If Kevin Feige asked YOU what you wanted to see from the live-action X-Men films, what would you say?

I'd start with a modified roster. That's an unpopular choice, but I don't feel that the original X-Men as a team were all that interesting until the All-New All-Different era. Plus, the sooner you get Storm specifically in on the action, and the more time you give her, the more X-Men feels like a deliberate attempt at representation and not just an allegory.
So the original 5 for my movie treatment would be Cyclops, Iceman, Storm, Nightcrawler, and Jean Grey. Beast could also be around as Xavier's TA or something, he always came off older and slightly apart from the rest of the group anyway. Have Iceman come out early, maybe with an unrequited crush on Kurt or something, so that Kurt can see that his appearance isn't off-putting for everyone he meets. I would also say put Storm in charge of the team, but Cyclops as the strategist, in a sort of co-leader situation, Ororo being better at rallying the troops while Scott is better with the logic and battle plans.
Jean should definitely be an emotional anchor for Scott, setting up their relationship. In fact, I feel like her role should start out almost purely supportive, the better to bring her to the forefront when it's time for the Big Bad Burny Bird to show up. Not that she should be useless, but her abilities lie in psychic networking, or telepathically confusing enemies, or using her telekinesis to protect her teammates from bullets and the like, rather than being a psychic powerhouse right off the bat. Storm is an inspirational figure, but she and Scott are both hard to approach for different reasons, so Jean is kind of the team therapit. At first. This will lead in to Phoenix in a big way later on.
I agree that "humanity" should be the first enemy, with Stryker or Creed being the men in front while Sinister pulls stings behind the curtain. Sinister didn't start off as a mutant so he's a prime candidate for an early villain. His motivation is to find the genes to create the most powerful mutants on Earth and shepherd humanity into a "Golden Age" of mutant eugenics. Obviously, Cyclops, Jean, and Storm catch his notice early on, but Iceman could draw his attention later on as his powers and his confidence in them grows.
Sinister also opens the door for Weapon X being a thing. (Wolverine, of course, has to be hinted at early on. I don't want him to show up and steal the thunder too early, but hes definitely mid-credits scene material *at least.*)
The Brotherhood could debut here as mutants who are attacked by people and not saved by Charles and the X-Men, either because they don't know about it or because they're a small group who can only be in so many places at once. I'm seeing mainstays like the Blob, Pyro, Avalanche, Mastermind, and Toad, but also possibly future X-Men like Rogue or even Psylocke (who will start and stay as Kwannon in this case, to make it easy. Betsy Braddock, when she debuts, will not go by this codename). Magneto will do the recruiting, or send Mystique as his agent. The big advantage Erik will have over Charles will be not Cerebro, but Destiny, who foretells the mutants most likely to be swayed to Mags' way of thinking. Obviously we cannot use the Scarlet Witch, but with a little adjustment Domino could be just as effective in the 'random luck/chance powers' arena.
This is a lot for a first movie, so the audience will need some prep. If we could get away with it,an X-Men Origins: series on Disney+ would go a long way towards bringing the team together. I see Magneto as Episode 1, Xavier as Episode 2, then Jean Grey, then Storm, and so on, and end with Cyclops as the season finale, which would introduce him, and just as importantly, introduce Sinister to the audience. Then end with the team assembled, and launch right into the first X-Men film.

I'm a simple man all I request is that they use the X-men animated series theme and that Wolverine is introduced at the very end of a solo Hulk movie only to appear in the very next Hulk movie Hulk vs Wolverine

My best friends and I came up with a political thriller/murder mystery plot where X Factor (not the actual X-Men yet by name) get framed for an assassination on a member from Senator Kelly's entourage. The X-Men now must clear their own reputation before getting exposed to the public.
When they find out who did the act and was involved, there will be genuine shock.

      1. Uncanny X-men: start with the Uncanny X-men vs Mr Sinister, Simple but effective, Prof X will have used serebro to keep people from knowing about the Xgene, this is how we can keep Wolverine, Magneto and Apocalypse’s origins but nobody knows about the X gene anymore, the movie can prove to Charles there may be hope in people knowing about humanity and he lets the world relearn about mutants
      2. Wolverine: delve into his origin but besides that idrc what his story would be about just make it good
      3. Cyclops: Ok, look, Cyclops is awesome and deserves a movie, simple, it would pretty much just be about him fighting the Morlocks who may or may not be effected by Mr sinister (on the one hand it would make this movie better but Uncanny X-men could be to much with the Morlocks in it) Havoc would be introduced as a Morlock and he would change his allegiance to fight alongside Scott and become a hero, at the end the Morlocks could capture Jean Grey and Cyclops would have to save her, also delve into his home and his time before the X-men a little bit
      5. Uncanny X-men Brotherhood: start with the Stanford incident but instead of speedball and the new warriors it would be some random mutant kid who blows up and is the sole survivor (ya it’s dark), Then we do Magnetos origin and finally catch up with the Xmen fighting a few members of the brotherhood and Wolverine would be there to because Sabertooth is there, as they fight we see Prof X recruit, Colosus and Storm giving them each a minute long introduction, and we can basically introduce them as they were in giant sized Xmen, the Xmen return with Wolverine and meet Storm and Colossus, then we see Nightcrawler break into the White House, Charles would then seek him out, finally Charles and Beast would put together that Magneto is behind the brotherhood, than catch up to Magneto, present day him putting together the brotherhood and preparing for a war with the humans, he goes to attack a government base or something and the X-men with the help of Prof X just barely beat Magneto and he flees and the X-men remain as swat comes in, and they have to flee, we reveal that people are building sentinels, end of act 1, the rest of the movie would follow what I set up in act 1, end with every thing haven gone badly and Charles wanting to use cerebro and make everyone forget again but he doesn’t know if he’s strong enough and Cyclops convinces him not to
      6. Gambit: Heist film but idrc what the story is just make it good
      7. Storm: Storm has to deliver an omega level mutant to the school and fights the shadow king, the movie would primarily take place in Kenya and Egypt
      8. Wolverine II
      9. The Mutants
      To be continued

In watching this, I realized I said Avalon was on the moon, when it fact it was its own floating space station. One of you is going to be super mad about that and race down here, so I I wanted to beat you to the punch. I caught my own mistake!

    Cyclops.
If you build a narrative arc around his life and struggles, you would be able to introduce/reintroduce the most powerful storylines that make the Xmen great.

As someone who mostly knows of the X-Men through the earlier feature films, this sounds great. I was wondering about solos or introductions for some of the characters in the first movie, but I like Curt's idea above of Disney+ Origins series.

I hear the argument that the X-men existing in the MCU alongside the avengers and being hated for being mutants while the avengers are beloved makes no sense. but that's the point bigotry makes no sense People of color who fought for the United States military were treated terribly when they returned home despite their heroism. So the xmen in the mcu would be solid nuanced story telling.

      @tylerxxc1783 Před 11 měsíci +1

ik you commented this like a whole year ago but i'm gonna reply anyway. i get your point about xmen being more related to real life prejudice but the difference between the example you've given is that bigotry revolving people of colour is about the fact that these people were judged for the colour of their skin alone despite having done good things. whereas the reason mutants alongside our existing meta humans in the mcu will be difficult to make work is because characters like the hulk and spider-man are praised and loved for their acts of heroism despite the fact they are different to regular humans because of their abilities. this means it would make no sense for mutants to be shunned and judged by society for their abilities even though they are superhero's and do good things. it's honestly contradictory which is why it would be a lot easier and it would give marvel studios a lot more creative freedom to introduce mutants through another separate universe and building on that , especially with the multiverse being a part of the mcu now. the only way i see mutants being introduced in our primary universe 616 is if the reason mutants are hated is because of fear that mutants are superior to humans and will one day take their place. even then i just don't see it working properly without sacrificing the core element of all xmen stories which is that mutants are different, not superior and should still be treated equally despite the differences.

Ya, and a great way to get people to hate them is because they can be anyone, and people can get hurt by mutants not knowing how to use their powers and getting people hurt and killed
