I love when you both play and sing. I could sit and listen for hours.
I frequently do.
That was W😀NDERFUL!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 For those not old enough to remember roller skates with keys, they were four wheeled skates in two metal sections with two wheels on each section. The sections slid into each other so you could adjust them to fit over your shoes. The key was used to tighten the nut that held them together.
And some skates also had clamps on the front half that grabbed the sides of the soles of your shoes and the key was used to turn the square-drive screw that tightened those clamps. It was a multi-functional key!
And they weren’t a metaphor for anything, especially not anything sexual.
@@richardblain4783 LOLOL.
I’ve got a brand new combine harvester …..Brendan Grace …Irish version. Check it out 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪💚💚
Thanks for explaining this! I was so confused, I thought it was someone’s brand new car keys, and they were driving somewhere to roller skate lol
You two did a wonderful cover of this song....but seriously there could be hundreds of fantastic Melanie songs that people other than her baby boomer fans never got to hear....I think you two would cover any of them terrifically.....she was an ingenious song writer.....may I suggest.... PERCEIVE IT OR DO YOU BELIEVE ....SHE spent her entire life right to her end....Singing.....she loved Music as much as you guys do and she left behind an arsenal of music....that people need to hear.....her song Brand New Key.....shadowed out other absolutely great songs.....AND FRANKLY as a 50year Melanite.... this cover was a great tribute to a fantastic artist who is no longer with us.....thank you....great job...
I was on Melanie's CZcams channel a couple of years ago listening to this song and commented how much I've always loved it and was a teenager when it was released. I felt joy and like I really mattered to her when she thanked me. Thank you for the music Melanie. And of course to you for this lovely cover!
Thanks god! A woman not singing like the new diva of the soul. Thanks a lot! Ive liked a lot!
Rest in Peace, Melanie.
Man, you two are so smooth. It's like your fingers are barely moving. I really enjoyed watching and listening to you play and sing.
You know these girls practice and polish their selections before they present them to us but they make it seem so effortless. Keep up the
great work ladies.
That song sure brings memories! Thank you for sharing it!
You two are just fab!!! Pure joy! Melanie would be proud of you two!
Many thanks to the two of you for the latest in a very long line of smiles. Y'all keep singing, we'll keep smiling. Deal?
Happy Sunday morning! Enjoying Father’s Day and listening to your music. Thanks for all you do.❤❤
Every Sunday morning exceeds the last. Sweet, harmonious, simplicity - with the perfect mix of country and folk flavor. Marvelous.
Miss my Melanie...and all her great songs.. nicely done, ...More Melanie please..smiles for miles...
Our numbers are dwindling Tim, but I, for one, certainly agree.
I haven't heard this song in decades. THANK YOU BOTH!!! 👍👍👍❤❤❤
I was about to say the same thing Robert.
Just delightful stuff from Reina and Toni, as usual.
It is a part of my play list. I make my own CD's and have over 2000 songs and adding to it ever so often.
I’m wondering how they found this one. Kind of remote from the 70’s
Thanks for a great memory of Melanie. I did her version of Ruby Tuesday as the sole, staff performer at a Butlin's Holiday Camp on the Isle of Wight in 73. The guests all bought this 18 yr old a lotta beers. I loved Mel. All her songs.....RIP my Dear.
THIS version is stunningly beautiful - and you inspired me very much. You both are great musicians and singers. One can feel that - as a musician, what i am.
This song came up on the radio here in Germany when i was teenager around 14 years... often heard in the seventies last century... and it still fascinates me what Melanie created and sung.
She was born February 3, 1947 in Queens, New York City, U.S. and she died January 23, 2024 (aged 76).
Rest in Peace, Melanie - one more passed away, one more of those great artists, that made my youth happy, singing, swinging, dancing. Unforgotten. For ever, as long as i live.
You are walking in Melanie's shoes. Keep on walking... these shoes are made for walking ! ❤
I was shocked to see this cover. Simply amazing. Reina, you have one of the best voices I've ever heard.
Some 50 years ago I used to listen pretty much the Melanie songs. She had an incredible voice and wrote very sweet songs.
Great!!!
Beautiful collaboration
Lovely harmony🍒🎶 👍👍👍👍👍🍒
As an old guy and a lover of Melanie allow me to say Bravo! That was pretty damn sweet. ✌🏼
Same here.. Old Guys and Dolls Rule😅 Peace Out ✌Y'all
I have not heard this song for a long time. Yes I had Melanie’s album with this song as a teenager.
Beautiful rendition of the song Thank you a lot. That's awesome. Happy Father's day. I love you.....and coffee cheers .🕊🙋♂️💖🤩👍💐❤💖😍
Melanie we love you .REST IN PEACE BEAUTIFUL LADY. 😢🎶😥🎼🌹🌈☪️💐❤
Lovely version, especially Toni's sweet & subtle interlude.🥰
RIP Melanie 😥
Y'all are making me feel old. I remember when Melanie came out with this. This and "Lay Down" are two of my favorites. Thank you, very fond memories there.
And, Look what they done to my song, Ma!
The two of you are very talented with lovely voices. You must have been reincarnated with these great old souls. Melanie goes back several decades and finding younger people playing these oldies so good is just wonderful.
How sweet! Thank you for lighting up my Sunday evening and greetings from Germany!
I could’ve sworn you did this one before, how have you not done this one before? It’s so you. It’s ridiculously obvious. Bravo!
LOVE when Reina and Toni pop up in my feed. Especially on a Monday morning while I am moving and very much in need of good tunes!
Magnificent!!! Like it was written for the two of you!! A big smile for this Father’s Day! Thank you! Coffee cheers! ☕️☕️ 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This was my favorite song when I was a kid. Used to annoy everyone “singing” it all the time.
Your version is much much better.
Thanks for the memory.
I was just listening to Melanie sing this the other day, set to the video a high school girl made that was so perfect for the song.
Elle's voice is so right for this as well.
Excellent, I know Melanie, I’ll pass it on for sure.
Just right. Feels like home. Perfect Sunday morning!
This song is a lesson in double-entendre plus it brings back some great memories.
Did I say lesson, hell it's a masterclass!😊
Back in the days when censors made it necessary to sing about s*x without actually saying anything pertaining to s*x... 👍👍👍🤣🤣🤣
A wonderful arrangement and perfect for your voices! Absolutely love it! Great to have you back.
An all time fav tune by Melanie
Right on,takes me back to 1970"s,well done.
I love this song. It's always part of The Summer Of Love Concerts I go to see in New Jersey. I also recommended this song to a young girl from The UK who sings it now. 👍
ahh. some good 'ole early 70's folk. 🧡 love it. also reminds me of The Wurzels 'Combine Harvester' parody of the song. 😂
such a cute song. i had forgotten this one. sweetly simple
I’ve not heard that for a few years, remember being a small kid when it was released.
Great cover ladies 🌈
I rode my bicycle to get to this video. Worth it!
I use to sing this to my daughter when she was young. She always wanted me to sing it.
Well, it's not morning here but it's still good to see and listen to you ladies.
In the uk a cover of this about a combine harvester was a huge success. In didn’t realise it was a cover. Fun!
Melanie (Safka) - so many great songs & albums! Coffee Cheers to two other great ladies here!
You two singing and playing you guitars is my favotite.
I don't know why this song brings me the time I was delivering newspaper around my block. Thank you, girls!
This should be fun. I have a couple of Melanie albums from when I used to work at a used record store.
Like you two, I think I was born after my time.
Con voi, è sempre una buona domenica! Grazie 🌞🌞🌞
Très joyeux ! Merci Ça faisait bien longtemps qu’on n’avait pas eu notre « Sunday morning » !..
The guitar brake was so smooth. What talent!
Delightful! I loved the harmony on this one. Coffee cheeers!
Smooth sweet cover of an oldie but goodie that put put a smile on my old face. Thanks.
Perhaps the naughtiest song you two have ever covered. Fabulous!!
I have a crush on Toni😊 This tune played a few times a day, every day when I was a kid.
Thanks for the jingle! You both light up the room with your smiles❤❤
Cant beat acoustic guitars plus human voice. Thats all that is needed. Lovely arrangement
Awesome rendition of a classic 😊. Those really were the good old days!
My Mum and I used to listen to this together on the radio when I was a little girl. “I got a brand new pair o’ roller skates” is lodged in my happy brain, forever, I hope. Couldn’t help smiling and singing along with you. Thanks for the sweet memory. (I’m very grateful for you bringing all of this great folk music back to the fore.)
Now that is an old song. Nicely done.
Great cover of the Melanie classic. Would love to see Reina and Toni do her other famous one "Look what they've done to my song Ma".
i'm sure you, 2 beautiful and very talented ladies, are recoverd from the sixties, Melanie could be proud! Friendly greetings from Belgium, ❤
I love that you young ladies have such an appreciation for music of my era. I was so upset that I wasn't able to make it to your show when you were in Atlanta last year even though I had tickets (my wife was ill) but I hope you will make it back before too much longer.
That’s still a sweet song, and your voice delivers it nicely.
Perfect!
this is a perfect song for you guys.
Loved hearing this song from my childhood. Thanks! ❤
Really nice harmony. As usual. Cheers from the Pacific West Coast of Canada.
The innuendo of this song is hilarious!
Boy you are making me old, remember Melanie sang this and Lay Down which was about Wookstock . I had roller skates like those in the song as a kid.
I haven't heard this song in like forever. Great job.
Hello from England, i've missed the Sunday mornings, nice to see you bot back, one of my favourite songs, thank you both, from John Mccartney.

beautifully done ladies. Thanks for that, J. X.
Super cool ladies 👋👋👋 Happy Sunday and Happy Father’s day to all😎♥️👍🏼
Always a great song. Not many probably know it. I remember it as a kid. Great rendition.
I really enjoyed listening to Melanie Safka in my younger days. I would play each of her songs at our little radio station. Thank you for that, brings back memories.
Takes me back to when I was 12, great job
Great cover ladies 👍🏻. Love Melanie and her music. I have been a guest in her home a few times.
The smiles at the very very end is my favorite part!!
Just discovered this channel yesterday and I'm hooked now. What wonderful music.
I haven't heard that in so many years. Thank you.❤For a wonderful arrangement and performance. 🙏
That certainly brings back memories for me. Beautiful version. I had the original vinyl (still have it) when it came out. Melanie was indeed unique. I would estimate it came out right around 50+ years ago. 😄
I bought that when it came out too ! .... 😅👍
Late 1960’s or early 70’s.
This song makes me think of Boogie Nights :)
...Next week: Night Ranger🤪
Lovely, heartfelt treatment of an old favorite. Thanks!
Beautiful. Surprised but loved the harmony in the chorus
you two ladies sound so amazing together, don't stop. I love it ❤
I couldn't help myself, I had to sing along.
