The tile is s beautiful, BUT, I don't think your floor is exactly level and the tile will crack. Plus it is so much work. The PVC is easy and will give a little insulation from the cold floor in the wintertime. It will look nice too.
Call him Ratouille! from the Disney movie. Also the easy planks are better for your laundry room. My son changed all of his pretty ceramic tiles for this wood looking product..it is very durable, easy to clean too.

Of course I'm with you Sara...LOVE the colorful tile the best although the planks Luca picked out are definitely more practical especially if you end up having to replace one or a few easily in the future due to any moisture or leaks. In America, many apartment communites have switched from carpet to those planks in the case of a leak they can just replace the slats they need to. Sooo lovely Luca to see you with your father and grand father :) God Bless!
You don’t even need to replace the pvc floor planks. You can pull them out and let the cement slab dry, then replace the original planks back where you removed them. They don’t absorb water, so no need to replace them.

You are so lucky to still have your grandfather at his age. Enjoy him and ask him to tell you stories about when he was young. I am blessed to still have my mother that will be 98 in December. I love watching you guys here. I hope the virus calms down so you can start traveling again. I just picked up a school bus and will be working on it while helping my mother. A recommendation...take pix of the wall before you enclose it with drywall...it will help if you ever need to know how the plumbing/electrical is set up

Best moments of my day today and really needed the lift. I've never seen the animal, the Dormouse. It looks like what we call a squirrel; a "mouse" in my world if taken literally does not have a fuzzy tail. You all work so hard, Luka is amazing to know how to do all that plumbing, electricity himself! I'm behind on your recent videos and need to catch up. I love the tile, but you may consider the PVC. You will finish faster which will get you out on the road faster for traveling.

To your question about whether to use tile or PVC: I definitely would recommend the PVC. Since it’s a laundry room and it’s quicker to install. And also easier to keep clean.IMO

Cute little critter.... Reminds me of the squirrels around my house here in the US. A few summers back I had raccoons in my garage. I live trapped 9 before it was over. We also have deer that come around the house. There were 2 fawns last week

PVC would be more practical & since it’s the utility room, that’s the route I would go. If it was up in the house, I would prefer tile.
We don’t have dormouse in America, at least I have never seen one. We have squirrels, but they are a bit bigger & we have 🐁 🐭 mice which are much smaller, but they are both destructive. Neither are protected, in fact, we have too many of each! You both are so kind, to put so much care & love into protecting the dormouse! I would consider tile because it is a laundry room where water could possibly overflow or leak onto the floor. Normally you wouldn't put wood flooring in a bathroom or a laundry room.

I watch you from America too. I wish I could be somewhere peaceful too. Like Lucky Land. America is not very good right now. Many won't wear a mask and follow safety guidelines for Covid 19. So, many sick people. I wish to escape. Your garden is beautiful. I agree with many others' on the floor, you are probably better to use the pvc so it doesn't crack from the floor shifting and so on. I think your dor mouse is what we call a squirrel. I have seen children's books about sleeping door mice. Your home is beautiful.

A dormouse is a rodent of the family Gliridae (this family is also variously called Myoxidae or Muscardinidae by different taxonomists). Dormice are nocturnal animals found in Africa, Asia, and Europe, and are particularly known for their long periods of hibernation.
As a contractor for 40 years... unless the PVC has anti microbial infused, and you seal the concrete with a membrane, I would still be reluctant to recommend, (black mold is the issue). I know it is more work but tile will be more durable and mold resistant. Use a anti crack membrane (Schluter system, German), first, then level the floor, set tile, grout, be sure to seal grout. This is the best for the eventual water leak that always happens. Always wonderful watching you guys!

I like the first colorful tile, who wants to be practical 😁. All that hard work you did you want to look at it and say “wow this is really nice”. So sweet the way you caught the little guy and released him in a safe area. You guys are wonderful!

Tile will last longer and in the long run will be easier to maintain
and the manufacture of PVC isn't environmentally friendly

So sweat seeing your family My wife Hazel had tears in her eyes seeing you all and the love you have for each other. Hazel says she likes the tiles but may be more work . I love seeing the garden, house renovations and the wild life. We say sleep like a baby or we say sleep like a log. I Brian think the PVC would be hard wearing , we have them here in New Zealand also. Love seeing the Italian food you show us . Still building van here.

The PVC flooring is fantastic, quick and easy to lay, very hard wearing, and some of it is quite lovely too. Also tends to be warmer underfoot which may be a plus in a basement which can be damp.
