sometimes I feel like Dice has forgotten the formula on how they make Battlefield 3. An immersive, realistic and serious approach to the game while still keeping it arcade and fun to play. In my opinion BF3 is 2 steps above BF4 and shouldn't even be compared to the latest Battlefields. A masterpiece

i never noticed this, but around 3:30, your screen/pov starts to darken and your vision is getting narrowed due to the Gs and i think thats a great little detail they added.
This was my favourite mission in battlefield 3 the atmosphere the sound effects like the jets flying past you the enemy minigun sound is my favourite, the graphics it's just perfect just imagine this in VR can't belive ace combat 7 didn't implement the sound effects of this game.

It was rush, and one of the back to karkhan maps or w/e. then in one part of the fight, almost the whole team attacks at once, we are talking 20 ish infantry with a tank and heavy chopper. As my squad(inf) charge down an alleyway I see through some buildings our tank firing and charging down the main street. suddenly a big boom above me as the chopper is hit and goes down, it crashes into a building right infront of me just before we reach the town plaza, (gunfights inbetween all of this shit). as a bunch of us come out to the plaza we are faced with the image of our tank blowing up and a team ruski tanks comes into view and blows me up. All of that happened in the span of a few minutes. I had to sit and reflect for a few min after. BF3

Tfw you still have to wait for the Super Hornet for the WSO to release as well. You'll have to fly around with the C for a bit. Tomcat's probably the only plane ingame with WSO currently
frostbite engine 2 is still so damn fine, as the light effects and color panels go it's better than bf4, hell, just a little textures lifting and it's enough. A shame not enough players are still around, I mean still playable but need a bit more. Also, if EA just ported it to ps4-One with the full content, it would probably sold better than V...

You'd never be able to hear shit during flight ops and putting that helmet on doesn't do anything to dampen the noise. What helo spot did that guy take off from??? ZERO regard for waist cat shot lines. He's on glide slope while turning?????? Also calling the ball while mid-turn. Landed hilariously low on glide slope. But damn did they NAIL the prop noise from the C2/E2's on the flight deck! 100% accurate.

But the complete ridiculousness of the depiction of this mission, especially the starting part that's basically a cutscene, is totally beyond any margin of error expected from Hollywood or video games. Mothership Q and KTM990WFO above me mentioned a lot of things, and there's still plenty more.
I’m super impressed by the realism, I’m a naval aviator but not on jets so I can’t confirm it’s done like this but it’s realistic to my platform. Only discrepancies I can see is that they said the Iranians were in MiG’s when they mostly use older American and French import planes near Tehran, and the way they showed HARM missiles as requiring a lock when they are actually a fully passive weapon system
Drill told us the day before graduating basic that we will never watch movies and games the same way once you're in the military...my fantasies were all ruined...but for a good cause.
When you think about it, this mission is essentially a rail shooter. But the graphical detail, chatter and sound design really turned a rail shooter into one of the most memorable missions in BF3, if not the entire Battlefield series.

Why does everyone keep trying to point out how unrealistic this mission is? It's a jet mission in an FPS, expecting DCS World levels of realism is an entirely unrealistic expectation for it.
"Lt. Jennifer Coleby Hawkins" - and no one had any objections to the character being female. This is what you're supposed to do if you want a female character. Just ADD ONE without making it unbelieveably corny and unrealistic. Who was that dev that said he didn't know what to tell his daughter about women in these games? Can't remember his name. Should have just looked at his own company's game and told her "Darling, you can become a fighter pilot!"
@@sergejandreevic9817 the game play is fine, it was meant to be showing the realistic side of the dogfights they were having, sure there was some minor things that were incorrect, but for the most part, the dialogue, the actual fighting and the takeoff and liftoff as well as the different missiles and weapons used and the HUD, this game was ALMOST spot on for a 2011 game so there is no room to talk shit about battlefield, DICE actually does their homework when it comes to games, just because this mission isn't the best game play mission doesn't mean there aren't any others in the game that are good, This mission was amazing, if you want game play go play the multiplayer.

I used to love this realism... Until Navy took me in as an AT and now I can point out flaws... Same how 3d modeling ruined movies for me...
