    Getting clunky shifting into 2nd and sometimes 3rd. I suspect it is not creating pressure (esp when cold)... them o rings seem to be high on the list for attention. Can I use nitrile orings (got a box of them) ?

    Good evening Sir, I'm guessing your in Australia 🇦🇺 ?
    I've just bought a 2007 l322 Range Rover, and believe it has this transmission in it ZF 6HP26
    I don't think its been serviced AT ALL, with nearly 350,000k s on it, and no shift problems 😊
    Can i bother you to ask for suggestions, as to what i should do PLEASE 😊?
    My thoughts were new metal pan, with separate filter, new seal in the side that the plug goes onto, and maybe those other 4 round tube seals you mention, and that rectangle one.
    Also all new solenoids, and a flush best as i can do it, before all the above.
    You thoughts?
    Can i get a kit with all that in, for a reasonable price from somewhere you suggest?
    Can i get some recommended oil from somewhere as well, as they say the oil is critical, and to only use LIFEGUARD?
    Do you have a video on flushing one of these to replace most of the fluid?
    I can't seem to find online a baby torque wrench like yours, any ideas on where to get one from?
    THANKS HEAPS, and EXCELLENT educational videos, i APPRECIATE your efforts.
    Cheers Rob from Tasmania AUSTRALIA

      hi, regular service, add magnets and bypass oil cooler. these units flatten out the valve body to case rubber seals and solenoids wear out and get contaminated. on valve body the end plugs wear and lose pressure as well. contact us via link in description, we can supply you parts. cheers

  • @mice6390
    @mice6390 Před 10 měsíci

    Do these boxes need the factory cooler ? I bypassed the coolant on mine so it won’t milkshake but should I put an external cooler on ? It’s an sz Terri non turbo no towing just used as family car. I’ve never had an issue but what do you think mate ? It’s going to be hot this summer that’s all.

    • @YepThatsIt
      @YepThatsIt  Před 10 měsíci

      hi, the factory unit is an heat exchanger, not a cooler as most people think. it is designed to warm up trans fluid temp to coolant temp so the rubber seals dont scrub out when frozen in sub zero climates. in australia we always recommend to bypass the heat exchanger to a bypass transmission oil cooler. this eliminates chance of coolant entering trans, helps maintain lower fluid temp so fluid doesnt break down or lose its properties and also the rubber seals are less likely to crystalise or harden as they will in time with heat. cheers

    Hi there, I just performed this same exact solenoid, bridge, sleeves(4) and pan change out all from ZF. One solenoid (A) did not have any resistance value. Your vid really helped my out in tackling this job, thanks.
    I’m going to add ZF lifeguard oil into my 09 Hyundai Genesis 4.6. Do I need to have a reset done to the adaptation values or will the transmission do it on its own with normal driving? Thanks in advance for your help. Cheers

    • @YepThatsIt
      @YepThatsIt  Před 4 lety

      hi, if you change mechatronic plate you will need to reflash or take to dealership to do it. if you just replace solenoids you won`t need reflash but good idea to do a relearn. if its shifting reasonably it will not do damage and relearn over next couple hundred kms driving. cheers

    Hey mate, I’m having big problems with my 6hp26. It keeps going into limp mode and also sometimes red trans light and won’t move at all.
    It’s only happened since I changed my bridge seal, sealing tubes and mechatronic sleeve.
    When it goes into limp mode and I remove the plug and contact clean it, the car is perfect until oil gets into the plug again. (Short drive)
    Are the pins in this plug mean to stay dry or are the submerged? I feel like maybe I haven’t installed the mechatronic sleeve properly
    Any help is massively appreciated mate, in at a loss and can’t drive my car anymore

    • @YepThatsIt
      @YepThatsIt  Před 2 lety

      hi, if going into limp means major electrical issue. the mech case sleeve should not leak at all, the contacts should only have a squirt of wd40 or dielectric grease - no oil. where did you get bridge seal ? they have a width difference incase you purchased the wrong one? hopefully you havent damaged the mechatronic plate ? if you have more questions contact me via our facebook link in description and bring some beers👍 beer link is in description as well . see also czcams.com/video/wpNSncaFEfE/video.html regarding sleeve and latest zf6hp26 czcams.com/video/6jm0YTQmcmY/video.html and zf6hp28 czcams.com/video/N5s9j8u0RXk/video.html for more info. cheers

    Awesome video!! The best
    I've seen on the shift solenoids. One question: when I start driving in
    automatic mode on the initial take off the I lose transmission power. Soon as I
    take my foot off the accelerator pedal and put it right back I get transmission
    power back. It normally only happens around the initial take off. Another time
    it happens is when I'm parking on a slope, I really have to rev up for the
    initial take off. Once it starts going then no issues. Hope I didn't confuse
    you. Would that be a shift solenoid issue?

    • @YepThatsIt
      @YepThatsIt  Před 5 lety

      hi, it does sound like a contaminated solenoid, where the debris is magnetised making it sticky initially when cold. on these tran, the mechatronic to case rubber tubes and bridge seals flatten out and harden as well. have you been doing regular transmission service on yours? ( every 30,000-50,000km ) and what mileage is on the vehicle, it could be worn anyway? before you do anything, always check the basics - fluid level, electrical connections, strong and charged battery, good earth from transmission to chassis etc. cheers

    • @YepThatsIt
      @YepThatsIt  Před 4 lety

      hi, no tricks just nuts and bolts....re loosening flexplate bolts...make sure you have original high tensile bolts to crankshaft, when you have the flex plate on, rotate it so the holes contact with bolts on the rotation side of hole ( ie bolts leaning against hole ) and also put some lock tight on and do up to manufacturers torque specs + 10% cheers

    • @YepThatsIt

    I have a 2005 SY Territory with 6HP26 it went into limp home mode, reading ODB2 codes it is reporting the following faults: TCM codes: P0705, P0979 and PCM code P0701.

    • @YepThatsIt
      @YepThatsIt  Před 2 lety

      hi, noise could be faulty planetary gear and/or blocked ( starved of oil pump) filter. you most likely have worn/leaking/contaminated solenoids ( allof them ) and cross leaks in the valve body to case tube seals & bridge seal. cheers
