview with Dr. Bessel Van der Kolk and he speaks about how things like yoga, Tai chi and chi gong can be very therapeutic for people who suffer trauma because it can get them back in touch with their bodies. I feel like these movements could also do the same.
Absolutely - I actually never crawled as a baby & went through a lot of childhood trauma, so I have a lot of 'catch up' to do that other people may take for granted as a part of 'normal' development.
I've also found TRE exercises to be immensely helpful for someone who 'seems' physically healthy but is actually quite weak. Just sharing for anyone else familiar with Van der Kolk & reaching a wall with talk therapy for C-PTSD etc.
First time doing this and already my posture feels incredible. Now I truly appreciate every time i see my 3 yr old playing around like this. Next time I'm joining in!!
❤
Great video, thanks! I am 59 with BMI 31 (said enough, lol). Decided to start exercising again after a decade hiatus. Couldn’t do crab crawl, but stayed stationary in the “crab position”, and didn’t go for a combo crawl for the first day. Feels amazing! I really hope that will help me to get back on track with my fitness. Thanks!
Wow my back feels great and so do my shoulders. I do traditional stretching 5 times a day since I am a PE teacher. Yet, my neck and shoulders have been so tight. My shoulder and neck finally feel better. Thank you! Heidi
Yes king! Been crawling for a little while now and absolutely love that it's as challenging and anabolic as a pushup, while being fun, functional..(FUNctional?), mobile, holistic and just super healthy for joints, body and mind. This is the most accessible content I've seen for the newbie 🙌 and it's the perfect humbling antidote to the gym mentality some fall into. Stripping it right back to the first movements we ever learn in life, turns out we haven't finished learning that move yet 😉
This is maybe the best crawling animal flow type video I’ve seen. You break it down in a simple and easy to follow way. Awesome 🙏
Awesome Josh! So happy that you are putting crawling and all it’s benefits in front of so many people. 🙌🏾
Been hammering out content. Like the early upload. Your advice on crawling has helped me a ton over the years. I don't do it often enough
Excellent Tutorial. I really believe in the power of Crawling & yet still haven't regularly incorporated it into my routine. This video can act as a great tool for including crawling more often. Thank you
As a 240 big girl doing these makes me feel very powerful like a mama bear. Love the nerve flossing I get from the dynamic movement and the possible transitions into each position. Very good way to start the morning when static stretching doesn't feel possible, I even like it after warming up from working out. Mobility and flexibility are very important to me as I age will be checking more of this out .
I really enjoy your videos guiding me throw movement and giving me new inspiration for feeling my body and knowledge about my body. I am a yinyoga teacher in Berlin and to be an inspiration I also looking out for Inspiration. And seeing you loving your body, giving him and your soul what they needs, it’s so fulfilling! I want to say thank you for going your way and share that with the world!
I Just went to the gym yesterday -- and THIS easily beat it. I Can’t wait for the gym to offer crawling classes !! I will tell them about your videos & courses ! Bless!
This break-down was exciting thank you!
Love playing this on half speed to focus on my lax body. Great intro into crawling, thank you!
Thanks for this!
It's great to have such a simple introduction into getting to move more naturally.
Felt great!
thank you for your time! i will get into what you just explained soon! all the best,
fabio
Wow. Just doing the belly crawl and holding the reach position feels so good. These are not easy for me to do, but they feel great! Thank you for making this easy to follow video ❤
Excellent video. Thank you for placing all the basic movements into a routine and demonstrating the movements and explaining the effects.
thanks for the support!
I find crawling and primal movements so much more enjoyable. It’s been far superior than all the regular working out I’ve done all these years. There’s little thinking involved, you work your entire body the way we’re supposed to and even if all you have is 2 minutes, you can quickly go down on the floor and get a lot out of it.
Good lord. This is what I instinctively started doing about six weeks ago. Sixty, unwell with several autoimmune things going on and just knew this was what I needed. Thank you! I’ve been walking multiple times a day and this was I felt I needed to do. I’ll be following and have just subscribed.
Just wish I could intetest my morbidly obese husband, but given I’ve been nagging for ten years, I expect to continue this journey alone.
Keep making the changes... soon he will see your improvements and want to follow along ...be inspiring to him
my mom is 60 & just started crawling too!! keep going - you'll inspire him (even if he doesn't tell you) and soooo many other people (including all the versions of yourself youre doing this for :) )
I agree with the others. “Lead by example.” I nagged my husband but nothing worked like seeing me get fitter. Now he’s on board-4 years later. But it did happen.
Good going! Do look into fasting and intermittent fasting to crush the autoimmune ails.
So grateful that I haven’t had a hip or knee replacements, and can probably do many of these . I feel bad for friends who I try to share stretches with when they tell me their range of motion has unfortunately been now restricted due to these “ replacements” which don’t have the same capability as the joints we were born with. I guess that sometimes one has to decide in terms of quality of life and extreme pain. I for see this technology getting much better over time so that folks can’t do unrestricted movement after replacement parts 🙏🏻
I’m an older person but never to late to start ❤going to give this a try thanks for posting a beginner video ❤will be following along with the video daily…..
Wow,wow, wow!! This is just amazing and different. Thank you.😍😍😍
I think you do a great job of explaining everything! Your videos have helped me tremendously. Thanks!
I have appreciated you over the years. Thanks for the dope vid and now I can crawl around the house with my son 🙏🏼
Hello there. I think its awesome that you offer a real foundational routine with a super warmup as well. Thanks so much- wanted to start, but wanted to start at the bottom -literally and figuratively. So, thanks for that. Following
This is the most enjoyable exercise I have ever tried
Top notch as always, Josh.
Thanks!
Love the fact you explain so well and how it's easy to understand(I'm french)Let's go for the second video
Thank you from future crawling mom 😏💪😉🙏
Love this. Hope I'm able to keep it going. Have very 'asymmetric' body due to pain in one hip this felt great as if it may help me balance out.
Awesome!!!!! Thank you!!!
Definitely need more of these
Awesome!!! My hip pain is gone!! Thank you!
This might be the greatest video on CZcams
Love it. Definitely give it a try
Nah there's no way you've just uploaded this while I was searching for animal flow workouts 💀

Happened to my friend Joe today
Glad to see I'm not the only one. Even when watching something unrelated a thing i was pondering point will be raised in the video or it will happen in the comment section. Too often and specific to be a coincidence. Even this comment being made kinda scared me because last night an almost impossible example of this gave me the chills. Not even 24 hours ago. 🤔
This is exactly what I needed.
First time today feels great and primal❤💪
Thank you so much : Beginnings I'm here. I'm so thankful
This chanel is golden props to y'all folks❤ gotta recommend to my fellow mates too
This is so good, thank you
Life changing. Fantastic video guys. I'm the big 50 next week and sore most mornings when I get out of bed. This looks exactly what I need to start doing, beginning today. Thanks for the videos and motivation.
I’ll be 50 Sept 4!!! Happy Birthday!
@yvettep1093 Me too.Happy birthday tomorrow. . Have a fabulous day.
Have u been doing it since u posted?
Trying to. Not managed every day and very stiff, but I'll hopefully get my flexibility back with effort and time.
@@darrenforrest6260 I’m sorry to hear you’re stiff, good luck my bro, keep going with the crawling if u can. I’m 41 and only just started to take my fitness seriously so I’m running into all kinds of issues as my body adapts to things I should’ve started years ago, I did about 20 mins slow crawling the simplest baby crawl last night and my shoulder is feeling loose and a bit better already.
Thank you thank you thank you and thank you 😊
Love it!
Thanks!
Man! Every time…. Great workouts. I get smoked every time I watch and follow along. Best time for me is after my morning walk. All warmed up and ready to do my Strength Side 😎👍
Love this one❤
Gosh, this crawling practice works well👍 its like climbing in the mountains😊
Just 4 crawls? It’s a bit more challenging than I thought. This is good stuff. I’ve got my home work for a while.
If you're a mechanic or have to work on machinery in a factory, this stuff is priceless. It's never easy to get into the correct position to reach or get proper torque on something.
Greets from germany 😊 you are big Inspiration for me 🙏
THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Amazing! I will train!
Reminds me of the brothers from the TV show Kratt Crestures brothers. Thank you.
This is a godsend for someone with scoliosis. I couldn’t manage the amphibian crawl but everything else is fantastic.
Wowzers. I’m a typical gym weight lifting person. I tried this entire video and my wrists are on fire. Lol. My shoulders feel it too. M going to do this perhaps twice a day for one week and see how I feel. Thanks so much for the info and instructions. Makes a load of sense. 👍😀
Thank you
I’m just starting and immediately I saw a difference my arms look great I’m more flexible 👏🏽👌🏾🔥🔥 and your my trainer🔥🔥🔥
For the past 6 years I would crawl often for short and for long periods of time on my hands and feet with my knees not touching the ground. Some times I would crawl randomly while I was cooking or on the way to go to the bathroom. Usually I would crawl for 5 to 30 minutes at a time, multiple times a day. I used it as my primary form of exercise and I got bored, played around with it and found lots of ways to crawl. I also like it because it's easy on my back. I don't know if it was because of the crawling because I'm 130 lbs and I was throwing around experienced guys bigger than me on my first few times doing jiu-jitsu.
Hey this is awsome!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉 love this
Pretty awesome, thanks!
Love it!❤
U have sold me. I will try it tmr morning 😊
i feel like i barely did anything and yet i was sweating and feeling it. mildly injured my tricep tendon a week ago because i push-up'ed a little too close to the sun and now i'm trying to find ways of engaging my upper body without making the tendon scream and i saw a short of yours talking about how crawling can be great for the whole body. this felt nice to do. 10/10 would do again
Sir me feeling gd after doing your exercise a bit as me having slip disc. Thanks 🙏❤😊
fast and fun, thnks!
Movement training +Rings= 🔥
Consistently best fitness content on CZcams. Thanks, Josh 🙏
Right on 😎
Saturday, September 9, 2023. I tried this -- well, I got some of it!
Thank you!! 🦕
I'm happy that I found this! 5 days in and it feels so good that I like to keep going 😅 Is it normal that the wrists hurt at the beginning?
Dead bug position...OMG funny and really challenging for a non- exercise person!!! Thank you for actually beginning at the beginning!!!
My body missed the memo that it knows these moves instinctively. 😂 Fabulous work out and after only 2 repetitions, I can feel the difference in my mobility.
This is a taxing routine and will take me awhile to accomplish but I will work on it
Cool video!! In the downward dog have you ever tried to touch your toes to your wrist? Doing this with a forward motion is not as easy as it sounds. (It's opposite of a crawling pattern but still fun to try.) You all have a good weekend
This just saved me. Thank you
Your beach routine looks to be Bandon,Oregon… I grew up there… thanks for the fitness ideas
Great video! Is this dangerous for people with back issues or scoliosis?
Hey yo . With the more use of cellphones. Some people literally grip hold on their phones allll day. The opposite i believe is when the hands let loose and spread open. Like when you have to crawl or hold weight of body on hands. Maybe you can go deeper into it... i say this because ive seen people qho only have phones in their hands all day. Hands tend to get tight on them first when they have panic attacks.
I was crawling on a concrete driveway 😬😂 but this was so much fun! I thought I would feel more tired after that yet my body just feels more awake and energetic. Definitely adding to my morning routine. Thank you! 🌻💛
feels good doing this. think this is good for scoliosis?
This is a great video! Thank you! Though, I am wondering why there was no body prep below the knees. I find that most folks I will train (especially those who are movement prep novices) have never warmed up their calves, ankles, and feet, ever.
Love this, but I have early arthritis in both thumb joints. Also my dominant shoulder is currently very sore from what looks like signs of arthritis, bursitis and tendonitis (had ultrasound yesterday, yet to discuss with doctor), I can't really weight-bear at the moment and some movements are very painful. Also have low back degenerative disc disease, hip labral tear and early arthritis. I don't want to give up and would love to be able to do this routine. I just tried some of it (gently) and my wrists feel sore, as well as my thumb joints and shoulder, but I can feel it would be a help for my stiff back and body...and it's fun. I'm in my mid-50s and I keep trying but am aware I have at least one faulty gene that is linked (or at least correlates) with a number of chronic health conditions (I have two of those, arthritis being one). Any advice other than giving up? Thank you.
I have arthritis in my thumb, and back issues and knee pain. I just simplified it and stuck to the crawling and the stretch he was doing at the beginning and now the more complex movements. Not too sure what’ll happen but I want to keep giving it a try. I’m 34 and don’t want to be constantly in pain so going to just see what happens. I hope it helps you too ❤
This was tuff but so good. I need more practice. Dead bug is the only one I can do well. LOL. I will keep practicing.
I play with children on the ground since 30 years....
(I am a speech therapist. (Well trained after 20 years of judo at national level and always do some strength training afterwards.)
I was in my mid-50s when I realized how strenuous 3-4 hours of exercise on the ground is when you weigh 150 pounds.
Parents who get down on the floor can usually hardly get up after 30 minutes. No matter how old they are.
Amazing but wanted to go on longer and my carpet won't allow! The crab was the most difficult and the old broken wrist - it's a winner for older people who want to remain flexible!
I feel like it's a good Workout.
YAY! 😄
Does anyone do this in Copenhagen?
Great video 🙏🏽
Hi! I am incorporating your crawling exercises into my workouts. I was a dancer and gymnast in my younger years. Have stayed active but now doing walks and weights. Now, at 66, working my body is more important than ever. However, how do I strengthen my wrists?? These crawling exercises challenge them. Yikes!
calinstethtic movement the youtube channel should have a wrist strengthen tutorial. 1-2x wk to 2x-3x after progress is typically good.
feels good, feels hood. feels right
Thanks guys. From Arturo Segui, Argentina. I am Tai chi animal, and find this very helpfull and complementary for the dayli warm up. (sorry about my bad writing, my spanish is better).
Whats your town? Thanks again.
Ive been crawling every day for 6 years. Glad your all catching up.
😅🤣
Intrigued to hear your overall experience with it?
@ethangriffiths7802 I would do it often for short and for long periods of time on my hands and feet with my knees not touching the ground. Some times I would crawl randomly while I was cooking or on the way to go to the bathroom. Usually I would crawl for 5 to 30 minutes at a time, multiple times a day. I can’t believe how loose my lower back feels after following this short routine. I do need to work on my wrist strength and flexibility though. Ouch!
What kind of floor should we use? Do we have to put special 'mattresses'?
My cat is looking at me weird😂
Haha, I wonder if your cat will eventually join you
