Exactly so many insecure people there also if you take your workout serious in there and you're a real lifter you get the weirdest looks they call it a judgement-free Zone oh yeah but if you're a bodybuilder or a serious person you will get judged the place where all the insecure assholes can go and talk shit about everybody else and eventually yeah you will get people that will snitch on you for no reason something that had nothing to do with them or just something that bothered them that wasn't even near them that's what makes it even more funny
yea i think "lunk alarm" is more of "they are putting too much wear and tear on equipment. if a member acualy ges 3-5 days a week they doing more than 10$ wear and tear.

I always felt bad vibes at Planet Fitness. They are supposed to be a judgement free zone and yet thats the only gym I felt hostility and condescending attitudes from.
Honestly throughout my years that I've been to planet Fitness I never experienced none of the stuff that everybody's complaining about, I'm assuming you all are just a bunch of lunks 😅🤣😂.
100,000% agreed. They literally have commercials that degrade bodybuilders/powerlifters. There's a planet fitness where I live that would make my life a million times more convenient, but I will NEVER go there. 🖕Except maybe to take a crap in, because that's all its good for. 🙅♂️

Yeah I quit for the same reasons. My water bottle was too big. Not allowed to grunt out your last rep. Have to schedule the massage beds even when there is nobody back there. I love how the judgment free zone has a lunk alarm for when you drop a weight or accidentally clang the plates.

So I think a lot of you are crying too much. I do agree the lunk alarm is lame but let's be honest the only time you really drop weight is from deadlifting. There are no squat racks true.
But for 10 dollars a month you can get a damn good workout. For example I used the dumbells yesterday to bench for my push day (delts, chest, tricep and cardio)
1/3 of a mile jog treadmill
Facepulls using the cable machine
65lbs DBs 3x8 bench press
3x12 Lateral raises with 10lb dumbell >>Super set with - 15 Pushups on the floor
Shoulder press machine never done one before, usually do strict pressing off of a squat rack. It was nice still.
Tricep workout on the cable machine
Finished with jogging more and stretching.
This was my first time being there though. I fed off the looks people gave me.

I signed up for the same reason, 24/7 and they're everywhere, very convenient. First day there was also my last. They have an incredibly ridiculous dress code, their equipment sucks, the staff is constantly watching what you do, the male manager walks around the women's bathroom checking lockers and leaves notes threatening to cut off locks if they stay on after you leave (he had took pictures of locks in place). That was all crazy to me. I cancelled the next day and resumed my membership with Crunch where these type of shenanigans don't happen.
A freakin duffel bag bahhahahaha. I’m dying. All well man, time to move on and let the cowards be. Maybe that was to “judge mental” of me lol.

You made the right decision. I've never stepped foot in a Planet Fitness because too many people who take their workouts seriously have been rebuked like you have. Also, their ads are false. I work out at 24 hour and I've never felt judged by any meatheads. There are many different shapes and sizes that work out there. I'll gladly pay extra for those membership fees for a gym that let's me workout. The issue with Planet Fitness is they're making money on people's insecurities. Ironically, they are projecting their judgments on people who are in better shape. Besides, I think most people in the gym including the body builders would say good on the obese persons coming in to take better care of themselves.

Planet Fitness is the worst gym I have ever been a member of. The staff every morning looks like they are working off a hangover from the night before. A location in CT won't let members wear a weight vest on the stair machine to train for a CPAT test to become a career firefighter. They do allow members to come in the gym under the influence, smelling like alcohol, wearing workboots and jeans, play on their phones while using weight benches as park benches and leave free weights everywhere after use. When you are going heavy, the staff increases the frequency of walking by you like you are doing something wrong and gives you dirty looks. If Wal Mart had a child, it would be a Planet Fitness.
Honestly they wanted you to quit, you've been continuously working out and that poses a problem to their business as they don't want serious gym goers in their gym. They want people who sign on, eventually stop going and can't be bothered to cancel their subscription because hey it's just 10 bucks.

You might want to consider buying a few pieces of cheap gym equipment and create your own gym at home. There are places you can buy equipment for cheap. Get yourself an adjustable bench, a barbell, some plates a few sets of dumbells depending on how heavy you need, a chinup tower so you can do pullups, chinups and dips maybe a weight belt if you want to ever do weighted chins and dips. Get a squat rack, maybe also consider getting a close grip handle so you can mimic a seated row movement either using a barbell or chinup movement on the power tower. That's really all you need. Screw planet fitness and many of these gyms.

I joined one PF Friday and quit the following Friday. I went back to my PowerTek home gym + extras under a carport and fans running. In the 1970s I went to Orange avenue gym which was a free weight gym. No AC just a bunch of big fans. Mostly bodybuilding. Great Bodybuilder owner set me up with a program. I'm 66. Sounds like BS to me. Never had lunk alarm. Jesus imagine looking down on Fit power lifters and bodybuilders. I think those people inspire me. It was comical to watch these PF people perform their strange goofy exercises. PF you have about 4 teens just checking people in.

Bro... if you don't like it... you can always work out at home or invest in your own gym. Planet fitness was created so that there are RULES. Some people like the rules, so they join that gym; some people don't, so they avoid that gym... Try going to 24hrs fitness... where you have to wipe off other people's sweat, pick up after other people's weights, be ready to get into a fight with some asshole that's on roides... and dealing with dumb ass that park their sh*t by a machine so that others can't use it...

I must go to a great planet fitness location. I’ve never had any problems at all. I do think sometimes they are dumb with the lunk alarm. One time I lightly dropped weights and they hit the alarm really quickly. I was kinda mad about that, but in my 5 months there, that was the only issue. The staff is nice tho and I know most on a first name basis. Really nice crew
J Celj I just sign up yesterday and went today, the staff are nice people I saw no problem with the gym I heard dumbbells being dropped but not the lunk alarm if it did sounded I didn’t hear it because I was with my airpods on listening to music, I will say that the gym is great for beginners idk about body builders tho. I seen a lot of review about this gym and mostly the problem isn’t the gym but the people and free pizza, I don’t mind the free pizza once a month I mean other peoples uses cheat day once a week so once a month wouldn’t hurt nobody.
I’ve seen people vaping in planet fitness and they don’t do anything about it, PF is the worst gym ever. The 24 hr is the only reason I’ve stayed and I can find a place during travel if hotel gym sucks. Now they have found they can use the pandemic, ( covid is here to stay at this point ) to close at 10 pm weekdays and 8 pm on weekends and have only caused more crowded times. Mr tattoo at the counter couldn’t give a shit about anything but sitting on his cell. I’m outta here as soon as Crunch opens up in my town
They're a joke of a "gym." The no judge zone judges those of us who are serious about getting into shape. And apparently no judgment zone translates into no rules and gym etiquette. I can't believe they complained about you filming and you and your buddy taking up a machine when ppl routinely take up machines while they chat with their friends and take selfies. I joined simply for the convenience of distance and 24 hr access. Other then that, PF can kick rocks.

I typically use my home gym, well worth the extra effort and expense. I produced a treadmill video, a couple of years ago. I shot the store front and they definitely noticed. I don't blame them, their toys, their rules. The accusations about dropping weights and monopolizing equipment. I BET that individual has her wires crossed. It's too bad.

I'm no massive gym bro, but I've always disliked the vibe of this gym, always feel like I'm working out in a library. But I used it for the 24 hrs and the cheap monthly fees and put up with the bad. But in the Era of Covid they've become completely insufferable. I know gyms in PA have to do masks to stay open right now. But PF is just so damn....cheery...about it. Social Fitnessing (tm), be Cleansiderate (tm). Haha, heehee, it's FUN. I took a long, brisk walk in long johns in freezing weather last night and it was much more enjoyable than being in a planet fitness. Apparently I have to go there and break up with them to their faces XD.

Nobody bothers me it powerhouse ever no people no workers nobody.. I watched the guy at work manager Adam Crowder at the planet fitness in Canton Ohio watch somebody lift and weights staring at him and watching him for a long time. Then Adam Crowder the manager would talk to the guy about lifting weights that really did me in so a year after I worked out at planet fitness I canceled my membership and it was the best thing I could do.

Planet Fitness is truly a horrible company.
Judgement free unless you're actually an example of discipline and health and fitness - then you're the problem. Planet Fitness is a place designed to make out of shape, lazy, undisciplined people feel better about being out of shape, lazy and undisciplined. They are doing a disservice to their members with their "you're perfect just the way you are" message and then become hypocrites when they turn around and demonize those who they should hold up as the examples to those same members. My gym is right near a Planet Fitness and a Starbucks - I have literally seen extremely fat, out of shape people walk out of Planet Fitness without even breaking a sweat, then walk directly into Starbucks and buy a 1200 calorie Venti Frapachino and the problem is not that these people are fat but that the message they get from the one place that should be encouraging them to live a healthy lifestyle tells them that this is ok. Even the people who work there and sell memberships are fat and out of shape.

I go to O2 Fitness it used to be Gold's Gym around here but they got bought out and only reason why I went to Planet Fitness was because like you man 24 hours that's it cheap 24 hours that's only at it's more of like a place I go in the other places are closed and not going to lie you won't get much motivation there lot of insecure people go there and nobody there takes there workout serious you are a limited there but usually when it comes to your leg day there I usually just take everybody's plates of course I get the mean looks but fuck it!! Nobody there does leg day anyway
