What switches did you use on this build?
For those worrying about interference, if the switch used has long pole or short travel distance then there wont be any interference issues. The issues occur when the keycap touched the switch in a north facing led layout. If the switch is a long pole then there wont be any issue. If the travel distance is less than or equal to 3.8 you are all right.
Is there a list for compatible north-facing switches?

Recently worked on the same board for a client.
Did almost the same mods you did and it turned out like a dream!
maybe you can add the force break (basically putting tape on the contact points of the bottom and upper housing)mod as well when you work in it again
if i get the chance to have one myself i would probably do the silicon fill mod and replace those stabilizers as well.

I appreciate that this board has north facing switch configuration. I'm not sure how shine through keycaps is always considered gamer or unattractive. It's a nice feature to have especially in a dark room. I have several north facing boards and have never experienced interference with any keycaps.
Eyyyo now this is what I've been waiting for.
I'm glad someone finally made a keycap set similar to gmk skidolcha. Hopefully they'll offer a cherry set to.
Excellent video as always! I bought the akko 3068B (black and pink) with the jelly blues cause i saw your review , and you were right , this keyboard is amazing out of the box , thanks for that review it helped a lot. Huge upgrade from my corsair k65 mini.

@@ConsumerTechReview Yeah! I was like oh ok i would have to tape + foam mod it, and fix the stabs , but it was excellent out of the box. For 79 euro i feel like i stole them.
Hello! Great review! I'm trying to PE foam mod my MOD007 with the FR4 plate, but it seems like the middle switches just won't bite into the PCB with the plate foam + PE foam. Did you experience any issues? Thanks!

Thinking upgrade from my drop alt which I have about 3-4 months but I started missing the F key row lol I don't knwo which one should I get the akko mod 007 or keychron q1... currently Q1 with the knob is out of stock and I don't know if I'll wait for it or just get this one instead what I like about this akko keyboard is almost everything except for the non include screw in stabs and the stickers at the bottom housing for the price both are incredible!! Any recomendation why should I get the Q1 or the AKKO?? thanks and great video!!!

Great video. What are you thoughts on the melody 96. It seems to come in around this price but is a bigger board.

Depends what you like if north or south facing led's is a problem... If you like RGB it's better to have north facing, if you like to change a lot of keycaps and try different switches south facing is better. But solution to the interference with north facing leds is to use switches with longer stems so interference isn't an issue (like holy panda's all Akko cs switches, boba u4t's).

i didn't see you mention this but this board supports both screw in stabs and plate mounted stabs even though the stock stabs are plate mounted

I have to wait them to release south facing pcb on their boards. Like they did a lot of north facing already starting from MOD001 and now this too.

You think its worth spending the extra on this or just getting a 3068B as a starting point? I really like the aluminium case tbh but I also don't know whether I should wait for the 3068B to come back in stock
Personally I'd recommend the 3068B if you want a really good board that can be modded out of the box. The mod 007 is fantastic, but obviously you have to mod it a little out of the box, especially the stabs. It's really up to how much time you want to spend on it, also whether you want a 65% or 75%. Both are incredibly good choices!

Hmm that pink is pretty nice. It's clearly not "pink" it's clearly like rose gold but it's attractive.

South facing LEDs look fantastic with clear keycaps, but otherwise are wasted because they're incompatible with shine through.

Feker IK75 is pretty good too if you like this kind of layout.

why the hate for shine through keycaps? i dont mind rgb lighting, but seeing your keys in the dark is the only actually usefull advantage of rgb lighting

Absolutely NOT a con if you like shine through keycaps. South facing are horrible for shine through keycaps.
The difference even when you have keycaps that are solid between North and South is negligible at best and I have both types.

Tbh the FR4 plates for me, sound terrible in all keyboard models I’ve seen retired online and definitely not to my liking at all! And this new keycap style just isn’t for me 🤕🤮🤢 Awesome video thou as always CTR 🥰🥳👍.
