Don't expect recognition from tv channel. Who are they to recognise? There is nothing to feel proud or happy. Come out of inferiority complex. I am a tamilan and Malayalam movies are realistic and Innovative. I started watching some Malayalam movies in lockdown and they are better than Hindi movies(mostly they are copy Cate of Hollywood movies which common people can never correlate)

Otherwise I have seen people fight on Bollywood, Mollywood, Tollywood and it really pains me. I like what is Indian, quality films is only what matters rest language does not matter to me. Even in Mollywood I love Mohanlal, Mamooty, Dulqeer Salman, Fahad Fashil and now Tovino Thomas in minnal murali watching him for first time. And I'm proud that it is breaking all records and making an example that how just in a budget of 20 Crores a masterpiece can be made. And plzz bhai tell me from where I can learn Malayalam but for free. Coz I love learning more of Indian Languages apart from my Mother Tongue.

U guys may feel like it's just another seat for Basil, like any other director in the show...
But as Malayalis, we know its quite a difficult position to achieve, for a Malayalam director in the Indian film industry..
Malayalam industry is not an industry that got recognised because of high budget movies, or pan indian level superstars or a huge audience base... But just because of the quality of work and the art...
So for us, it is really happy to see him sharing seats on par with the other established pan Indian level directors...
Our directors never had a chance to sit on that seat, as they were recognised only after their reign in the industry was ended....
we had that fate.
And now for the First tym, a Malayali director, being recognised by Indians in a very few days after the launch of the movie.
And that.... we call an achievement ❤️

Basil did a fantastic job with Minnal Murali. Finally we have a superhero of our own and possibly this will be the foundation to a cinematic verse like Marvel or DC in India. In just 3 movies, Basil had made a lasting impression on people across the globe and that speaks volumes about the talent that he possesses!

It is so refreshing to listen to someone like Chaitanya & Nandini for their honesty. Chaitanya's take on why he made Disciple really is a fresh perspective, it's a tragedy that personal insecurity or vulnerability hasn't been explored as much & if it has it's mostly an underdog or tragic story.

Good to see Rajiv Masand interviewing ppl from south. OTT gave a big slap to Hindi movie directors, who always thought magnanimity can bring them success. Regional movies have always been content kings and OTT has got the talents out now.
Bollywood has become a dump-yard of stupid biopics, hero/heroine worship, item songs, remix of nice music, and ofcourse the ruling party pleasing patriotic movies. Lets see what 2022 has for us.
