Again I can remember when I first saw this on television as a kid. With Peter Cushing in it, a late Friday night on Channel 4 and a title like "The Beast Must Die" it didn't disappoint. Excellent film.

There was one big flaw with Newcastle's plan. He assembled his list of suspects because each was present at what he determined to be a werewolf attack. But those attacks were all separate incidents, meaning that it could just have easily been that they were *all* werewolves.

Check out the theme to Dracula AD 1972 if you haven't already.

It's awesome too, doesn't sound like a horror theme but then those are some of the best horror soundtracks from the 70's.

He was the main composer of a number of Amicus Horror films (They were Hammer's main competition in the 70's.) I know he scored "Madhouse" with Vincent Price, Peter Cushing, and Robert Quarry. It's definitely a great opening theme, even though it's wholly inappropriate for a horror movie. The other tracks within the film are also good. I wish this could get an official soundtrack release, even if it was a limited run of 5,000 copies or so.

Totally agree with you, both with regards to the soundtrack as well as the inappropriateness... :-D Great 1970s Cop Show Funk...

The intro and music score is highly appropriate considering the race of the main character and his rise from the ghetto to an English country estate

Reminds one of the GREAT Thad Jones/Mel Lewis what I like to call Global All-star Superband of the late 60s- 70s. Really good UK tacit attributes/hats-off/homages to such.

Does anyone know where the estate and the house that this was filmed in was?

Why do the horns always remind of Steptoe and Son?. LOL
