My favourite missions in video games generally aren't on rails, have freedom of movement around the map and require me to actually figure out things and complete difficult objectives.
If they removed all the god the hell awful QTE BF3 campaign woulda been hella more fun to play. Also, if they added the BFBC2 kit selection boxes throughout the game, woulda been awesome to. Cuz, yes, I wanna rock an M60 through the entire campaign, not just 1 mission near the end. Make it coop and it woulda totally taken the cake.

This is such a good mission, the immersion attempt is really there. it'd be cool if we could get a 2022 version of this type of sequence, with better teammate AI and visual differences between individual tanks

The level of attention to detail with the Warthog run is stunning. You can even hear the delay of the bullets leaving the plane shortly after they impact the ground.
What i loved about this game, and ESPECIALLY this mission, is that you can obviously tell DICE did their homework with researching how US tank platoons and Battalions operated in the Gulf war and the 2003 Iraq invasion. The use of chevron formations, tanks leading with the Bradley / Amtrac following... Maps like Tehran Highway, Operation Guillotine were obviously inspired by the events in the 90s and early 2000s.... the highway of death in this mission....and they absolutely nailed it. Tehran Highway may not have been the BEST map to play, but the background scenery with the AA guns, Flak, explosions and BM-21s firing... they absolutely nailed.. the best in the game.
This is the only FPS tank mission I've ever actually liked. Awesome level design- The way it starts out with you tearing through a wide valley, then gradually transitions to the suburbs and shifts to urban combat, with increasingly fearsome resistance (when I originally played it those VBIEDs coming at me felt like a horror game). Super memorable.

I think it wouldn't be that bad since he went through training and there's a battle going on so he needs to get off the turret asap or he'll be shot by a stray bullet or intentionally aimed shots

Instead of the main character and their allies being invincible, I liked the part of the BF1 campaign where the enemy overwhelmed your position and you die as multiple different characters during the desperate battle. I'd like all the war games to show the mortality and trauma of both sides. That could still be engaging, but at the same time to show that war is never cool.

Deus Vult You also have it backwards, the design of APFSDS is to penetrate and spall. The tips of Sabot’s are dense metals that perpetrate armor and compress. Once inside a compartment, the compressed and heated metal expands and spalls into fragments.
Lol not to nitpick but in that first encounter with enemy armour he drives full-speed directly in front of the enemy so he has to shoot at their frontal armour while giving them a big, juicy shot at his side armour. Thank God nobody ever accused this game of being a milsim.

I've always said this. The color palette in a game can make it look great or look like shit. BF4 looked dated from the offset. BF3 looks and feels like a movie

I think it was fine to include women where historically appropriate (A handful of British units and several Soviet units included or were comprised mostly of women). So I don't get why that counts as "political correctness".
This mission could not POSSIBLY have been done any better. Is now and always will be my favorite mission in any military shooter. I think the only one that even comes close to matching this is Clean House from MW2019
BF3 is praised for its realism (not the gameplay, but the presentation), especially compared to CoD (of same era)... And I must admit, it's true... except for the part where a tank commander have to get out of his tank, approaching those infantries that refuse to detonate the bomb despite having support from a column of tanks, and so the tank commander is the one who will detonate the bomb. And then the tank commander, instead of firing coaxially, board the tank again and operate 50cal without any protection despite there are hostile infantries ON EVERY DIRECTION. Very realistic.
There's a reference in Battlefield V about Sgt. Jonathan MILLER: in the Last Tiger Mission, our character is Peter Mathias MÜLLER, who also leads a Tank, those who [SPOLIER] sadly die at the very end of their mission.

I've known multiple Marine tank crewman that have said this mission was incredibly accurate, except for them dismounting at the end.

I was so hyped as an American playing this mission, nothing like charging with a bunch of your brothers in M1A2 Abrams into battle.

BF3 is praised for its realism (not the gameplay, but the presentation), especially compared to CoD (of same era)... And I must admit, it's true... except for the part where a tank commander have to get out of his tank, approaching those infantries that refuse to detonate the bomb despite having support from a column of tanks, and so the tank commander is the one who will detonate the bomb. And then the tank commander, instead of firing coaxially, board the tank again and operate 50cal without any protection despite there are hostile infantries ON EVERY DIRECTION. Very realistic.
The best company in the whole series of games.

There's a reference in Battlefield V about Sgt. Jonathan MILLER: in the Last Tiger Mission, our character is Peter Mathias MÜLLER, who also leads a Tank, those who [SPOLIER] sadly die at the very end of their mission.
This was one of my favorite games back in the day, battlefield needs an anthology.

The only thing inaccurate about this mission is M1 Abram Tanks are supposed to fire outside of an enemy tank's effective firing range.
