Accra is such a gorgeous and underrated city. Beautiful people. Thanks for the video
I wish this was a longer video. Yes, I remember Makola market. I still have my dress and handbag from there.
Great 🥰
That market looks incredible. So much life and energy!
I want that dress ❤️ I can’t wait to visit Ghana for the 3rd time now I have some new places to visit thanks
Beautiful City 🌆
So happy to see a Ghanian woman with her natural hair and not wearing an excessive amount of makeup. You look soo beautiful.
I totally agree!
The ridiculous looking weaves and wigs need to stop!
Black women look beautiful with natural hair!
Leave women, Black or otherwise, to wear their hair how THEY WANT without judgement.
Leave us black women alone?? Even if she wore any amount of makeup she’s beautiful.
Natural hair?
The men are dying because of wigs.
Naturally, Ghana women are beautiful and loving 😍
Of aaaaallllll the conversation you could be having to be working bettering the community as leaders …. Hair and makeup is the go to, huh? Ok🙄
Planning our trip to Ghana in June 2024. I'm so excited. looking at places to visit and gathering as much information as possible.

Love from İstanbul,Turkey
❤ lovely
I wish it was longer
I went to Ghana. I love the people, they are extremely nice. The politics in Africa have the people living in desperation.
Nice
Great piece, the lady is very eloquent and she captured Accra very well in that little time. My Ghana people on youtube who only want the "nice places" shown in documentaries will definitely be pissed with this one
accra city is still way behind development
i loveto watch your video
Weldone Ghana akwaaba
West Africa ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
A good example of Western Culture.

I like dine in at Southern Fried Chicken (1999)
Too short video, but thank you very much
Looking for a recommendation
I'm planning a 2 week stay in accra. Coming from the states... Is OSU a good place to lodge? Hoping to be near restaurants and shopping if at all possible.
Yes Osu is a good place.
@@romanaabo3664 Great hotels and Restaurants.
Affordable and very friendly.
Thanks for sharing. I look forward to these landmarks in 10 days.
✅
I get pissed off seeing a place Kwame Nkrumah built and no money is spent to renovate the grounds. Looking at the beach at the backdrop makes me even very unhappy. Look at the filth, very shameful.
Typical last century Ghanaian.
Sees only the worst of his own environment that he help create and advocates for someone else or the government to fix for him. I can see you don't live in Ghana. Stay where you are. We'll continue to build the Ghana WE want, DMo.
I wouldn’t really hold them against them for the trash on the beach. It’s not like Ghana is the only country with filthy beaches, and I bet that they definitely have stretches of clean, well-kept beaches for conservation and tourism purposes.
It’s hard to keep the beaches of a major city clean, or any body of water for that matter. The river that runs through New York is a toxic cesspit, for example, but that doesn’t mean New Yorkers should be ashamed of trying to get tourists to go there.
@@dan.S5050 Excellent response.
The singer was singing pls!!?
What is up with that Beach?
What’s the name of the restaurant pls?
Hello, are there also europeans living in Ghana/Accra? Seem to me that Ghana is developing more and more, really i country with good future in my opinion, very democratic country compared to others in africa.
Yes there are
Plenty
I love Ghana 😍
Love from India
Thanks for speaking good english
What?
You don't know the Ghanaian accent is envied?
Foolish Ignorant comment. Most Ghanaians speak good english by the way. Product of colonialism.
We are still proud of our native tongue as well...as we should be.
2:33 How do you use a fake chinese fabric as our beautiful kente in a video that seeks to promote Ghana?
Mokola market is the second largest market in West Africa and which market is the first?
Techiman
@@isaiahbadu4766 its kejetia...
I presume kejetia is the busiest market in the whole of West Africa. Fact
who makes these measurements ?
The biggest is CMS Market, Nigeria
m São Miguel Quixeramobim Ceará
hello its me
okay, but why did DW make such a short vid???
@David Analyst Glad you like it!
What does it mean
Malaysia get freedom on 31 August 1975. Behind 2 month
Nice video but am really sorry to say that I lived and worked in Accra but surprisingly I didn't find Accra dwellers that kind and open. Most people were rather cold, almost unfriendly and speaking the local Twi every where. One evening on my way home along with a colleague, we were assaulted by two armed dudes on a motorbike. It was in 2015, at Adabraka not far from the Trust Towers. Much love from Cameroon!
We are sorry for your bad experience.
We're becoming more cosmopolitan so things would improve
I agree. Only friendly when you have something they want.
Customer service is also really bad.
My son also got his iPhone stolen by guys on a motorbike while he was visiting early this year. You have to be cautious. Sure hope things improve or we can forget about tourism booming.
@@a.konadu4010 Am sorry for what happened to your son.
Some time after my bad experience above, I had to leave Ghana.
Agreed though. That is the west african way. It's like the middle east in that sense. Kind not friendly. I think it's the result of trauma. Most non western countries are like this.
BOLA BOLA CITY TOWN
nice looking beach but littered with trash. still would want to visit ghana one day though.
Accra is a big city , that's all there is to see there ? a restaurant , a square, and a market ?
Sorry that you don't like the video. It features Princess Umul Hatiyya's personal favorite places in Accra. With any place in the world you will face the "problem", that many would choose other favorite places than the protagonist of the video.
@@DWTravel i commented , not because i didn't like the video , on the contrary , i liked it , but it didn't included other touristic sites , with a video title " A Tourist Guide in Accra" i expected to have more sites of Accra , if the video dealing with Princess Umul Hatiyya favorite places , then this video is not a tourist guide video
@@Dragon_Slsyer Okay. Good point. Thank you!
Hector Morton
Keep on dear African has more to show the world 😂😂
Eeii, so people eat Banku with folk!
Bangladesh 🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩
I expected to see the CBD
Her accent is almost Scottish
bir gun gelecem
Just make sure, someone grabs some bags and pick up the trash, cant belive people won't see that.
I agree Asha. She looks and sounds great but those dirty trashy beaches must be cleaned up pronto!
With all due respect but you are beautiful.
I wanna go to Ghana. I need money...
Hɛɛɛ! Why is the girl using fork to eat the Banku and Shito???🤣🤣🤣
Why not?
@@sandrastephens The original way to do it is with the hand. You wash your hand clean and use it.
@@princecodjoe7915 That way maybe your preference but it isn't so for everyone. If I saw you eat rice with your bare hands, I wouldn't ridicule you because it is your way. Learn to live and let others be, please.
@@sandrastephens 🤣🤣🤣 of course, everyone is entitled to their way of life.
@@princecodjoe7915 👌
You’re not serious. Is this how you market Ghana?
Sorry that you don't like the video. It features Princess Umul Hatiyya's personal favorite places in Accra. It is not about "marketing" Ghana.
With any place in the world you will face the "problem", that many would choose other favorite places than the protagonist of the video.
show us here how to "market" ghana.
There are much nicer places in Accra than this....you could have done better especially with Airport city and ridge than you showing us james town
Thank you for your suggestions. Of course, there are many other places worth seeing in Accra. Our local is showing us her favorite places.
We are sorry that you didn't like the video.
I don't have any problem with the video..I just felt your local could have used the opportunity to change perceptions about our dear continent
The fishing village of Jamestown properly defines the local culture of Accra to the tourist. The tourism people SHOULD clean up the place and provide sanitary facilities for the locals. Lots of tourists go there and are met with filth
why must it be Airport city , Ridge that is shown?
Waaw. Really good information.and also big women is good.. will you join me soon at airport to receive me dear??
The people are kinda friendly?? Joker
That was the dirtiest beach ever seen
Who's that eating banku with fork?
I've been pronouncing Accra all wrong!!!
@Butterfly Moon Now you know! 😊
The beach is dirty
