I am an Indian woman living in Canada.. I follow Dr. Akerkar from a very long time. I was diagnosed with AS in 2020 at Chennai by Dr. Sham and since than I am taking Sulfasalazine 500 mg two times a day as prescribed by him…It is working perfectly for me and now doctors in Canada also have told me to keep continuing with it. I am totally doing great with Sulfasalazine with no stiffness or pain and no tiredness at all. I hope it keeps on working like that forever.
@@Arsh_deep24 you need to first get a family doctor and then tell him that you have AS.. he will refer you to a Rheumatologist.. I have OHIP card provided by Health Ontario as I am a Permanent Resident… so check your health insurance company if you are coming as a student..

1) If S remains in remission for a long period of time; your rheumatologist will taper Saaz & eventually may even stop it. Dont do that yourself; keep seeing the rheumatologist. 2) If AS is is remission with exercise/ diet & NSAIDs, it is not necessary to take higher meds; but let your rheumatologist take these decisions. make sure to discuss this with him.

Complete the course of vitamin D. You may be having acidity. Ensure timely meals & ask your rheumatologist about medicine for acidity if it persists.

Please do not reduce doses of Saaz on your own. Please see your rheumatologist. Let him decide & guide.
