Sergeant York is a great movie and that punkin ball should be a great two legged predator stopper
at 55 yards, good shooting with a smooth bore round ball,
Awsome stuff for those 20 gauge guys well done Wade 👍
Still waiting for Earle to have Rusty over to test some rounds. Love to learn and watch.
I've been loading sized .577 Minnie balls with great success into .20 ga. 585 works too, but I've found .577 sized rounds are just perfect fit. They seem to fly straight and deliver shocking knockdown power. I just have to remove two of the 4 sides of a standard shotgun cup wad. Making a sabot like sleeve with the two remaining cup shot wads wall sides. They hammer stuff and show much more expansion and bullet deformation than they do fired out of any of my .577 muzzleloaders.
By far my best performer in the 20 ga. Is a .575 cal ball.
I guess we’re all out of luck. My understanding, IMR developed Blue, Green, and Red due to Alliant not being able to produce enough. Now, IMR has dropped these powders in the worst of times. I have 1 pound of Blue. I’ve been trying to find Blue Dot since last December. Pretty darn crazy fellows. Great info on the 20ga loads. Sure appreciate your time and sharing. I’m a bit late commenting but faster than Alliant Powders!! Deer season is here for some and really close for others. Hope everyone has a fun and safe hunting season.
I’ve had great luck also with 1 ounce Water Gremlin sinkers and a cut down CB clone of the WAA20 also. Modified choke in my case though.
Use sylacone as a means to stable the 3ball comming out of the barrel and less deformed
Multi ball handloads are the single best upgrade in smoothbore firepower since the blunderbuss. These are charge stoppers that perform well beyond regular buckshot. Actually they deserve the title of grapeshot from cannon ammo of Napolionic Wars. Ensure your wooden butt stock is very tightly secured folks.
Same goes for smoothbore slugs.
Be well
Really like these specialty round videos
*WADE, thank you for the 20 gauge video... I will probably be doing some .490" double ball loads... Found some more Longshot and HS-6 powder at Graf & Sons RETAIL storefront outlet. And I probably bought the last 20 gauge REMINGTON WADS on the planet. A few bags 12 gauge Remington wads were still there....on the RETAIL SIDE. A lot of things Might still be " NOT IN STOCK - ONLINE ". SOON we might be making our own wads and black powder....and building our own flintlocks, again. We might re-live history or experience a modern version of the Pennsylvania experience ... in the Mid to late 1700's."
I love how methodical your presentation is. A monkey could follow the instructions
Great as always
You may want to try buck and ball with the buck on top of the ball.
I did some testing with multiple configurations several years ago Alex! Check it out: czcams.com/video/fh5GI6MEjYM/video.html
Dang good 60 cal ball load, Wade. Awesome stuff again!
Hi Wade can you do some .410 stuff ? all the best from across the pond.
Hey Daniel! I don't own a .410 yet! Gotta get 1 though. So many folks have them and I do have some .410 loading components available!
Started looking at your channel while checking out slug options for my Remington 870 20ga youth model for home defense but that 60 cal ball was impressive!...
Yessir! This is gonna be a great home defense round Charlie... very low recoil! Will be great for ladies and young'uns to shoot! Wade
Excellent video thanks
My pleasure!
I heard 800X is being discontinued as well. What a shame. Great video Wade.
Hey Jim! Hope y'all are well brother... It's sad for sure! The word is; they are coming out with some replacements! I guess we will see.
Good video love sargent york great movie God bless and have a great day
Thanks Wade ‼️👍
I always learn something new when I watch your videos thank you. I can’t find the pt2092 in stock ever for some reason. I’d be interested to see new long range loads for the 20 gauge once you fix your extractor.
Got several rounds loaded up! Extractors came today...
@@BubbaRountreeOutdoors Awesome I can’t wait to see what you’ve come up with. That’s seems to be a problem with the Stoeger shotguns but the new Benelli extractor should do great.
Hey wade got any turkey shell reloading videos in the works? Springs on its way and I’m feeling the turkey bird bug getting ahold of me
12 gauge Remington STS 2 3/4"
CCI 209M MAGNUM primer
23.0 grains LS
RP12 wad
1 3/8 oz of shot
18.0 grains #47 buffer
20 gauge overshot card
1167 FPS
10,100 PSI
Mr Wade, Did the other two powders cycle your Stoger?
Three in a day. Thanks for the entertainment on a dreary cold Tn day. Something I thought to mention is that apparently the patent is up on the Benelli ARGO gas system. I saw a Turkish clone of the M4 at the Atlantic Firearms website. The only draw back is it has a pistol grip stock. Not a fan on a shotgun. YEHAA from East TN
Yeah! I saw that... the 'Panzer' I think. I had though about getting 1 to review from Classic Firearms.
Good stuff, thanks Wade
Hey Wade you want to sell some of those? I’d like to see what they’d do in my 20
Hey Wade off topic question ...can I shoot turkey loads threw my kicks buck kicker I was thinking so because it's lead?
Looks awesome
Just stumbled across your videos and I'm absolutely blown away from the knowledge that you have on shotgun loads.
But if you don't mind, could you try to answer a question for me.
I'm not familiar with loading hulls. But could I get some low brass clay loads, cut the top, then load a .69 round ball in it? I know I've watched some of your videos and you had better success with the star method. But I'm just asking. Thank you and God bless
thanks buddy! Yes you can, if the ball will fit into the wad. You may have to remove the wad and trim the pedals off and just use the power piston.
@@BubbaRountreeOutdoors thanks much my friend. God bless and have a blessed day
@@BubbaRountreeOutdoors one more thing, what round ball would work in a 20 gauge and how would it do?
@@cdp50359 I have shot single ball from .57 cal to .60 cal with awesome performance and here's a very simple double ball: czcams.com/video/NRwkhdLeNgU/video.html
I bought a 870 super magazine to dog hunt with in Abbeville Al .joined a club this ,I made a mistake of not patterning my gun and I missed several before I shot it at paper it was shooting oo 2 ft to the left and high at 40 yards
Ouch!! I had an older Stoeger that shot low and left... seemed to be a common problem with the older ones! I haven't seen that problem with the Remington's though! Barrel may have gotten bent in it's travels...
@@BubbaRountreeOutdoors i changed the choke tube to a buck kicker full and killed three coyotes at 40 yards
Thanks for the great video. Don't have a 20ga myself, but it never hurts to learn new things.
The 49 cal balls used were .490
round balls like can be used in
black powder guns, right ?
i get to go hunting next year with my uncle and im shooting a single shot
Wish the best luck ! Only takes one good shot . Be safe !
@@larryalexander4833 thanks
Every deer I've shot the last few years has been with a single shot either rifle or shotgun, and I don't feel undergunned in the least.
All my muzzleloaders are single shots. It's not a handicap at all.
Good Luck
Have you ever done any 20 ga tri ball in a 2.75 hull ?
Fantastic video Wade as always! can you do some 3.5" buck and ball loads ?
Already working on a video Daniel... as soon as the weather cooperates I will get a video posted!
@@BubbaRountreeOutdoors Thanks Wade ! looking forward to it !
How do the turkey loads do in the buck kicker full choke 12 gage 3 1/2.
they do excellent with the Winchester Longbeard XR's
10-4
He wade I’ve been watching your stuff for a long time big admire of your work. I’ve also been reload rifle and pistol for 20 years now and I’m set up pretty good on that but I’m more than kicking around the idea that I need to start reload my shotgun shells especially buckshot if I can find components Have you done any reloading buckshot bare-bones minimal tooling without the press? I’m pretty set on powder and primers and shot. the things I’ll need are hulls and wads. Just wondered if you had any tips on hand loading shotgun shells Without the Press? Thanks again
here ya go Matt! czcams.com/video/TM6V06qtqTE/video.html
Thanks Wade
That’s just the information that I needed to boost my confidence to get after and handle business
What can you use in 12ga, maybe?4 .50
You may be able to get 4 of the .50 cal ball in a 3" round.
Could you reverse the buck and ball load and put the ball below the buckshot?
yessir! czcams.com/video/fh5GI6MEjYM/video.html
In the single ball 2 3/4" round, can I sub a 1/8" 20ga nitro card for the gas seal?
Maybe... I haven't tried it John! If you try it let me know how it works! Wade
What size choke are you using for the tri ball and the single 0.49 cal ball?
Kicks Buck-kicker .620 constriction
How good would that 60cal do on deer
It would be very effective inside of 50 yards David! I would like to get velocities up around 1300-1400 fps to reach out a little further!
@@BubbaRountreeOutdoors thanks
