I work night security from 10pm till 6 am and things get weird midnight to sun rise, I was sitting in the side seat of my truck watching a building and rarely do I ever nod off but I did one time due to a double shift, well I heard someone say excuse me sir and I woke up and jumped out and looked around and no one was there, I thought maybe I was just asleep so started to yawn and try and shake off the sleepiness then I felt someone tap me on my shoulder and I turned around to find no one. Another time I was doing some paper work waiting for 1st shift to relieve me, he was the site supervisor and I had gotten to be friends with him, well I looked up from my clip board to see him walking by the windows of the guard shack and heard him say his usual greeting Hey buddy, I said hey your early and went to side door to open it for him and when I did he was wasn't there, thought he went to the porter potties on side and didn't see him go in,I waited 10 mins and thought did he fall in and went to check, not there then I checked his parking place not there, I just didn't know what to think so just went back, well time went on way past time for him to show up and I thought did he leave on an emergency and couldn't tell me, well I got a call from headquarters and was told I need to stay till they get someone to relieve me cause I'll call him Joe, had been found unresponsive in his bed and paramedics are trying to revive him, he ended up dying. But he still visits time to time ill just hear hey buddy and nobody there

Not to ruin your idea but I've heard that sometimes a ghost will just get stuck in a loop. Kinda like why you'd see ghosts haunting a place where they died instead of being literally anywhere else.
But I kinda prefer the idea that these ghosts just like to pop in and check in on us rather than their spirit or something being stuck like that for some unknown reason.

I used to work as a security officer at Leeds Castle in Kent, UK. The night shift always had that element of 'what's out there'. If you weren't stationed in the castle itself or one of the many buildings then the exterior was pitch dark, as in you couldn't see your hand in front of your face. The grounds had to be patrolled on occasion and driving around then walking with only a torch got the adrenaline pumping I can tell you. Hearing the wind in the trees, the sound of water, the nocturnal animals in the brush and the many ghosts stories surrounding the place.

I worked one night shift and there was something weird that happened. There really isn't any reason this location had paranormal activity, so I always brushed it off, but I like telling the story anyways.
Working at a chain pharmacy in New Hampshire overnight. It was overnight the day after Christmas Day. This pharmacy always reset the holiday aisle this night since there was a lot to change and I wanted overtime. Working with my store manager that night, and it was she and I and no one else.
The store itself had the internal lights on a timer. When they dim to just the security lights, we would need to just go to the office and press a button near the top of the door which would flip the lights back to full, and off of back up power / security lights. And just so happens that when we were cleaning up and putting things in the back room, the lights dimmed and we would need to hit the button. The back room was two stories, and my boss was in the back putting product shelves on the organizer and I was closer to the stairs, so I just ran down and pushed the button.
As I left the office, I hear a faint, but absolutely clear, female voice say "thaaaank youu!" as if someone was yelling it from the other end of the store, like near the registers or the coolers with the drinks, so I figured my boss was grabbing more stuff to bring upstairs. But when I went to the back upstairs, she was still there putting away shelves. It was weird, and I didn't make much of it, but about 2 or 3 minutes after I got upstairs, I had to ask her... "were you upstairs the whole time when I went down to the office?" She said yes. After another minute, I asked her "did you yell down 'thank you' when I flipped the lights back?" to which she laughed and said no, but told me she was seeing or hearing weird stuff all night, and didn't want to tell me.
I asked other people who worked at the store longer than I had, and apparently there was a lot of people who heard or saw weird things working at night at that place.

There are notes around talking about keeping blinds closed at all times and installing desk blockers to hide information on the terminals because a man was seen outside on the CCTV, staring in through the windows.
Also talks in other notes about how something was seen on the CCTV monitors that freaked out an Officer. Technician say's it wasn't a technical glitch on the CCTV and so on... The similarities are striking.

@@Jim-ke3vj I have two from my time at my current hospital. I worked overnights for a year and half on a medical surgical floor, but often worked many other departments in the hospital. I’ve heard many stories from other overnight staff, and even some daytime staff, about weird things happening, or unexplained. I do have a haunted room on our floor where the call light will randomly go off on its multiple times if the room is vacant. The only way to get it to stop is to tell the former patient to knock it off or enter the room and disconnect the call light.
      1. I was working overnights on a different floor but went down to a separate floor (our overnight surgical floor) for some supplies. I stopped at the nurses station to talk to the nurses there for a moment and as I was walking away I noticed a full black figure walking around the corner at the very end of the hall. I turned back to the station and asked if there were anybody in the rooms at that end of the hall. The rooms were not due to call light maintenance happening the next day. Concerned we had maybe a lost patient or family member staying the night I raced towards where I saw the figure. I rounded the corner to see the stairwell entrance door closed. I ran over to the stairs and looked both up and down and saw no one but heard someone’s footsteps slowly walking on the stairs. I called out to see if someone would respond and the steps stopped for a moment, and then it sounded as if someone began frantically running down the steps. We called security on our vocera device to help and make sure it wasn’t someone who wasn’t supposed to be in the building. The checked all over, and checked the camera footage, all they saw was me running towards a door and talking to an empty staircase, they never once saw the black figure.
      2. We had a patient who was on comfort cares, or transitioning to a hospice plan of care. He was a younger gentlemen in his late 40s, who had two adult children. I had gotten to know them over his stay and they were quite lovely. I felt so sad that he had taken a turn for the worst.
Closer to the end one night his children had left for the night and he was sound asleep in bed. Myself, and 4 other staff members were gathered around the nurses station discussing the staffing coming up in a few hours. I happened to look up when I saw something move out of the corner of my eye. I saw a large black hooded figure, definitely over 6 feet tall, walking down the hall. I asked if he needed help but he kept walking. At that moment the nurse sitting next to me also saw the figure and began to ask the figure what they were doing. All 5 of us watched as the figure walk into the room of our patient who was on comfort cares, and the door SLAM shut. His nurse and myself thought maybe it was a family member but the other nurses reminded us that his kids went home, his wife had died years prior, and all other family lived out of state. The 5 of us rushed into the room to check on the patient. We checked the entire room, turned on all the lights, and checked every hiding place and found no one.
The patient was awake in bed concerned about what was going on. We told him about what we saw and why we were checking his room. He looked at us in shock and said he had seen the same figure years prior when he was admitted to the hospital shortly after his wife died.
He then told us a story about how his wife was physically and mentally abusive. They were estranged but she would visit often and leave food for him. The night she committed suicide, he was rushed to the hospital the same night. While in the ICU he could see in the corner of his room, the same figure who we described. He then told us that his terminal illness was from his ex-wife’s attempted murder-suicide. He had been poisoned with the food she would regularly bring, which then lead to his prolonged medical issues.
He told us the same figure would follow him every hospital visit, but he had yet to see him this time…but we had. He didn’t know if it was an omen, his guardian angel, death himself. He died two days later after a long battle with extensive organ failures.
To this day all 5 of us nurses swear we saw death, who apparently was coming to say his last goodbye to an old friend.

I used to be a nurse before the COVID pandemic. Whenever I see those shadow figures, I routinely check up on all my patients. They usually show up before a death of a patients. Some staff members have seen ghosts instead which is different from shadow figures. Ghosts, like all living things radiate energy, but ghost radiate a different energy from normal living things. Ghosts radiate a cold energy and some light. They are not solid. On the other hand, shadow people don't radiate anything and they can move very fast.

Being in my local mall after closing is an eerie experience. My work in inventory would have me there sometimes past midnight. All of the lights and music are still on, but it's devoid of people. But far in the distance, you'll see movement. You get down there, and there's nothing. You'll hear things like babies crying or dogs barking, strange loud bangs in the distance, birds, occasional voices. Sometimes you'll hear one of the stores' roll down gates rattle like someone is shaking it. I mentioned these things to one of the night guards, and she just shrugged saying she knows. At my previous job, cook for a local gas station in a small town in eastern Pennsylvania, we would have some unusual things happen randomly. We would hear disembodied voices in areas where no one was or when there was no customers in the store. It was especially strange when I’d hear one of my colleagues say my name from an area, but they were in a different area. We’d have what sounded like a pizza pan fall on the floor in areas that wouldn’t make sense to hear the sound come from.
I had seen shadow figures on several occasions. One time, I was in the middle of cleaning the grill that we’d put hot dogs and other things on. When I happen to look up slightly and I saw what looked like someone walking past the cooler where we had different types of drinks in. I had a perfect lane of sight to see if there were someone over in that area of the store and I would be able to see what they were wearing, because there was two aisles that allowed me to see a person with nothing blocking my view. The only thing I saw when I looked up was a pair of completely black legs, basically just the knees down, walking past that area. I quickly checked to see if there was someone that had gone to the front to checkout, but there was nobody there. Another time, I was cleaning dishes from my area. The coworker that was also in the store was in the back and there was no one else in the store. We were chatting about lord knows what, when I happen to look out of the corner of my left eye and saw what looked like the shadow of somebody’s head peaking around the corner looking right at us, but it was at the height that didn’t make any sense for a person’s head to be since it was lower than the sink that I was at. I ran past my coworker to see if I could catch whatever it was that was popping it’s head around the corner but there was nothing there. My coworker asked why I ran out the back room outta nowhere. I told him what I had just seen and he didn’t know what to make of it.
When we had to close overnight, some of my colleagues would end up staying after hours to finish working the cooler and other things. I can’t confirm whether any of these happened since I was done with my shift a few hours before the store was closed due to me being the person that made food. Anyway, one of my colleagues had witnessed what she described as someone walking past the cooler doors while she was in the cooler putting product on the shelves for the next day. She would always do a double check in the store to make sure there wasn’t anyone in the store that wasn’t supposed to be in the store. She would also hear what sounded like someone opening one of the cooler doors to grab something even though there was no one else in the store.
One time when I was there for the morning shift in my area, I went in the cooler to do a temperature check, and when I walked there was a random bottle of some drink just sitting in the middle of the walkway in the cooler. I asked the two other people that were there for the morning shift in the front if they know why there was a bottle sitting in the middle of the floor and they didn’t know why it was there. We all kinda just sat there joking about it saying things like, “The Ghost must’ve gotten thirsty overnight,” and “The Ghost is playing a prank.”
On several occasions I would get this feeling of there being someone standing behind me in random parts of the store. Sometimes it would be in my area, other times it would be in a random spot like the back room. I remember feeling someone even tapping me on the shoulder to get my attention, but when I’d turn my head, there’d be nobody there.
Apparently, there was someone that worked there that had past away in the cooler from a medical condition during an overnight shift. I’m not sure if this individual could be particularly responsible for some of the activity at that gas station, but it could be possible that they’re also there. I’ve felt that there were other things that were lurking in shadows of that place. Whether it was just some random trickster spirit, a dead worker, or something much darker, I’ll never know. One thing I know is that there was definite something that called that gas station it’s home.

About 2 weeks before I was done, I noticed a pair of yellow eyes in the corner of the warehouse that never got any light at all. I didn't think anything of it until the eyes(which were close to the ground) suddenly rose up to about 3 feet off the ground which made me think it was a raccoon at first but then it darted off and scared me half to death. I'm not saying it was supernatural, it may have been some animal, but it made me carry a flashlight the rest of my time there at the very least.

My only complaint, and it really isn't one, is the wait between videos. However, I know that means you are putting together another great video. I just get itchy for more! So, thanks everyone at Bedtime Stories.
I worked for years at the oldest hospital in Tacoma, Washington, USA. It started as a railway workers' hospital, then became a sanitorium, then a full service hospital with a mental health unit.
I worked on the locked mental health unit, nights (2300-0700). And we saw, heard, and experienced a lot of "odd" things. We tended to be, on night shift, all-male. We were tasked with not only caring for up to 100 mental health patients but also were the night shift coroner's aides--going to other units to remove very recently deceased patients and taking them to a temporary morgue.
We definitely saw some strange sh**. I worked other shifts and never saw any out-of-the-ordinary things. So Simon, you are correct, our lenses seem to open up in the late nights and early mornings.
Thanks again. You are the best! BY FAR!

This reminds me of a story my dad would tell me of when he was a younger man.
There’s a hill about an hours drive west of Sydney, which was situated far from any residential areas. It was a local legend about a ghost at the bottom of this hill that would move zigzagged up toward your parked car at the top.
He and his friends drove to the top of the hill to witness this glowing entity move between the grassy swamps on either side of the road move up towards them while that sat in his car. They freaked out and drove down the hill and through the ghost to get away.
So one time my dads brother decided to be brave and get dropped off at the bottom, and told the others to flash the headlights once if the ghost was on his right or twice if it was on his left. And sure enough, as my dad retells, the ghost was right next to my uncle yet my uncle couldn’t see anything despite it being right next to him. They flashed the headlights to indicate where the ghost was but my uncle never saw it beside him.
Reminds me of the first story in this video.

I’ve worked a few night shifts at a few different care homes in my career. My current one is definitely the most strange, first shift I covered I was told to not sit in the downstairs lounge as you would hear footsteps in the upstairs corridors. Bearing in mind there is only 2 of us on shift and the majority of people who on that floor need two people to help move. One morning, when sitting in the nurses station at around 4 in the morning last year, I was just about to do a hourly night check of the building whilst my co-worker did some laundry and got the morning medication stations ready for the morning staff. So it was just me walking along this corridor, approaching a back door into the car park, and a bend going to another corridor, so I was listening to music, shinning my torch trying to not wake people up as the floor boards in the building were so loud. So I had just come out of a room, and I saw a lady in a pure white night dress and scraggly white hair looking at me from behind the wall separating the two different corridors, just briefly before turning away. My reaction as a health care professional was to run after them pressuming it was a person out of bed needing help. So it was about a 20ft run, and I looked down into this corridor and saw nothing. Checked the rooms, bathrooms and bedrooms and people were either asleep or the rooms were locked due to them being empty. No one was up, by this point my co-worker from the nurses station had heard me running from the nurses station and worried had come to check on me. As she still till this day works nights I haven’t told her about what i saw, but it’s one of the main reasons I won’t work nights there, even on day shift, when I talk about the figure near the area I saw it in, the fire door connecting the two corridors will always shut on us. Really weird place.

I'm a security officer who has been contracted for a couple big companies, like Intel and Amazon, to secure their sites and assets. I worked a couple of sites in both day, night and 24h shifts, usually in duos or trios but sometimes even alone, depending on site. I had a fair bit of paranormal experiences in my life but not many at work, or at least not many that I couldn't somehow explain in a logical and rational fashion.
One story that actually spooked the hell out of me, and still gives me creeps those couple months later, happened during winter this year, but I don't remember exactly when. I was at a 1am patrol. It was a big compound with several building that I had to walk through, checking on labs, server rooms and such. I was just finishing the floor, marking half of my overall route, checking the last server room. All normal. When I left it, however, just as I took the first step out of a server room, still holding the door, an alarm suddenly sounded right over my head. An alarm that I have never heard before and couldn't guess what it could indicate. It sounded weird, like almost like wailing. I looked up, since it was coming from directly above me, but didn't see any sensors that would give off sounds. And then, suddenly, another one starts wailing, same sound, some distance away to my right, in the kitchen and rest area. I look over there, at first alarmed at a potential danger, now simply confused. And as soon as I turned my head, another one goes off to my left, end of the corridor segment, right by the door. I look towards it, while the second sound was coming from behind a wall, here I could see that there were no sensors near those doors either. There was a smoke sensor on the ceiling, between me and the door, but it wasn't activated. And I knew the sound of it, it was different.
I'm standing there, confused and creeped out, not sure what to do exactly, for maybe half a minute, going almost deaf from those alarms, before the first one stops wailing. Then, a second later, the second dies off. Then the third. Suddenly, complete silence... except for my ears ringing. I reached for my radio and clicked it. "CCTV, come in." (I will refrain from using names). I felt relieved when a moment later the guard in the CCTV room casually replied "What's up?" on the radio. "Hey, um, have any alarms popped up in the systems?". "Nope, nothing. Something happened?" So I started explaining what I just witnessed while also walking around the floor, trying to figure out anything. After a couple of minutes of walking and going back and forth with the other guard, we just gave up. "If there's no hazards in the area, then we're clear." the other guard said. I confirmed, said I will sweep the other floors as well, especially those above me. I checked every nook and cranny but no hazards, no sensors that could sound off, nothing out of an ordinary. Then, I suddenly remembered that there were a couple of employees at the lower floor who were refurnishing some of the office spaces. So I went down to look for them. They were currently vacuuming, so I signaled them to stop and come over. Then I asked if everything's good on their part and when they confirmed, I asked if they heard the alarm. They paused, confused, looked at one another. "What alarms?". At this moment I felt cold sweat running down my temples as now I had confirmation this was not a normal situation at all. "The one that was going off on the floor above a couple of minutes back, about 20-ish minutes ago.". "No, we didn't hear anything." "Ah... okay then. Well, site seems to be safe and secure, so you don't have to worry about. But please keep an eye out and notify us if you do see anything out of ordinary." They nodded, I left, radioed in that nothing was found and site is secure before continuing my route.
I asked around for a while but apparently no one had a clue about those sounds. I was actually glad I didn't had nightshifts in the next week or so, cause I was legit creeped out. The next round I had to do that night, I was walking around with a flashlight in hand, something I had never done up to this point. iT was encouraging to know I at least have something heavy to hit with just in case [we were not allowed to carry weapons on site, even personal], even though I knew it would probably not help me much if I was suddenly attacked by a ghost or something similar.

Nocturnal mysteries are great. I remember my family moving into an apartment.
My grandma would complain that there was someone in the room with her and we assumed it was just her dementia getting worse. I woke up in the middle of the night one day and through the mirror that allowed me to see my grandma's door through it's angle, I saw a young girl wearing a kimono with plaits staring at my grandma's bedroom door. I saw her a few more times after that when I woke up in the middle of the night. After that I made a point to close my door when I went to bed so I wouldn't see her again.
Months later, my father was complaining about dreaming about a japanese girl. After that, my father invited some monks over to have the house purified and he brought a picture in, it was the picture of the same girl I kept seeing. Turns out the previous owners were japanese and after their daughter passed away in the apartment, they had sold the house to my family and moved away.

One night I was on the 4th floor of the garage. While I was putting plate info on one car, I looked and saw a figure looking out on the edge of the garage and that person had a blue shirt and white shorts. Hair flowing in the wind. It was 42 degrees F. I'm thinking why would a person wear such a thing on a cold night. As I looked down on my handheld and looked back up the figure was gone. No sound, no foot steps just silence. 😂 the way I used to get through my 3rd shift security job at an excavator plant was this channel. I was definitely freaked out a couple times, but I have a lot of memories of where I was while watching certain vids (like The Devil Made Me Do It while wandering around the building checking fire extinguishers). During covid, production was suspended and it was just me in the entire building, with one other guard at the main building. I was posted at the front desk, and there were two private bathrooms in the lobby. I wrote or played games on my laptop in between rounds so I could stay awake... and every now and then, one of the toilets would flush by itself. It was a motion sensor automatic one and it was loud af. Before production paused, one of the housekeepers had come up one night to check those bathrooms, but she heard the sound of someone in one of them (like a cough and some rustling around, like someone just moving in the bathroom) so she came back out and said she would return in a little while. I hadn't seen anyone come in but I think I had gone to the breakroom or something so I didn't think anything of it. About an hour later, since I was distracted on my laptop, I kind of forgot about it for a bit and suddenly realized when the lights turned off that no one had come out, so I went around into the lobby to see if someone needed help. Both bathrooms were unlocked and empty. The lights were off. When the housekeeper came back to ask if they had left, she stopped smiling when she saw my face. I told her that no one had ever come out. Housekeeping stopped checking that bathroom so I had to look over it at the end of my shift to make sure it wasn't dirty for visitors coming in. Honestly I wasn't too worried about the ghost, but I was more perturbed by the fact that even though the toilet flushed all the time, I never heard a sink running. Dead or not, wash yo hands.

I was in a similar job to yours years ago. I was the only guard in a building. I also worked night shift. I used to hear the 2 lifts taking turns going up & down by themselves. It would open near my front desk on the ground level. I thought nothing of it bcz back then I didn't know a lift only moves when someone presses a button to call it. I used to see the doors open, but as I was the only one in the whole building, it didn't surprise me that the lift was empty. Only years later, an electrician told me lifts don't go up or down on their own. It spooks me even now when I think about it. I'd also be checking floor by floor, there were only a few levels. An office machine would suddenly turn on by itself here or there. That did spook me, but I did enjoy my job doing the rounds. It was indoors only. I don't think I'd enjoy it anymore. I wouldn't like to be alone in a dark building at night anymore. It got cold as heck overnight too. I wasn't there too long.

I've worked a few night shifts at a supermarket and I've had one experience while there, nothing too creepy but still odd. Went to the employee bathroom at around 12:00am, nobody but me and no sounds or dripping water, nothing. Went into the first stall closest to the door and while in there I hear one of the bathroom sink's faucet sweak a bit and start to hear the sound of trickling water. Freaked me the the hell out. Nobody but me was in there, I would be able to hear the door opening and footsteps, but none of that happened.
One minute it's quiet, the next I hear the one of the bathroom faucets turn on, with me being nowhere near the thing. Get finished and wash my hands in another sink. Turn off the other one too (and the hot water handle was physically moved to the ON position) and just leave quickly.
Later talk to the night stockers and they tell me that they've had merchandise fall out of aisles like the products were forcefully pulled out by unseen hands and hear manual doors opening and closing.(the automatic doors are only in the front and are locked once the Front End Manager leaves.)
I don't think it's haunted, the building is just full of energy from all the people that go there and that energy stays and loops at times.

One of my many jobs there was to recieve carts of doors off the trucking dock and then place them on large warehouse racks until the entire order was there and could move on to the next phase of manufacturing. I ran an entire plant by myself at night. The bottom of the racks was where we placed carts and then the second shelf which was about 4 feet off the groundcwas used to place smaller orders. One night whilst working I looked through the racks and seen through bottom rack a man wearing a pair of blue jeans and tan work boots. I immediately lifted my gaze up to look through the upper shelf to see who it was. And to my complete shock and horror there was no upper body! It was literally half a person. It was fully materialized. The jeans and boots were indistinguishable from "real people" but the upper body wasnt materialized at all. It had a slight limp to its gait. I'll never forget that. Totally freaked me tf out. I've had paranormal experiences my whole life. A ton of them. I'm one of those people. I worked for a year and a half in the biggest McDonald's restaurant in Belgrade, Serbia. The restaurant is perfectly located in the center of the city, it's often full of people and it covers a large ground floor and an even larger basement area that is split into the guest area and an employee only one. Now, I can tell you about the usual horrors of working six days a week in an environment where terrible injuries, from time to time, do happen (and when I say bad I mean skin separating from the flesh of an arm that was ducked in the fryer kind of bad), while being understaffed, underpaid and overworked. But we, humans, find the unusual stuff far more interesting, so I'd like to tell you a story about "an extra crew member".
One time during the night shift my former manager and a female coworker had a fight. He was angry at her because she didn't do something he asked her to do while the restaurant was still open, so he decided to "teach her a lesson" by asking her to do most of my duties when she's got close to finishing her part of the night shift duties. That, of course, didn't make her happy and she refused. I didn't like being caught in the middle, so I tried to calm down my manager who was, in most cases, a laid back dude, but the night shift tends to bring out the worst in people. After a while I just couldn't listen to them shouting and I've went again towards the kitchen. I was hoping to stop the stupid fight by saying how I'm nearly done with my work and that I don't need any help. Now, this might sound weird, but upon my arrival from the large lobby area I was mopping I felt the air fill up with negative energy. I guess that feeling was understandable due to the heavy atmosphere created by the yelling contest. I was about to try calming them down again when the somewhat heavy metal container full of plastic spoons fell over from the shake machine in front of me. It was as if it was pushed by someone or something. The loud clank drew the attention of the two fighting and none of us were close enough to knock it over, so the three of us stared confusedly at the scene. Another coworker walked over, crouched and started to pick up the scattered spoons without even complaining about the mess created. The other two silently went on with their duties. I remember just standing there, thinking about how the whole situation was strange, then I noticed that the atmosphere had changed. It's hard for me to describe it, but the negativity disappeared and the air got really thick, it was as if I was under water and for some reason it had a calming effect on me. I entered a sort of a dazed state, I wanted to say something to the worker who was picking up the spoons, but I just slowly went back to my duties.
The next day I shared the story with some other coworkers while we were working in the kitchen and they briefly smiled and nodded while saying the name "Casper". They added how a lot of the workers have experienced something unusual and it couldn't always be explained with just their minds playing tricks on them. Most of them avoid talking about it and that's why I haven't heard any stories about the restaurant's ghost before I decided to share my experience. On the other hand, the coworker that was telling me this is a rather talkative person and it didn't take much for her to open up about a weird thing that occasionally happens to her. Her night shift duties revolve around cleaning up the employee area in the basement section, so she spends most of her night shift alone down there. To give you a better picture, the area consists of a long, narrow hallway that you can enter from the guest area of the basement, next to the entrance there is a room with washing machines and toilet supplies and on the other side of the hallway, near the end, there are stairs connecting you to the ground floor with the kitchen to the left and a restaurant's backdoor to the right. The hallway ends in a T-section that has an elevator, several rooms and also a couple of storage areas, one of which is cutely named "The Catacombs". The Catacombs room is closed by a giant old metal door and a lot of the restaurant's supplies are stored there, the room is also connected to the other underground areas, which are not owned by the restaurant and are sealed off. On rare occasions she would hear a voice coming from behind her, calling her name, but when she would stop and turn around, expecting to see a coworker in the hallway or the room she was in, nobody else was there. Her case could be explained with her just being sleepy and tired, so I said to her jokingly how she should just be grateful that the lights don't go out when that happens, which prompted a nervous laughter from her and then she replied that the workers consider the cause of these occurrences to be something that's generally friendly, hence the nickname. That got me thinking about the night before and how our "extra crew member" was perhaps just trying to stop the negativity building up further.
Moving forward, I've stopped working at McD's but I stayed in touch with a former coworker I really liked and after a couple of dates we got in a relationship. She started working there several years before me but she rarely got night shifts mostly because she's not fast enough around the sink and has a pretty face which the managers like to keep behind the cash register. As the time went by the restaurant became increasingly understaffed and the remaining workers started complaining about her not getting her share of the night shifts. She couldn't quit the job yet like I did, so she started getting used to working the night shifts too. I haven't told her about my unusual experience, she gets scared easily and I thought that it would just distract her further from the actual work. It turned out she wasn't even familiar with the general story about the unusual experiences. I didn't have to wait long before I got a call from her telling me how a weird thing has happened to her near the end of her previous night shift. She was in a changing room, getting out of her uniform, when she heard someone calling her name. She hurriedly dressed herself in her regular clothes and then she heard the voice calling out her name again only now it was louder and had a demanding tone. She quickly finished and rushed out from the changing room into the nearby crew room, expecting to see the person that was calling for her, but the room was empty. She then quickly went towards the long hallway and up the stairs towards the kitchen where she bumped into another female coworker. My girlfriend asked her if she was the one calling for her to which she replied that she wasn't and that she didn't hear anyone else yelling for her from the ground floor. She explained that she was silently washing some of the remaining kitchen elements when she heard the backdoor violently slam shut, so she went to check what's going on. Sometimes the workers leave the backdoor unlocked after their cigarette break or in order for the morning shift workers to enter, but still, there was no reasonable explanation for the heavy metal door to open and slam itself shut by itself. They opened the door expecting to see one of the coworkers outside smoking, but the surrounding area was empty.

A sad story of a young boy paralyzed from the neck down, who passed away one evening, but was he really dead at the time when the nurse discovered him dead? Some people do come back, even if it's just for a few moments. How and why, he left his bed, reasons unknown? mind over matter? or something alien related lifted him from his death bed? then Amilio returned back to his bed to make his passing final, and no longer interested in his life any further, and decided to move on, to be with the Lord... I kind of have a night shift story to relate. I was the "unofficial nightwatch guard" in my corner of the street. Because I had no friends and nothing better to do, and also I have messed up biological clock... Night is my day and vice versa...
In many nights I would be just on my phone wathing videos, messaging a few people and suddenly I would hear a voice screaming at a distance... A woman, begging for help! I would try to follow the voice be I could never find the origin... It was like it was moving around the street... It was super creepy, and this happened a few times and for years. the same voice screaming at a distance and begging for help... Since I got into college and have friends I am not the "unofficial nightwatch guard"... So I have not heard this voice in a while...
I would also see kind of shadow people, but more like "light people", like a kind iluminated silluete of a person on my periphereal vision... And also shadow people like proper shadow people but it was rare
I also would see a old man underneath the trees in front of my house, he would be just there, seemed to be staring back at me but idk, maybe he was just gazing at nothing in particular... But when looked better, there was no one there. But if just turned my gaze in the general diretction, he would be there again...
But by far the most horrofying was when I got back in to my house, fed my dog and was about to clean the dog's mess, I heard noises...

Thanks for sharing. I've heard similar stories about "screaming", and it's almost as if whatever it is, is attempting to lure people away from their homes or vehicles. Your story reminded me of some things that happened when I was younger. A lot of people are not believers, but bear with me.
Right after I was saved, I began having encounters with what I refer to as spiritual beings. When looking directly at them, I couldn't see them, but I could make out their figure from the corner of my eyes. The vast majority of them were sinister, to say the least. They would do varying things, from sitting on the bed at night, pulling my sheets off, and even grabbed my leg and tried to pull me off the bed. I woke up one morning with large bruises in the shape of a hand on my arm and leg. One even attempted to manifest itself. I watched a dark cloud come in through the window, and began to form itself, almost in the shape of a man. I also began having vivid, reoccuring dreams of a faceless man dressed in all black, carrying a huge black dog on a leash.
The worst night, was when something happened that many consider to be "sleep paralysis", but I was wide awake. Some large creature was sitting on my chest, with its elbow pushing into my throat. There were also two little imp looking beings next to the bed, dancing around what looked like an altar, chanting something that I could not understand. They were performing a ritual. When I tried to rebuke it in Jesus' name, the being on me pushed down so hard that I couldn't breathe or speak.
The next part is even stranger to me. What I can only describe as a voice from within began yelling at them to get out. After 3 times, they vanished, and a tangible peace flooded the room. Needless to say, those experiences changed the way I view the world we live in.

My experiences have been mostly sinister, with what I assume to be the same being (It's some kind of demon, I think it came from a "culty" church I live right beside).
My first encounter; I was getting ready for bed (I was a younger teen, maybe earlier) after watching a cryptid show with my family. I had yet to turn out the lights in my room cause I was fixing my bed when I got this mental warning of "don't look out your window."
I tried to ignore this thought but my curiosity got the better of me especially when it sounded like rocks were hitting the wall outside. I looked out the window to see a demon squatted down looking straight up at me, I stared it straight in the eyes for a brief second. It has red glowing eyes and looked exactly like a Bigfoot (cliche I know, but it's what it looked like).
Then it threatened me mentally, yes it did "mind-speak" or whatever you wanna call it. It said that it could make me vanish, and nobody would ever find a trace. In addition, it said for me to always have my guard up at night because it might just try to get me.
I've seen it since, it's always off in the distance just.. watching.
I've had experiences that are just weird and random too. One time my brother and I had a ghost call out to us while we were heading inside a local gas station, broad daylight too.
Unexplainable voices I've encountered a lot. Some of them I think were actually my dogs telepathically communicating with each other.
My brother has encountered some weird voices too, with what seems to be the same two entities. They sound like two little kids, a boy and a girl. I've heard them a few times.
When my brother and I were both younger we'd hear them calling out our names from a place just out of view. One time I swear the "girl" (or whatever they are) chased me as I crossed my family's property once and lightly pushed me down. I heard her giggle behind me but there was nothing there when I turned around a moment later.
My brother had a particularly unsettling experience with them one day as we had to get outside for the bus at dark.
He could hear two voices whispering to each other outside the door before he got there, he could tell it was a girl and a boy.
As he touched the doorknob the girl said very audibly, "Shh he's coming hide!" Or something along those lines.
For the final experience, me and my brother communicated with a deceased relative in our basement. (During daytime).
He got an app that allowed EVP. We're pretty sure it was our dad's dad. I never got the feeling it was malicious. We talked about some stuff about the future (like what was going to happen to America). It used names that soldiers who fought in Vietnam would've used to describe certain enemies.
I felt uneasy that entire time sitting and listening to it.. not because I felt like I was in danger, but it seemed to have a mental disorder. The way it talked, it didn't sound mentally right. Not insane sounding, but how someone with Schizophrenia or something similar would talk like.

Bedtime Stories never disappoints. This installment reminds me of when I was a young man, working the over night shift as a security guard at the local hospital. Because people die at all hours, the head nurse insisted that we know how many "spaces" were available in the morgue refrigerator at any given time. So on my walking rounds I had to venture into the basement, alone, where the morgue was located. Unlock the door and enter the autopsy room, open the body refrigerator to see how many occupants were inside. All this at 2 or 3 in the morning. I witnessed nothing paranormal, but I didn't last long at that job. I got to the point where I would just jiggle the doorknob on the morgue and walk quickly away. I shudder whenever I think of that job.

Have you ever considered an Australian related episode? I'm English and migrated here back in 2015. Coming from a very old rural location in England, I would assume I would have had more spooky experiences in my home town, however, I have had more paranormal and ghostly happenings here in Australia. Everything from Yowies to poltergeists! In fact, I lived in such a haunted home that we ended up moving out. It even had what looked like a protective spell or curse drawn in chalk under the welcome mat! Happy to share my stories if you're interested in compiling an Aussie episode. I reckon I could fill 20 minutes easily!

They have one related to the Australian outback. It's in their strange encounters on the highway episode. Really spooky and highly recommend.

@@alfonsosalinas3026 ah yes, I may have seen that one. And I think the UFO school sighting down in Melbourne was mentioned too, it was pretty famous over here. However I'm more interested in the ghost stories myself.

I was raised in a most haunted house in Melbourne. It was a deceased estate when my parents bought it long ago. I can't tell you how relieved I was to get the hell out of there. I left 30 years ago. That home, or it's spooky occupants still, on occasion, come to haunt me in my nightmares. It still terrifies me. I can't forget about the hauntings down the years. I still think of those times. I live in Perth these days. I have experienced hauntings wherever I went, though not frequently as I did in Melbourne, and thank God for that. Problem is I've been living alone for a few years now & feel fair game - and NO it's not my imagination. A few things have occurred here recently too. I've always wanted to write a book about my experiences, and a thick tome it would be too.

I heard about the Alaska Triangle. Creepy as.
I saw it on CZcams, something about I Won't Ever Go Back to Alaska. Look up the Alaska Triangle. Scary how SO MANY ppl have disappeared there, just vanished & never to be seen again. A woman was only driving back to her home after having dinner at her friend's place, just doing normal every day stuff. What's going on over there?

I used to work graveyard at a chain pharmacy-convenience store, before that location in particular switched to a non-24hr schedule, and it became clockwork for odd things to happen in the middle of the night and for me and whichever shift manager I had that schedule, because we were the two sole people in the building, aside from the _very_ infrequent customer. Things would get knocked off shelves (with more force than them just "falling" from being placed odd -- this was the most common occurrence I dealt with) and the automatic doors, which were well-maintained, would open and close with no one being anywhere near them at the time. The back hallway of the store that held the bathrooms and break room was also extremely unsettling, to the point that one of my shift leads refused to go back there at any point before the store's opening time. I never saw any figures or shadows, but it wasn't uncommon to hear faint things from across the store, especially when my SL was right next to me, or somewhere else but never in the particular area that it came from.
I can't say I ever enjoyed that job, but that was mostly because of the handful of robberies I had to deal with, rather than whatever the hell was in that store.

Kinda miss my first job was a night shift Civil Engineer for a new hospital building right beside numerous existing hospital buildings and 2 huge cementeries. That was 6pm to 8 am since I was in charge of concreting works mainly and they were only done at night. I also had to inspect rebar and formworks deliveries that were left in the Chinese cemetery only at night. The portable toilets were right behind a morgue still in use. Thankfully I didn't have much experiences. Except for one time when I went to the cemetery to inspect and unload a formworks delivery. i saw a disembodied hand with a cellphone from afar coming out of a mausoleom. I thought it was my rigger waiting for me. I went and checked the mausoleom and it was empty. My arm hairs stood and I felt a chill I booked it and ran back to my workers and got them to accompany me.

I was working late in my office which is a high security building. I was on my own on the 2nd floor and finished working at around midnight. It’s an old building so I decided to take the stairs instead of risk getting stuck in the lift. I was between floors where the stairs changes direction and I looked back up where I’d come from. A completely black figure emerged from a solid wall and walked from left to right, disappearing into another solid wall. The worst thing was that it was hunched over in a ‘theatrical’ kind of tip toe movement as it moved. I ran down the remaining stairs but had to use a pass to open every single door before I could get outside, it was terrifying. I still walk down those stairs most days but I’ll never work there at night again.

You get used to the overnight shift after a while. Creeped me out at first but eventually I got to a point where I would go in the basement to take a 30 minute nap with the lights turned off. Although I've never worked completely alone, there was always someone else somewhere in the building.
