In other words would running a jet size of 1.35 in the "normal" position be comparable to running the gas regulator in suppressed position with the factory 1.45 jet?, as a theoretical example.

    What do you think of the Mototech SCARburator Gen3 for a variable gas system.

  • @PhuVet
    @PhuVet Před rokem

    I agree except that the original intention of the silencer was to make firearms more docile for women to shoot. It's in maxims first ads. It's also in his patent application.
    There isn't less oxygen, it's just at a different pressure. If not, you wouldn't be able to start a fire. It has more to do with the pressure affecting the ability to use it efficiently.
    Mass doesn't change with temperature, velocity does. Modern powders are very temperature tolerant.
    Trim is an actual aerodynamic surface and has to do with a physical surface, not anything to do with the engine. You are thinking mixture and timing curves need to be changed for altitude.
    All of these things are taught in Artic warfare and mountain warfare schools. Except the engine/Tab thing. That's different.
    I think FN could have fixed the electronics problem but the contract didn't pay for it, nor did it require it. They needed to add a urethane buffer, like every other 7.62 battle rifle (HK etc.)
    When you said drop the size by 1mm, I think you mean .1mm. A mm would be crazy.
    Thank you for your video and products. I use them in customer products all the time.

      @King Tutt Because the SCAR doesn't have a need for a buffer spring and tube. The polymer stock was designed to absorb some of the recoil force of the bolt. The SCAR also shoots a 308 round which is much more potent than your 556 AR.
