Na I get what you’re saying but one piece ain’t really a great example because that show is also very very goofy. The themes are really good and thought out tho. I feel like dr stone tries to mix in comedy in the same way one piece does it. One piece is just a whole different case because it’s been going for so many years now. But you’re right, dr stone doesn’t fit in with the modern vibe compared to something like jjk that’s way more dark and grounded
I’m literally in the same boat lol. Me and my homies started watching this shit when it came out. It was so dope and interesting. The story, the characters, the soundtrack, everything was on 10. Now three of them dropped it, one is waiting for me to tell them if it’s worth catching up because he put it on hold last cour. Currently I’m the only one who is watching, and it’s gotten a little better since last cour but ion know man, it definitely feels like the show didn’t manage to keep its quality 😭

Obviously it hasn't already ended, and I haven't read the manga, so don't know. Sadly it was predictable that Dr. Stone won't be as popular as fighting shonens, because Detective Conan got the same treatment. Besides Detective Conan extremely popular in Japan, with a long running series, which have more episodes than One Piece, in the west almost nobody heard about it. It sad because shonen fight animes became repetitve if you watch so much at one's and Dr. Stone different enough to watch something different. If you see the Big 3, Naruto, Bleach and One Piece, the new Big 3, Demon Slayer, My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen and the one before them, Dragon Ball, all of them are neverending shonen fight anime. So Dr. Stone, because of it's genre didn't even had a chance to became extremely popular. I just hoping it will get a complete adaptation.
To be fair, Detective Conan is far more repetitive than any other anime. And it's basically gatekeeping itself by having so many cases that you can only understand if you know japanese. Not a good comparison.
The reason Detective conan didnt work here was it was episodic and the main plot takes forever to advance any. most of the episodes are one to three episodes of single cases not related to the main plot. While i liked it and would have kept watching if it stayed on cartoon network. Its main plot slow crawl was annoying in a way. Its been around for years and kudo is still a child with out any sign of him learning how to undo it in sight. so its understandable its not largely popular based on that.
Its a wierd anime but i ended up growing on me, personally, i think it just gets a better and better, hell it may not even have the flashy battles but it has stakes with its battles, battles that was about stratgey and not, "Heh this is getting intresting, is that all your weak punches can do?"and the the arc before it ends was crazy for me, not the mention boichii made it and he desreves respect for his beautiful work!
Honestly, I just got bored of Doctor Stone. Season 1 kept me watching because of the unique premise and interesting lessons, but the story itself isn't very compelling. They didn't take it anywhere exciting. It ended up showing it's colors as just another mid shounen adventure. It's just not memorable. It's not bad by any means, it's just not great either. It's no JJK. It's no Frieren. The show only half-commits to it's hooks and doesn't feel like it fully delivers on any of them. A bit additionally: What I mean by half-commits is shown pretty well in how the anime shows how things are created. Season 1 actually did a pretty good job. It was easy to follow and made the viewer feel like they could pull off the same feats. Eventually it just got silly though and they go into less detail and it makes the inventions feel more like unobtainable magic than proper scientific advancement. The visualization of conception to production to innovation just gets really muddy, and makes the whole experience less enjoyable than it could be.

Season was literally so good, we a conclusion to multiple stories with multiple plot twists an deeper understanding of characters like Tsukasa Season 3 we starting to get the answer to the questions we been having all anime

You should have more subs. Good content and editing. Vinland saga is one of my favorite anime of all time. Season 2 was so slow at first but then, I fell in love. I cried when I watched it and I am not a crier at all. Dr. Stone is an amazing anime. I hate arriving to anime early though. I was on episode 7 and just forgot about it because I got tired of waiting.

From a social media perspective, one of the main reasons nobody is discussing the series is the lack of its production value. The quality increasingly drops every season and even now its very rare to see a few stills of a character with well put together line work. Of course everything looks right but none of it is going beyond that. It’s a very basic adaptation with minimal merits and while other series can get away with that Dr. Stone has nothing that’s satiating those groups that get hyped over how an anime looked.
dr stone is my 2nd favorite anime of all time and the only reason why its not 1st is cause one punch man is nr 1: a.k.a Saitama (also I watched OPM way earlier and even rewatched it like 3 times so there might be a bit of a nostalgia effect there)

I watched the entirety of season 1. The cliff hanger wasn't enough for me to continue. I'm sure it's a great anime to chill and watch but the hype right now is on Onepiece, so I'm sticking that one out.

Demon slayer is so enjoyable for me, I still see the appeal and very much enjoy those types of anime but we should still venture out and watch other stuff outside that genre too
Have you read Kingdom? It's actual peak, top 1. There is an anime, but I HIGHLY recommend just reading the manga, 800 chapters of nothing but bliss, and hype. Not the mindless kind of hype, but actual hype.
I got into this anime because I saw a picture of Kohaku and was like, "Oh damn. She's pretty hot." Then I watched the anime and was like, "Holy shit! This is a science anime! Science is fascinating." And then the science started to die down. They still talk about it but they don't go into depth like they did in season 1. They don't do things like Bill Nye The Science Guy and Beakman's World anymore. Which is sad. I really liked this show because of that. I still enjoy the show because of Kohaku but I miss when they went into depth with the science.
Latest episode (same release as jjk s2 ep 18 as a time stamp cause I forgot the date) was so hype, Senku was standing on business and can't wait to see how he folds old head

I started it last month after just coming across the first episode on CZcams (my friends also love it so that helped me click on it) I finished it within about 2 weeks, then I because I caught up I started reading the manga as I got impatient waiting for the next episode lmao I’m glad that it’s not too popular, because it’s like a hidden gem! I love space so much And the idea of how humanity evolved in interested me a bit! Lord I wrote a paragraph
I was hooked until the village was introduced. Then the depression hit with the realization that they were really trapped here and there was no goong back and that for some reason had an effect on me i guess because that's why i ended uo dropping the show. Unironically loved the lightbulb arc tho.
senku is cool af and dr stone is an amazing anime. just thinking about the future of this anime gets me all excited. It's so hilarious and clever. Very well written and the characters are great. Also farmland saga is absolutely chilling, and the series as a whole is a MASTERPIECE.
The reason why is because the story kinda drops off after the third arc which is the one that is about to be adapted into the anime. And by arc I mean anime season/ main manga arc
Nah the reason is simple, well at least for me that i was a hard fan of the series because they realistically showed how everything is hard to make without advanced technology at hand ,but after the first main plot finished the anime is now skipping entire days, weeks or even months of the creation of every new tool because the plot needs it, the creation process was the most vital part of the series and without that... well is just a boring anime/manga

I didn't watch it yet, but it sounds a lot like early One Piece problem. I mean before people used "it's too long" as an argument. One Piece was always a Battle Shonen but it wasn't flashy at all, so it didn't appeal to western audience. It took a decade to break through thanks to pure storytelling and absolute popularity in Japan. Dr Stone doesn't seem to have the latter though.
Season 1 was amazing but the wait inbetween 1 and 2 killed some of my anticipation. When I started seasons 2 it dropped it soon after because it felt like it was direcitonless. Please tell me I'm wrong without spoiling. Because I don't want to put energy into a show that takes me nowhere
While we're recommending really out there but amazing anime, might i introduce some of you to Mushi-shi? Warning ahead of time. Never watch more than two episodes per day, and prepare a special spot to stare at a wall and think about deep, existential topics after every other episode.

I love dr.stone, and I prefer the story of an anime than the battles because I want to know the world around instead of flashy seens where it only last a limited time, the story and plot is literally the most important thing about any story

I watched the entirety of season 1. The cliff hanger wasn't enough for me to continue. I'm sure it's a great anime to chill and watch but the hype right now is on Onepiece, so I'm sticking that one out.
I respect the f out of you for praising something while not shooting other stuff down.
Most of the time people crap on Demon Slayer while talking about something else they like and that immediately turns me off.
Demon slayer is so enjoyable for me, I still see the appeal and very much enjoy those types of anime but we should still venture out and watch other stuff outside that genre too

Have you read Kingdom? It's actual peak, top 1. There is an anime, but I HIGHLY recommend just reading the manga, 800 chapters of nothing but bliss, and hype. Not the mindless kind of hype, but actual hype.

I got into this anime because I saw a picture of Kohaku and was like, "Oh damn. She's pretty hot."
Then I watched the anime and was like, "Holy shit! This is a science anime! Science is fascinating."
And then the science started to die down. They still talk about it but they don't go into depth like they did in season 1. They don't do things like Bill Nye The Science Guy and Beakman's World anymore. Which is sad. I really liked this show because of that. I still enjoy the show because of Kohaku but I miss when they went into depth with the science.
Latest episode (same release as jjk s2 ep 18 as a time stamp cause I forgot the date) was so hype, Senku was standing on business and can't wait to see how he folds old head

I love dr stone! I started it last month after just coming across the first episode on CZcams (my friends also love it so that helped me click on it)
I finished it within about 2 weeks, then I because I caught up I started reading the manga as I got impatient waiting for the next episode lmao

I was hooked until the village was introduced. Then the depression hit with the realization that they were really trapped here and there was no goong back and that for some reason had an effect on me i guess because that's why i ended uo dropping the show.

senku is cool af and dr stone is an amazing anime. just thinking about the future of this anime gets me all excited. It's so hilarious and clever. Very well written and the characters are great.
Also farmland saga is absolutely chilling, and the series as a whole is a MASTERPIECE.
The reason why is because the story kinda drops off after the third arc which is the one that is about to be adapted into the anime. And by arc I mean anime season/ main manga arc
Nah the reason is simple, well at least for me that i was a hard fan of the series because they realistically showed how everything is hard to make without advanced technology at hand ,but after the first main plot finished the anime is now skipping entire days, weeks or even months of the creation of every new tool because the plot needs it, the creation process was the most vital part of the series and without that... well is just a boring anime/manga

I remember 1st seeing Dr stone on a site while looking for Manga to read and thought to myself who would want to read some boring science guy be smart. A few months pass and I stumble upon the anime with the same mindset. But I figured why not try it out because I heard good things. I then finished the enitre 1st season in like 2 days and read the Manga all the way up to the new world ark till 5 am on a school night. It's honestly so fun and it deserves more

I didn't watch it yet, but it sounds a lot like early One Piece problem. I mean before people used "it's too long" as an argument. One Piece was always a Battle Shonen but it wasn't flashy at all, so it didn't appeal to western audience. It took a decade to break through thanks to pure storytelling and absolute popularity in Japan. Dr Stone doesn't seem to have the latter though.

Season 1 was amazing but the wait inbetween 1 and 2 killed some of my anticipation. When I started seasons 2 it dropped it soon after because it felt like it was direcitonless. Please tell me I'm wrong without spoiling. Because I don't want to put energy into a show that takes me nowhere
