    I agree with the constant little jobs. Builders always say " i bet you love these massive jobs to go at" but I'm like you I'd rather skim a couple of patches a day for the same money

    Always great to see you've uploaded another banger buddy, and this was no exception. Only a master could deliberately gouge his work and fill it in no sweat! And close-ups like 17:00 with all that detail are so helpful.
    Your phone ringing nearly made me leap out of my seat though haha!
    Oh, and the beef is melting away now I've noticed ;)

    I've been telling lads for years bare plaster doesn't necessarily need sealed before patching up obviously if an entire wall is being reskimmed then seal it up but most will not have it they have to pva or sbr those patching jobs ,good to see a video that others do it too , top stuff pal

      Its not easier though is it ? Ffs. For what it is just give it a lick . No point wrestling with a set wall is there

    I've learnt something from this, brilliant. I find my blending in to be a bit inconsistent and ill definitely take this approach on bare plaster. Do you think you could show the method you use when blending or feathering over a painted surface that you've had to seal? Is it the same? Wetting every pass etc? Is it just harder to blend over a sealed surface rather than a bare saturated surface?
    Thanks

    When I do those types of jobs I just skite over the original plaster with a hand sander and then wet it before plastering just to give it a wee key

    Being a plasterer myself you can't do that. If that plaster your plastering over, is well polished and not tough with a key, it's like plastering on glass. Over time the plaster will peal over the new plaster underneath

      @simontemple4664 Před rokem +1

      been a plasterer over 30 years,and i agree with your comment.could dry out and crack aswell....trying to blend in without pva on a high suction background is silly.....if your worried about the glue peeling into the skim ,make a slighter weaker mix ,it works a treat........

    Not avving it this is easier . I patch in using pva all the time . Brush and feather in the edges . What's the problem ? Especially spreading on skim , obviously nothings impossible but there's no way this is easier
