Nico, Mal ne andere (zugegebenermaßen kritische) Frage zu dem Wagen: Stromsparen ist ja das Eine, aber wie sieht es denn mit dem CO2-Fußabdruck des Autos aus? Jede Menge Aluminium, Magnesium, Carbon, was alles irre viel Energie im Herstellungsprozess benötigt. Mich würde Mal interessieren, wie viele km man das Auto fahren muss, um den Gewichtsvorteil durch die leichteren Materialien rauszufahren gegenüber dem energetischen Mehraufwand. Du hast da sicherlich gute Connections zu Mercedes um das zu erfragen :-)

I thinks it's so important Mercedes are pushing range without just scaling up the battery. Even with solid state batteries in the future, minimising the total weight and environmental impact from construction is a major win.
And, of course, who knows what's gonna happen with solid state batteries: I've been hearing about how they're just round the corner for over a decade, and while it seems likely we will eventually get them, they could still be a while off. Doing all this with current batteries is a Big Deal.
@@gsnedders_legacy I guess its similar to sustainable nuclear fussion in that sense. Theoretically we know it's possible, but actualising it in a commercially viable sense hasn't happened yet.
I have more hope for solid state batteries given that Toyota appears to be actively testing them and have revealed realistic plans to launch them commercially. Now there's such competition in the market, companies have a real impetus to get there first.

The lucid Air can drive 800km at 110km/h, or approach 1000km in city driving, without compromising interior/cargo space and performance
@@USUG0 I think the battery is about 20% larger and obviously improving efficiency past a certain point becomes harder and harder.
@@USUG0 Nobody is saying that such range isn't otherwise doable; of course it is, if you keep on adding batteries and weight. The Lucid Air is half a ton heavier than the EQXX, which is absolutely going to compromise performance.

Turning up to a Mercedes event in an Audi - Nico, Nico, Nico 😁. What a car though - Mercedes showing yet again the technological advances they are capable of (just not in F1 at the moment). I don't like the rear styling but understand why it needs to be like that. It reminds me a little of the C111. Nice job Nico, can't wait to see the AMG One 👍
Why do people hate that rear end so much? I think it's easily the sexiest part of the car. Reminds me of those long tail Le Mans racers.

I love the design of the EQXX, the clash between modern/aggressive front and the retro futuristic back in this teardrop shape is just wow to me. Did i talk about the dark blue interior and details? I love it.

I like the look of it, it reminds me of a classic from the 50's or 60's.
100% on the rear and side profile....if you were to mix a Citroën SM with a Ferrari 250 GT, then make it into a cartoon car in the Jetsons it would be this vehicle.

The interior of the EQXX looks like a combo on a Bugatti and a Panamerica with the 4 zones. Love the colour combo and that 8K screen is GORGEOUS!!
The ext design is not my cup of tea but a huge tip of the hat for that .17 drag co efficiency number. Luv that extender 2.
The materials used lend me to conclude that the price point is NOT for the masses but there s/b a number of components, features, options that will trickle down thru MB's line up.
I'm all about luxury, performance, tech but most of all my daily MUST look fantastic.
Looking forward to hearing all about the AMG 1 and see how you put it thru it's paces.

I love what Mercedes is doing there, weight saving, eco friendly interior, but what I truly hated about the video, you invite Nico and don't let him drive it? I'm pretty sure this isn't a race car and if you would tell him to be gentle he would have been but this is really cringe. I'm still happy to see the future :) But come on :D

Looking forward to Mercedes to catch up in the EV space and in F1 alike, the EQXX looks much more promising than what they have so far, including the quiet overpriced EQS without a heatpump. Good to see they have one in the EQXX. Mercedes seems to be taking the right steps right now in EVs and F1 :D, maybe in baku where you can at least overtake on the long straight we can see Lewis and George show some nice performance :)

It may just be me, but some of the design ques remind me of the FD RX7. The wheel arches and slope of the front, and even the profile a bit. Beautiful cars, both of them.

I have always said manufacturers need extreme distance options. I drive 700-1200km trips multiple times a month. I’m glad Mercedes is offering an option that would be usable in my case use.
So you drive 1000km without a break? xD
@@simonabt71 I spent 2 years driving 840 miles (1350 km) to a city and back 2 days later. I would do the drive with one brief gas stop. I realize I’m the extreme, but the 500km range can feel light for heavy drivers such as myself.
