I'm 80 years old and Toni is the finest guitar player I have ever heard, in my humble opinion.
Yep, she is goooooood. 👍
I agree
Every guitar in the world out there waits silently to be played by Toni.
Friends, I am 64 years old, but these young voices with their special talents and their individual take on old songs, is so fresh and uplifting!!!
Brought back memories of my father, who was a Hank Williams fan. I’m a die-hard classic rock fan, but because of my father there is still plenty of room for country. He would’ve been 88 later this year if he were still with us.
I’m 86 years old and enjoyed the singing and playing very much.
I am 70 years old and that is absolutely truly beautiful.👍🏼😁😎❤️🎸
Elle has a beautiful voice.
one is a very unique guitar player. The other has a very unique voice. I am glad they met each other.
✂️
I am another 76 yr old Enjoying your amazing Catalogue of brilliant arrangements 💓💕🎶💝
It's great that young people keep old songs alive after all they are the roots of todays music
What makes you two sound so good is that you play for the song and not the ego. A little group from England used to do that back in the 60's. Sold a bunch of records too.
Love love love this! Im 60 old school country! Hats off to you both!!
I’m 68 and have for many years loved Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Fats Dominos versions of Hank Williams songs. But you guys are taking his songs to another level (first one I heard with you was Jambalaya (the railway track version - WOW). Thank You Ladies!! Greetings from Denmark. 🇩🇰
I am 73 and have heard a lot of people do this song, I have to say the intro is as good as it gets, both of you did a great job and the song was done perfectly. Toni's intro and outro and her solo and fillls gave it the feel of a steel guitar playing along. Needless to say I have been a fan for a decade and try to listen to what either of you put up, and love it when it is two of you together.
I'm not far behind you and it's wonderful the way they keep the circle unbroken.
Agree with everything in those comments. Excellent job both of you and Toni's intro and outro superb.
Beautiful
R.E. Gunter : Well put.
This is right up my street as we say in these parts.✌🏻
Ik werd verliefd op de meisjes en natuurlijk het liedje. Kocht een bas Leerde mezelf basgitaar spelen op dit liedje. George (70) Holland EU
These two artists can cover any song or tune with distinction and make it their own, often more pleasing than the original artist. keep up the good work Girls.
Hank Sr. was, in my humble opinion, the greatest songwriter ever. He was a brilliantly streaking comet who left us WAY too soon. Reina and Toni did this one beautifully!! GREAT job Ladies!!
It is so wonderful that young people make that Hillbilly Shakespeare Hank Williams live among us.
I'm 70 years old and I would like to marry you both because You are wonderful 😂😂😂.... Thank You for beautiful song !!! 💖💖💖
I remember listening to Hank when he was still alive. I believe he would feel honored to have such talented artists as you two cover his songs. You really do this one justice.
Those first few notes were pure hank
I really enjoy Elle & Toni's videos. The singing and playing are great and so are the song choices. I'm teaching myself how to play the bass and an added plus with this song is that its a great one for a budding bass player to play along to. Rather than just follow bass tab I more or less guessed/figured out the chord progression and found a simple bass line that works. For a song like this a simple bass line probably is all that is needed. But learning to play my bass in this way is a nice baby step towards becoming a self sufficient bass player. And it was nice to sort of be playing along with the two of them.
Elle and Toni if you read these comments, I hope you'll do more songs like this for the beginner musicians in their audience. Simple chord progressions and good views of of your guitars, please!
A final comment: like some of the other commenters I'm older than Elle and Toni, now approaching my mid sixties. The other thing I like so much in their videos is that when I watch them the feeling of being their age comes back to me somehow. A form of time travel, almost. Thank you both for that, Elle and Toni!...
That song is as good with morning coffee as it is with a cold draft beer.
Or bourbon. Lots of bourbon.
This is what I mean when I say I love country music.
Thank you, pretty sure ol Hank was looking down and smiling
My lovely Dad played Hank records. I'm kinda an old lady now, and it touches my heart to hear you two.
I am 52 years old and I've been a huge fan of Hank Williams and his music all of my life... I've heard many versions of this song but besides Hank Williams singing it,you ladies did a gracious job at it....
Yes they did! Clear voices and nice tempo. Thank you ladies.
Surely cheers me up to hear great songs sung awesomely!
Gracious yes, your just having DTs for Hank :)
I have no hope of winning the compition from guyes who suggest their age as a throphie, meaning something valuable. I'm much younger then 64, leave alone those terrible 80! All and all, the girls are great! Not only did they invent an absolutely new stunning format with shelves full of books on the background, but they realy can sing and play and perform! The way to go!
This has got to be the best version I ever heard. Old Hank Sr. would be proud.
Agree with you 100%
I absolutely agree
You two never seize to amaze! I know this is an older video ... But Ms Toni, and Ms Elle will always be a staple in my youtube rabbit holes.
Just love Toni’s guitaring. Together they make a great team.
She made that flattop top sound like a complete band
I'm 66 years old. This brings back memories of listening to my dad and his buddies sing and strum Hank Williams Sr. songs. Although, you ladies did more than just strum.Thanks.
Huh, me too. 67 in January. That's a favourite song of mine, with some great covers over the years, and this was just a great version. Coffee cheers!
John Benavides: I have never been a Hank Williams fan but I will make exception for you guys singing his stuff.
It’s always great to hear a Toni Lindgren solo and a song with Reina and Toni harmonizing.
Who says country songs lack psychological depth and acumen? A great song, and a great version. Thank you guys.
Fabulous to see and hear two young ladies living their best lives entertaining their fans!
I’m sure Hank would approve.
thank you for keeping Hank's music alive
Reina seems proud of Toni's solos and Toni seems glad to accompany Reina. God mine, such a wonderful instrumental and vocal folk, country, pop, whatever female duet.
The video started playing while I was entering the room. I thought Toni was playing a steal pedal. I man can dream, right? Voices outrageously strong on this. Then, Toni smiles. Thank you , Ladies!
Toni is a guitar virtuoso.
I've never seen Toni and Elle sing (amazing!) but know Elle from her incredible Instagram posts (the fonts or planets battling it out) Brilliant!
Ya'll are great. Hank Sr. is my 3rd cousin. Thank you! Great playing and vocals.
So beautiful to hear the new generation bringing back the good old memories ❤
Thanks - Hank would be proud. Hell, I’m proud of you and I had absolutely nothing to do but listen and grin!
See ya in Seattle. Memories of singing this song with my brothers during car trips .
Thank you, ladies. It might not be -22C here in East Anglia, but you've certainly brightened a miserable, dreich English morning!
The combination of your talent and musical taste, makes you ladies irresistible👍❤️☮️🎶
I could sit and listen to these two ladies sing and play all night long! Wonderful and so talented. Each of the music accent notes that Toni plays just adds to Reina’s voice. Just outstanding!
Yes ‘mam…that‘ll do it. This Texan heartily approves.
what is more cool than 2 gals rippin out some ol hank sr.!!!
Hank truly was a poet, such great words. And you ladies did the song proud, I'm sure he would love this....
Brings back some not so good memories of my late Mother but still has a place in my cold, cold heart.
I love it when younger people play older songs. And this one was old fifty years ago.
Absolutely nailed this song and the guitar lead is out of this world, dont ever stop playing together ladies, you are amazing together….
Wow! Gotta love the way she mimics a lap steel guitar.
Wow. ShoutOut to the cold cold hearts
Music is alive and in safe hands thanks ladies beautiful as always 👍❤️😄🇫🇴☮️
OMG Toni you are the cat's meow picking that guitar.
The variety of your music, and attention to detail in every piece reminds me of why I loved The Beatles…….
So much talent brought in such a simple way...Excellent girls
You ladies do realize that 50 years from now, in 2071 or so, you both will be registered in the pantheon of music ... while many of the current 'musical noisemakers' will be long forgotten.
Our affection for the song stylings of RDC and Toni began with some Hank on a lonely railroad track. It's still growing. Absolutely Brill! Thanks
Toni tossed that solo in as easy as giving someone change for a buck.
You just got yourself a new fan from Denmark 🇩🇰 - this sounds GREAT!
Tony! PLAY IT NIMBLE FINGERS!!!!!!!!! Woondeeerfuuuul!!!
Elle- your voice is amazing and Toni plays well her guitar❤
I think Hank would like it
Clapton, Harrison, Peter Green, BB King, Toni Lindgren: my favourite guitarists.
RORY GALLAGHER is mine...
A video with Rachelle and Toni playing two Martin guitars and singing a Hank Williams song in front of a iconic book- lined book case plus coffee cheers. Nuthin' could be finah. Thank you as always 😊❤.
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT
Fabulous talents...their fantastic renditions of "Jambalaya'" and "Cold cold heart" are absolutely topnotch! Pretty relaxing and pure entertainment, indeed! Long live and more power ms Reina and ms Toni!
I'm sure that Hank would be flattered and proud... of you two.
Nailed it, ladies. These lyrics are just one example of the genius of Hank Williams. Consider the outsized impact he had on American music even though he died at 29 years old.
Paul Simon was asked who were the greatest songwriters of all time...he replied... "First Tier: George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Hank Williams, Paul McCartney".
What a wonderful cover. There is so much truth in Hanks writings.
I will be 75 in a fortnight and have been listening to "country style pickers" for over 40 years , but Toni is now on my favourites list!!!!... You girls are great and your harmonies are beautiful!!..
.... Petetheo . (UK)👍✌
Toni always makes it look so easy. Very tasteful runs that add but don't get in the way. Im surprised that you still surprise me. I should expect it by now. Thanks for posting.
Usual drill here - open video - mark as like - play and adore Reina's lovely country style vocals, and marvel at Toni's wonderful guitarship (is that a word? - is now) set on repeat and forget about the rest of this world's problems for a few hours.
When I find myself singing along, I know I'm hearing a great rendition!
Another cherry on the cake.
I want to hear pictures from life’s other side from you. Hank said it was written in 1895. Great job.
Love u guys from the Philippines....
Their voices blend so naturally.
And what else can be said about Toni's skill on an acoustic guitar????
Doing Hank proud!!
i'm in love with the musical talent of Reina del Cid
Velvet voice RDS!!
Hank Williams was my grandmother’s favorite.
You guys are the Future of Country Songs !
Toni, is a thing of beauty-that's for sure. I love her smile - best female lead that I know of...thanks for sharing...
Well you melted my cold cold heart Reina my dear with your soft voice and guitar.
And Toni's guitar and harmonies, ... what can I say to do you justice? Lovely music.
Fabulous rendition. At nearly 80 this brought sensational memories flooding back from when I first heard this song by Hank in 1961
I do enjoy your sweet music and old time songs!
Love the old Hank songs…real country…stetson hats, boots, acoustic guitars fast cars, heartbreak songs , alcohol and pills! LOL 😎👍
Ha! I just posted my own cover of this song!
I wasn't consciously aware that YOU gals had done a version too!
(...until after looking around on YT to see what other folk had done to this old chestnut!)
Y'all select it and sing it and I'll simply love it. This classic is no exception! Your arrangement does the legacy justice. A sippin' and asinging.
Love this stripped down acoustic arrangement.
Thanks ladies for doing Hanks « Cold Cold Heart » !!! I love everything you gals do but you really touched my heart with one. I never would have expected this from you. Thank you so so much 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Bellissimo, dal sud Italia, oggi freddissimo, ma voi siete il sound acustico che cercavo in questo pomeriggio!!!
Toni Toni .. once again you drew sweet music from your guitar. And your harmonies are honey to my ears. Thank you Reina. You are fabulous. Absolutely !! and happy every morning to you both.
We sure did enjoy that. Love from Montreal 🏍🇨🇦
Holy Cow Batman, that was at a whole new level of musicianship.
