    its weird how when Dibakar was talking about Sukant Goel , and saying how he hopes he becomes the next big thing, Karan Johar looks at him and say's i don't know about next big thing and literally cuts the conversation. Why can't you treat outsiders with just as much respect as you treat star kids. You can easily go on praising Janhvi for over 5 mins, but when an actor like Sukant Goel is being praised , you barely give him the respect he deserves. Karan Johar is an ok filmaker and producer, but would appreciate if he can go beyond status , family and money before judging one.

      You all are supremely judgemental. It's karan who mentioned that actor at 11:13 as "incredible actor by the way and holds the whole film together." Karan's film itself has outsiders as the lead in Avinash Tiwari and Mrunal Thakur. He said 'not sure about the next big thing' maybe because he has some experience of running the biggest production house of the country and maybe has some idea about what the majority likes. It wasn't condescending, maybe a bit too practical.

    Anurag's ghost story gave me glimpses of the Babadook and how it was a dark look towards depression and grief told in the form of a horror story. You have to keep the mindset of treating this as a ghost story on a side and watch it with an altogether different perspective. Having said that, I expected more out of his story.

  • @Malshe
    @Malshe Před 4 lety +2

    Ok watched it today and it totally blew my mind! Ghost Stories is talking about the demons that we live with each day. It's very little of the supernatural and more of the lived in fears and realities. Here's listing it in order of preference..
    Dibakar's movie was such a nuanced piece of work.. i was restless watching it but by the end when I picked on the messaging it all came together.
    Zoya's is my fav maker so i was glued to evey min. The story of loneliness, abandonment and moroseness is so well captured. Jahnvi and Surekha Sikri were outstanding.
    Karan's short for me was about how we hold on to our rituals and traditions no matter what. And when you add moneyed people in the equation it just makes for hilarity plus. I found the vibe similar to the 'marrying the tree' episode of 'Made in Heaven'
    Anurag's story was very well shot but i didn't understand it. Esp the cannibalism and the reference to crows. I love Shobhita who is poker face crazy but yeah i didn't get all of it although that scene of her on the toilet seat with the shot of the bloodied sanitary pad was just BOMB!

    For me, I absolutely loved zoya’s story the most as it was most relevant & a perfect ghost story that kept me on the edge of my seat, & next best was Karan Johar’s story as I absolutely loved going through that short mystery & suspense about the existence (or non-existence) of the granny. And as for the other 2 stories, neither appealed to me at all as I’m not a fan of zombie or “gory” horror , both were rather depressing, disturbing and unsatisfying tales. I must say, when it comes to Hindi horror , no director can even come close to the Bhatt camp! Truely a fan of vikram & mahesh bhatt

      @deets1250 Před 4 lety +3

      @@126rishabhdaiya4 yeah you're right. At least I see it as an analogy/ parallel.
      Sobhita adopts the physicality of a predatory bird + when she looks into the mirror, she sees that demonic figure; which is essentially a projection of her psychological trauma.
      The bird (in the childhood flashback) is assumed to look at Sobhita as some kind of demon destroying her eggs, so Sobhita imagines herself as that demon, destorying her own 'egg' or foetus... hope that makes sense (??)
