Hi, can I ask you for any further information? I did more or less the same job as you by assembling carburettors on the Tohatsu 50, I wanted to know which jets did you assemble? because in the 50 there are 135s, perhaps too big, then I wanted to ask if there are advantages to shortening the muffler and how to do it? Thank you
I lost all of them when I dropped my phone in the river. Stupid me didn't back it up smh. The motor ran really good until the crank bearings failed. I was using a high quality racing oil at 40 to 1 pre mix and it still failed. I did hit something on bottom and I believe it messed up the crank press because my flywheel had a wobble after impact. Awesome motor!
new carbs, exhaust and reeds and ur engine is 50hp. 40 and 50hp yamaha 2 strokes have the same powerhead. yamaha 50 pro is another engine, that one has the same powerhead as a 70 yamaha
You need the carbs from a 3 cylinder tohatsu/nissan 40hp or from the 2 cylinder Yamaha 25hp. I used the original Yamaha 30hp throttle shafts that already have the proper linkages. The choke linkage was made from a piece of aluminum welding filler stick. I opened up the intake to match the carb bores as well.
@@jaywagner13 Either it doesn't matter. Honestly it's not worth the trouble. I spent too many hours dialing in that motor when I could've bought a 50hp and I did just that. I gained 2 or 3 miles per hour without worrying about the motor flying apart lol
Yes it was faster until I hit a rock and twisted the pressed crank shaft. It pushed my boat just shy of 40 mph. I have a 2009 yamaha 50hp 2 stroke now and it's just a tad faster.
Jamie Nichols Nice , Reason I asked was - I've got one of these that I'm going to put on my Aqualoop. In my video of it - it's got a 25 hp Evinrude. I figure this 30 Yami is going to be a big difference. And - What prop pitch you use with it? If you check out my video of the boat - you'll see it's Perdy small and light. I'm thinking I'll try maybe a 13p or - what do you think?
I used a powertech SRA3 13P. It's really good at running with the motor jacked up high to reduce drag for more speed. I basically had all of this without spending a ton of money www.shop.hydrotecmarine.com/product.sc?productId=116&categoryId=2

how much did you advance the timing?
sir, i have 0ld 30hp 3 cylinder use for race , .. max speed just 65mph. any idea to get 75mph ?
65 is flying! My old hull was a turd. I ran 40 mph with the 30hp and I only gained a couple of mph when I tried a Yamaha 50hp 2 stroke.
@@jamienichols6277 haha.. not flying if setting is good. we use tunnel hull.. also have 40hp . got max speed 77mph.
@@wedjmy9120 I had a flat back canoe. The hull flexed pretty bad and it caused lots of issues.
Area mana bro? Sy pun ada 30 3cylinder.. Tp lama dh tak jln.. Nak repari balik

I am doing this mod of eliminating oil injection.how did you bypass the oil sensor unit?
Just unplug
Any videos of it running?

I have a 2 stroke 40hp Yamaha , what are some mods i can do for more power and top end speed ?
Check out The Boat Racing Facts forum. There's lots of info there.

Would like to know how you matched up the carbs. Got a Yamaha 30 I’m wanting to build.

Mind giving me some pointers? Can send you my number

@@jamienichols6277 can u only do these mods on a tiller model motor?

Ok. But did it actually work? Does it make more power? yes it revs - but stronger?
Yes it was faster until I hit a rock and twisted the pressed crank shaft. It pushed my boat just shy of 40 mph. I have a 2009 yamaha 50hp 2 stroke now and it's just a tad faster.
It also had reed blocks from a 50hp yamaha with Chris Carson race reeds, Cut exhaust tuner and mild port work. I would estimate it made around 45hp.
