"Never Going Back Again" by Fleetwood Mac, cover by Reina del Cid and Toni Lindgren
Subscribe: bit.ly/subRdC
We went out to the Joshua Tree area to record this cover of Never Going Back Again -- a great song off one of the most iconic albums of all time: Rumours. Those pesky desert burrs almost ruined this one, but luckily they were strategically lodged in spots where they didn't interfere too much with guitar playing. Whew! If you've never been to Joshua Tree -- highly recommend. Just don't touch anything! :D

Y’all been to Joshua Tree? It’s beautiful and I highly recommend if you don’t mind the heat. I’m a ND/MN native who definitely prefers the cold but even I thought it was worth it for the views. Just don’t touch anything! 😂🌵
Drove through once in an '89 Chevy Camaro en route from San Diego to The Bronx. Didn't touch anything. Hats Off & much respect to Toni on handling a phenomenally tricky piece here!
"Have You Still Haven't Found What You're Looking For.." 🤔😁
Hold me before I’m gone forever is my favorite song. I love everything that you and Toni sing. I try to watch every single video you have done. Only wish I had an autographed picture of you and Toni so I could hang it next to another of my favorite singers Kim Carnes I’m from Arkansas I’m 72 years old you have a special sounding voice as Kim Carnes does thank you Two so much for your beautiful songs Johnnie
Not the best season! Joshua Tree is great in late fall, winter, and early spring. The rest of the year it's time to head to higher elevations nearby. But, if it's the only chance you get, go when it's hot - totally worth it! But still don't touch anything. ;)
I live in the high desert about 90 minutes west of the park (or fifteen minutes if you drive like the locals). The entire high desert is that way: relative temp extremes in comparsion to the rest of So Cal/La La Land but that is also why this area is still sparse and yet to be grossly overbuilt.
When we moved here from the bay area, one of the first things I became acquainted with, were goat-head thorns. You are lucky if all you get are burrs and fox tails. Goat-head thorns propagate in certain types of tumble-weeds. They have very sharp woody tetra-hedral spines, at least as sharp as rose thorns but often longer. And due to their shape, no matter how they land, there is at least one point facing up. I got one all the way thru a shoe sole while trying to clear some weeds at the end of winter 2022-2023 and it went several millimeters into my foot. The shoe still has the blood stain in it. Part of the reason I do weed clearance is to get rid of these pest plants which some historical legends suggest were intentionally planted by the spanish missionaries to discourage natives from going barefoot which spanish catholic culture regarded as somehow sinful. May those who brought and planted those infernal bushes, earn their own places in eternal punishment.
So yeah, look at the desert but really don't assume it is that great to reach out and hug or anything.
Toni… Lindsey Buckingham is a hard guitarist to properly cover, and you absolutely nailed it. Bravo!
Buckingham
@@steinbauge4591 Lol… gotta love “spellcheck”. Thanks! Fixed
What I was going to say...great job!
Man, I thought the same thing, but after watching her for so long, there's not much she can't play. I don't even attempt this one because it just frustrates me!
Toni done a vey good job with Jim croce's songs, too
Toni guitar skills are outstanding
Two beautiful souls, playing a beautiful song, in a beautiful setting. And beauty will save the world.
Wonderful. Such a difficult piece yet Toni makes it look effortless.
I’m thinking that for her, it kinda is.
That's her real magic. However much she practiced offscreen, by the time we see it she's got it so down it looks like she just conjured it up.
yeah this is incredible
wow - Toni's playing is soooo smooth...
Toni Lindgren ... awesome. She really nailed it.
I haven't touched anything, but the song has touched me. Toni's guitar picking is simply marvelous. 🌵
yeah she is phenominal..this song is so hard to play
Always loved the simplistic sound of this melody. So soothing. Toni spot on, as always. Reina's vocals always pleasing.
It simply makes me smile. Nothing else matters.
Beautiful guitar playing by Toni.
And living in south Texas where there’s an assortment of prickly, pokey, bitey, things be careful where you sit…
Love your music!
The desert tries to kill everything and everyone at first. Once you make peace with it, it waits patiently and eventually when you die you become one with it. I'm patiently waiting for my turn. Thanks for the gorgeous cover!
Toni - you nailed it !
Always love hearing you!
Toni. You wow me with that cover. Excellent musicianship from both.
One of my favorites. That melody is so wonderful it's a joy to hear it repeated the entire song
Great sound and location, love the "dead cat" cactus mic cover - nice touch. Cheers N&J🎸
You two (and Josh, Carson +) just keep getting better and better!
So nice to see you play outdoors in the beautiful dessert!
Love it💙 I love Sunday Mornings☮️
Level unlocked- this amazing - a technical and difficult song, beautiful scenery, and wonderful singing. Thank you!
Splendid rendition. I’m glad YT recommended this video.
Excellent performance Reina and Toni!
Takes me back to age 14. Thanks to both women for respecting this beautiful piece.
What a beautiful setting ! Great version of this classic song.
Well played! Hope you enjoy the dry heat of the high desert. Would love to hear you play at the summit of Mt Baden Powell, not too far from Joshua tree.
Exquisitely done. My best takeaway is watching Toni and Reina interact. They smile at one another in a way that friends do. I noticed the smile as when I first saw them play live here in Houston. Reina smiles often, but Toni smile with a rare and frequent radiance that I just love. Thanks for another Happy Sunday.
Love seeing y’all on Sunday’s! Always a joy. You seem to have life down. Flowing’ easy while running full tilt boogie.
this location, the light, the environment, the music, fantastic
Even with cockle burrs a solid performance Thank
Toni looks a llittle sunburned, but she sure can play that guitar! Fortunately, the cockle burrs didn't affect Reina's voice - it's as sweet as ever! I find it amazing all the pain and suffering you two go through to delight the heck out of us... At some point, I expect there might be a tune played completely underwater - or maybe one actually from outer space...
Yep , sea bass tastes/sounds good to me !!!! Ha ha ha been waiting forever for throwing that humor ! ! ! You two do wonderfully!!!
Love Fleetwood Mac , brings back memories of seeing the band in Madison Square Garden NYC 1980 3rd row. Now going with my daughter to see Stevie and Billy Joel in August in OH. You both are very talented musicians , have become a big fan. Thank you for the wonderful melodies. Ro Jo
Wonderful! My favorite Fleetwood Mac song
one of my favorite songs of all time...
Hey Reina and Toni! You are truly amazing! I never get enough of your music. Please come to Spokane, WA. This patron needs to meet you both!
Toni's artistry is always a joy. Even more so when playing a personal fav from the 70s. Joshua trees in the background is icing on the cake.
There ya go Toni!!! Sounds so great ladies! ❤️👏👏👏👏
OMG asmr overload. Thank you both.
Not a very easy song to play except for Reina & Toni. Excellent job ladies.
One of the best FM songs ever
What a couple! My favourites!
Such a joy to see you two playing and singing together--performances well-crafted every time!
I didn't think anyone would be able to cover this well. That is some astounding guitar 🎸 work. About the best take I think I'll hear.
These little productions are exquisite.
You don't have to suffer literally for your art. Beautiful performance.
Great backdrop - great cover. Left me smiling.
God bless you two! That was a triumph!
I love how you always choose these beautiful natural landscapes to record in. And respect for nailing these hard to sing vocals!
Love you girls!! Come back to New Orleans!!❤
Listen to this 5 times. Really happy to have been on this journey with you. Thank you for taking me along.
This makes me so happy
Absolutely stunning. Your Sunday covers are one of my favorite weekend highlights!!!
First of all, don’t know how I missed this a month ago but glad it popped on my feed here now-Toni is a true virtuoso guitar vixen and what an absolutely spot-on recreation of one of Lindsey Buckingham’s best acoustic guitar works ever and she nailed it!! Another great vocal by Reina of course and just another awesome video to please and amaze all us countless fans of this dynamic duo🧑🏻👩🏼🎼🎤🎸🎸
This is so relaxing. Keep it up Reina and Toni!

Wow! Absolutely beautiful 💖
Ahhhh...Nice to se you together. Have missed your Sunday moments quite badly actually. /Greetings from Sweden. ☮❤
Always great to hear a bit of Reina on a Sunday evening :)
Great job with the guitar Toni. Lovely tune to cover ❤
Wow, major kudos for playing something that sounds so incredibly easy but probably one of the most complicated finger picking songs ever created. Not to mention vocally as well. Very nicely done.
Absolutely beautiful. You always manage to get crisp studio-quality sound in the open air.
Been playing for 40 years finger picking & flat picking & you are the real deal! Fantastic skills demonstrated on an advanced song. Also, the singer was excellent in her delivery & did an amazing job as well. Nicely done!
This was great. Thanks. (Love the setting composition too. Framing. Colors. Nice.)
Imagine you walking alone nearby and hear this ❤️
The trees dancing in the background!!
Now in tears . . . thanks!
Lovin Toni's desert outfit

Wow! Famously-hard song to pick on the guitar! Great job! And great vocals, too! You two are amazing! :)
Keep playin'; another tune for the road.
The guitar playing was hot and the commentary was on point!
To play this song is many a guitar player’s wildest dream, and Toni makes it look like a walk in the park. Well done guys, one of my favorite old Fleetwood Mac songs. 👍
I never get tired of Lindgrens playing...
Everything in the desert will stick you, bite you or sting you. Good job on getting it done. Nice Sunday !
Beautiful sound, beautiful Music. Thank you Reina and Toni.
Toni is my guitar heroine.
You two just cease to amaze me with your musical diversity. ❤
Happy Sunday Morning!
Absolutely awesome!! The guitar playing, the pent up emotion in the vocals, and the beautiful subtle harmonies. Wow! Well done!!
Yeah Toni & Reina!
Beautiful backdrop! It's so colourful.
Love that tune. Well played, and well sang, as always.
Thank you ladies; you never fail to elevate Sundays with your uploads.
Oh, you lasses have made this old Yorkshireman very, very happy.
Many thanks.
That was so beautiful ❤
Ooooo I absolutely LOVE this song, really undervalued and underplayed song for me, so thanks for playing this one!! 🤩👌 beauty version 🥰
Brilliant 👏🏴
outstanding, thank you for sharing
Toni got it absolutely spot on! Honestly could have believed I was listening to Lindsey!
One of my favorite songs, beautifully played.
An excellent cover, and what beautiful light to film in too
Great tune, well played Toni! I've always enjoyed this song and Lindsey's finger picking. Epic.
