Glad to see you back bubba and rachel
Thanks for sharing the information and for the video
I always love seeing your buck shot videos
Wade, good to see you trying Hodgdon Clays. It’s my go to powder for light 12ga loads using Lee slugs, 00 buck or shot in my pump gun. anywhere between 14 1/2 and 17 grains of clays for either a 7/8 ounce or 1 ounce load using any wad, any hull, any primer. Around 1100 fps and Recoil and pressure are low. May not cycle a semi auto though.
Thanks for showing this Wade! I have a bunch of those Fed/Rio hulls and I have to tighten up the primer pocket or a Cheddite primer falls out. Luckily I scored a Brick of Rio primers before the bottom fell out of things.
Just an FYI, federal has an even newer hull out now that is a tapered hull. Keep an eye out for those!
As always, prayers to you and the family, Keep Ms JoAnne on the mend!
I Love those old AA Winchester hulls. I've loaded just about everything in em over the years.
Capt busters little fan girl been binge watching all y'all's videos today because we are all sick, she came in my room this afternoon and made me order her a bran new bible from Amazon because ice age said to read it in a video of Y'all's 🤣 so keep up the good work y'all have a positive impact on people 💯 it's nice to know I can let her watch Y'all's channel and not worry about her hearing and seeing bad things,Thank you and your family very much

Great job wade always love your videos
I had no idea you could use low brass birdshot hull's to load buckshot,,I just bought 3 lbs of shotgun powder,200 primers, enough #4 buck pellets to sink the titanic again, flight control cups and a new Lee press and crimper but only had a few old 3" buck shot hull's but I have 3 huge outside plastic trash cans filled with empty birdshot hull's,my friends and family do a lot of clay shooting,I definitely learned something new today thank you Mr, Wade,I'm not a fan of 2&3/4" but From the looks of these loads you built it will definitely take a deer, Glad to see y'all feeling better my house has that upper respiratory virus now One Dr said COVID my son's dr said unidentified virus all I know is I get winded scratching my head, but god bless you and yours be safe
The brass on shells don't mean much anymore as they did during the paper hull days. Of course ,back then they did not have the technology they use for powders , even back in the 60's. So for heavy loads they used more of it to get the reguired ballistics. Without the high brass the shells would burn through the hulls, so that was the reason for it. . It is still done this way for different reasons. Nostalgia , identification , or because people just expect it. Today, low brass is fine. No problem at all.
Remington STS and Winchester AA hulls are one piece hulls, all the brass does is hold the primer. Hight of the brass matters not in modern plastic hulls.
The main thing to watch out for is tapered vs straight wall hulls. Wads meant for straight hulls may not seat fully in tapered hulls. Wads meant for tapered hulls do not give a good powder seal in straight hulls.
Side note, which wads are you using? You said flight control, but to my knowledge federal flitecontrol wads aren't available.
@@ExF1Guy Excellent and very true point.
@@ExF1Guy yes sir $10.99 for 250 of them direct from federals website,I've never seen a tapered hull,But then again I'm just starting to reload shotgun
Wade ,those lighter loads would definitely do the job. Y'all look like you feel a lot better from the last time I saw you. That is great.
Thanks brother!!
Another great vid. Kepp up the good work.
Great video, thank you!
That was impressive.
As always, great videos
Thank you brother for this video! This helped.
Yessir! My pleasure brother...
Nice targets!
Love it you are the best
powder migration... static electricity ,gotta wipe before loading w dryer sheet and wont need ...
Hey Wade.. can you do a video on 2 3/4" and 3" reloads using 000 buck with Longshot, HS-6 and Clays powders?
I wanted to let you guys know that somebody is sending out texts telling folks that they have one hunts with your hunting club or other things. Obviously it's scammers, I also got the same thing from Big pencils CZcams site. It also happened on Don mealey's CZcams site. I'm sure you guys know by now but I just wanted to tell you just in case you didn't. Have a blessed day can't wait to see you next year.
Great video wade. Have you ever used the Remington RP-12 wad for buckshot
Yes I have. They work great when you can find em!
@@BubbaRountreeOutdoors thank you. I had a friend give me a bag full
Wade would the green shortshell wads work in the last two loads of this video? Thank you sir!
yes you can! Make sure the wad seats down on the powder! The Mica wad slick from Ballistic Products helps a lot! www.ballisticproducts.com/Mica-Wad-Slick-8-oz-jar/productinfo/MICA/
How long is the barrel on your gun?
I tried 10 pellets of 00 in STS hulls with the CB1138 wad, but the wads were blowing the seal out and the velocities would never go above a certain point. Exact same powder charge but with an MG42 wad yielded 200 more FPS velocity. In the end though, I ended up using Federal top gun hulls, 31.5 of LS, MG42 wad and 10 pellets of Hornady 00, I really like the STS hulls for BB/BBB but they don't have quite enough internal volume for the MG42 and 10 pellets, probably because the MG42 wad has those hinges inside the shot cup so the 00 doesn't sit flat like it would in a traditional wad.
Sometimes that CB1138-12 won't seat all the way down in that sts hull! It has happened to me a couple times!
when yall fish wateree river, what landing do you use, thank you
The closest public landing is the 1 off of #1 hwy Lugoff SC. Not sure what it's called but you can Google it!
Have you played around with any Clay Dot powder with buckshot loads?
I don't have any Clay dot powder Johnny. If it will handle 1 oz to 1 1/4 oz loads you should be able to load some very effective buckshot rounds in some 2.75"
What tube extension and choke is that? I need to get those for mine.
I have an M.O.A. Precision extension and a Kicks Buck-kicker choke tube in full.
@@BubbaRountreeOutdoors thank you very much.
Any good 0 to 0000 buck loads for cylinder bore 12 gauges?
These loads should work well! In my experience the bigger pellets perform great out of the bigger bore chokes.
Hey Bubba I'm new to reloading shotshells. I just got a mec 650 and I have some s&b hulls that were factory 00 buckshot 9pellet. I can't seem to find any info on them for what brand hull it is. I did cut one open and it seems to be tapered just not sure what I should go off of to load them.
I've been using cheddite data for s&b hulls
@Jacob Ackley thank you are your running a power pistol wad or a full wad if full what one?
@@russell93lxhatch66 I use mg42 wads and tps white lightning wads
The guys here are rt! Cheddite data will work with the S&B hulls.
Are shotguns all yall use during deer season
Oh no! We use rifles a lot too. But it was a rough season in 2022.
👍👍
I don't see how you got 10 pellet's of 00 in the shell. I can only get 9 in. And I use 32 grains of longshot and makes a flame bout 2 inches out the end of a 28" barrel.
stack the pellets by 2's and you can get 10 pellets in there! I would also drop the LS powder charge back to 28 or 29 grains.
