    Thanks! Summary: Keep water at 104 to 105 degrees submerged. Boiling or microwave will destroy the enzymes.

    My first jar crystalyzed 1/4of the bottle. I cut the bottle open lenghwise and put it out for the bees. I dont know where they all come from, but they were going to town on it. Put sticks here and there so they wouldnt drown in the stuff. It was really neat to watch them work it down to nothing but a couple crystals.

    The honey in my house started to crystallize. I just ran it over somewhat hot from the sink and it worked like a charm.

    I don't like to heat plastics, even a little bit. I put my new honey straight from the store into a glass mason jar. You can also get a spoon in there easily.

    I 'collect' honey when I go on my road/motorcycle trips. I think it is neat how honey from other areas of the US tastes different from what I purchase locally here in Arkansas. Thanks for the vid...I have several jars that need de-crytalized.

    It’s such a slow process without a crock pot. I keep changing water to warm/hot after it cools and 6 changes later, only 15% of honey de-crystalized.

    Heating up a jar now. I filled up a pot with hot water, put the container inside, put the stove burner on super low. I have a lazer temp gun and heat it up to 107 degrees f.
    If it goes higher than that, I slide the pot off the burner just a bit. Keep doing that till the temp doesn't go up or down.

    I have left about 28oz honey for over 2h at exactly 105F. Then let it on the warm water overnight. Still partially crystallized. I think 105F is too low. Will go to 130F for another couple of hours.

    • @norml.hugh-mann

      Can't let the plastic touch the bottom of the pan while heating..it will melt...you must have the water between it and the bottom to keep it under 212..on the 3xtewme end...use a double boiler if you want to heat it in the bottle

  • @ChoJun69
    @ChoJun69 Před 5 měsíci +3

    anyone watching should actually cut open their bottles and put the honey into jars or other containers that aren't plastic for future easy recrystallization (i personally buy ketchup, or pickles or w.e. else you want, +500g jars instead of bottles for exact this reason, do it 1-2 times and you have forever lasting container for stuff like this especially considering you dont eat 200g honey in a sitting). Heating plastic with things you plan to consume inside is a very very bad idea

    • @Mr371312
      @Mr371312 Před měsícem

      The reason to uncrystallize it is because its stuck in the bottle. Low temperatures like 100f are very safe for foodgrade plastics, I guarantee you are eating far more dangerous foods of the like on a daily basis.

    How long does it stay decrystallized

    • @chuckroast7053
      @chuckroast7053 Před rokem +1

      RB, once you decrystallize and if the temperature in your area is warm like spring/summer, it should remain in its original state for a week or so. I read that if the temperature is below 50, it will probably start to crystalize again. I also read that depending on what the bees are foraging on, that could add to crystallization, so as mentioned in the video, crystallized honey is still good to eat.

      There's 3000 year old honey that's still edible. So long as it's not got a bunch of contaminants in it (like pb smears) it will last that long. Mine WITH smears has lasted me 4 years so far.

      need higher temp or keep it for longer. It's not rocket science, its literally HEAT+CRYSTALIZED> Liquid honey, can just add your jar into pot with hot - not boiled - water and keep it there, same concept.
