@Finnmckenty - love your channel and in spirit of honest debate I must call you out on something. On Fat Mikes channel you said Slipknot are not cool because they are “typical nu metal”. And yet on your channel video you praised Slipknot for being pioneers by introducing blast beats in the mainstream and by incorporating death metal in their music, which set them apart from the nu metal pack.
Make up your mind and stance Finn - otherwise it appears to be a contradiction or worse still, it appears as if you opportunistically dither between opinions based on the situation.
I’m not saying either is the reality, I’m saying that’s how it appears.
You pride yourself on being honest, well that’s my honest opinion.
And doesn’t change my view of your channel, which still remains positive.

the amount of pussy choruses they ve been doing is generic and unnecesary bro... who wants a clean chorus in the middle of a heavy song? specially if its slipknot? stone sour affected slipknot way too much, Check the difference between the more Nu metal-ish Cleans in the first two albums with the Garbage Cleans he started to do on Vol.3 and forward inlfuenced by his Stone Sour proyect that started to gain fame in 2003

It’s annoying to me when someone says they are heavy again. I mean.. when were they not heavy? Solway Firth was super heavy in their previous album. As Slipknot has progressed over the years, they have had to consider other factors like being playable on the radio and reaching to more audience so they have incorporated more melodic components to their songs. Given all these circumstances, they have tried to balance who they are with the forces of the marketplace. Now that they are not obligated to Roadrunner, I’m curious where things will head!

It doesn't have to be like Iowa to sound good. Nero forte, Solway Firth, and plenty of other songs are just as heavy guitar tone wise and drumming wise, just with more melody and technicality which is something Iowa lacked. Iowa is my favorite album but it can still sound good without sounding like Iowa. Solway Firth is an example like I said where it's just as heavy but more technicality and in some parts have more melody. To me, that's Slipknot at it's best

Slipknot and Lady Gaga are my 2 favorite things to listen to in this world so anyone who can incorporate a mention of my girl into a Slipknot video is my hero for life! I consider Gaga an entertainment genius and eternal legend who the world will never forget with the impact she has had and Corey Taylor is catching up to her with the love I have for him, especially after his very recent rants! Iowa is a religious experience for me, I can listen to that and then listen to Gaga because I'm crazy like that! Grew up with metal but as I matured I started to appreciate all sorts of music, especially a voice like Lady Gaga's! Not that anyone cares, just had to rant, thanks dude, love your community!✌

Vol.3: Three Nil, Duality, Before I Forget
      AHIG: Sulfur, Psychosocial, Snuff
Grey Chapter: XIX, The Devil in I, Goodbye, The Negative One
WANYK: Unsainted, Nero Forte, Solway Firth
Giving the intro track a listen before each album really helps set the tone of the album as well. Welcome to the world of Slipknot

My issue with Slipknot's recent stuff is the songwriting just isn't as iconic and memorable as the stuff that made them legendary to begin with. This song kinda falls into that category, it's technically good, but I'd still rather listen to Iowa or vol 3. I know it's hard to expect much more out of a band their age since their pigeonholed by their fanbase and whatnot.
I will say tho, a band that recently came back with new stuff 30 years into their career is Stabbing Westward (not exactly the best band of all time, but still good). They put out a song called "I am Nothing" earlier this year which was easily as good as anything they've ever done and their sound literally hasn't aged a day since the 90s. So if they can do it, so can Slipknot and all these other bands...

Slipknot are easily one of my favorite bands of ALL TIME and I absolutely LOVE the vast majority of this track but if I’m being honest the riff style/beat they’re using at 4:13 pretty much matches the opening riff to almost every major single of theirs since ‘The Grey Chapter’, and for me it’s getting a little stale đŸ€·đŸ»â€â™‚ïž The rest of the track is amazing but when that riff kicked in I kind of eye rolled A LITTLE.
I also kind of feel like Clown isn’t pushing the visual identity of the Knot in the same way he used to, again it feels very much like the last two albums.
