- Invited by the Fell Wanderer, that North-East legend of wild camping, to a night at his secret camp in a Northumbrian Forest
Sausages were good.
Curry was better.
I was also joined by a few familiar faces:
James Larsen (aka Lundy), Mountainhopper57 and the curry making legend that is Roney
@Fell_Wanderer
@LundysWildcampBushcraft

Love Northumberland beautiful and peaceful 😊.
Couldn't agree more, it’s a lovely county to explore. Lots of space, moor, forest, hill and coast, ATB, Graham 👍
The faces only a mother could love..
😂😂 Well I can't argue otherwise in my case 😂
We do love the fell wonderer😊. When he pulls the funny face hes like someone off Benny hill show😆. Great stuff👍🏼🙏😊
He’s a proper original, a true one-off, very generous with his knowledge as well, was good to meet up with him 👍😂
@grahamswildcamping totally agree. Love all them guys truly 😊. From too long ago as I care to admit.. been lucky enough to follow Daves wildcamping bombshelter era films through to all his mates coming along(you all know who you are(fat and skinny Robs)😊. Daz coombes aaaw.)❤️🙏👍🏼😳👏👏
Dave was one of the first wild campers I watched on CZcams, he had a great blog as well, that was useful for a newbie like me.
Loved it, particularly around 1:30 in with the contemplation with bird song, comedy gold
Ah, cheers buddy! The juxtaposition of two extremes and the confoundment of ones expectations: always makes me laugh too 👍👍
Saved for later 👍. FW is great
He is, isn’t he? Living legend of NE wildcamping 👍
Amazing spot im jealous 😂
No need to be jealous- just get out and do a bit of wild camping, you know it makes sense! TFW, ATB, Graham 👍
Enjoyed the video mate. Those sausages looked very tasty.😉
Thanks very much, they were good: that farm shop knows it’s stuff! ATB, Graham 👍😂
Looks like you all had a fun night! Great part of the world for a wild camp too!
It was a really good night, not often I get an invite from a wild camping legend!
Great video Graham. Those sausages are lush! Might have to go get some now.

Thank you. They’re all canny lads that lot, 👍
@@grahamswildcamping you included 👍
Thanks man, that’s appreciated 😄👍
Looked like a good camp Graham 👍, great just to whack the tarp up and get the bivy out in the woods and chill out. Spot on mate, atb Mick 👍
Thank you, yeah it was a good little night. Good to escape from the madness every now and then, ATB, Graham 👍
Nice one GB, looked great craic ! 👍
It was marra, those lads are canny 👍👍
I watched this one last night on the big telly. Nice to see you out with some north-east legends, in the woods, having what must have been a right good laugh. Love the idea of the anaesthetic forceps 😂😂 I use a urine specimen tube to keep salt & pepper in lol.
You need to give those handwarmers a good shake to activate whatever's inside and they heat up really fast. I've had mine last over 12hrs before, they're great for keeping the chill off, and it did look chilly there, it always is in that forest. Cheers Graham, TFS :)
It was great meeting folk who I’ve watched on CZcams- legends all!
I love the idea of a urine specimen bottle as an oil/ condiment container! I’m totally stealing that lol!
I’ve got reynaulds disease so those hand warmers were a revelation- didn’t realise they were so effective. Nice to hoy a couple down the foot end of the sleeping bag as well.
TFW Donna, ATB, Graham 👍👍
Great video, mate, I enjoyed that. I'm planning on getting out in the woods with the tarp soon, and watching this has got wanting to get out there asap! New sub 👍🏼
Thanks for the sub- always much appreciated 👍 Yep, just get out and do it, great to spend a night with a tarp, ATB, Graham 👍👍

Thanks Adrian. It was a bit different from my usual camps, a lot of fun and good craic 👍
"You Know It Makes Sense" , enjoyed the visit recommend because of being linked to Damiens channel. Love the Harwood Forest experience visually via YT - never been there personally but always there in spirit... 👍
Thanks for watching, yep, Harwood is a good place to explore and camp, lots of varied terrain, ATB, Graham 👍👍

@@grahamswildcamping Thought I left a longer message than this last night. Just wanted to say thanks for the kind words, you did a good job of capturing the atmosphere of the night, enjoyed every minute of it. Hopefully get out again soon in the not so distant future, ATB.

Yes, it was a grand night with some grand folk, catch up soon Jimmy 👍👍
What a fantastic camp site! But how can such a large camp with a gigantic BLUE teepee remain hidden?? Forgive my ignorance but is this private land? Public land? Can you camp on public land or is that even a thing? In the USA we have National Forest land, you can camp nearly anywhere and although there are some rules where you can't camp they are never enforced. Consequently if you want some privacy and alone time with nature you have to really go out of your way so I have my own "private" camp sites, remote enough that no one ever goes there but me and I can find them even in the dark. I'd love to come to the UK and camp and explore! I guess I'd have to leave the hand gun at home! 😂😂😂
Hi, thanks for the question. The situation in the UK is varied depending in which country you are in. Wild camping is allowed in Scotland (which is fortunately close to me). In most of England it is a civil offence (trespass) but not a legal offence as long as you move on if asked to. The exception to this is Dartmoor where wild camping is allowed. It is, of course, legal to pitch anywhere with the permission of the landowner.
In practice, wild camping is generally tolerated as long as certain unwritten rules (which are mostly common sense) are abided by:
Pitch late and leave early
No large groups or family size tents
No fires
No pitching near civilisation: camp high and wild
Leave no trace
Move on if asked to
Generally blend in to the landscape and don't make a nuisance of yourself
The camp I was invited to (with the blue tepee) is in a dense and large forest which is why I think it has remained largely undiscovered.
Yeah, you probably wouldn't need your gun. No bears!
Thanks for watching and ATB, Graham 👍
It’ll be interesting to see everyone’s vids, I think yours will be the most family friendly offering 😂 A chilly looking morning, hope you all stayed cosy overnight
Ha! I think so too- and hence probably the shortest 😂 ATB, Graham 👍
About documenting what happened on that wild night, you are developing you're own style Graham. Like any good teller of the tale, you did well and can say it in less time which delivers less but keeps the audience wanting more if that makes sense lol?..
Graham I’ve had to come to Moorhouse Farm Shop for some of those sausages! Top tip!
@chezzahurst6294 they’re the best! You won’t be disappointed! I should be on commission 😂👍
@@grahamswildcamping I did put a good word in for you and mentioned your channel! I could’ve spent a month’s wages quite happily but settled for the Toulouse sausages, casserole lamb, a haggis, some chutney and a bottle of Percy Special to warm the cockles. What a find!
Fab one! Haha that looked a great time!👍 What is Roneys website?
Thanks Louise, I don’t think Rooney has a website but he has an Instagram ‘rooney_oot_and_aboot’
ATB, Graham 👍👍
Great video mate, great to see a bunch of people I follow on CZcams all out together, I need to do some woodland camps, will start searching, always inspirational, cheers.
Thanks very much, it was nice to spend a night with all those lads, ATB, Graham 👍👍
