Jay asking all the right questions. 👊🏻👌🏻
He sure is!
Cracking work mate, great to hear the young ones asking so many questions too, if your keen you’ve halfway cracked it 👍🏻
Completely agree mate!
The Eaton switch is cracked between the bolt and the back plate which will result in a flashover to earth in the event of an under load disconnect. Respect for addressing that connection. It would most likely also have arced inside under load resulting in that phase overheating. Also, it really riles me when I see people use insulation tape instead of heatshrink. Insulation tape is never more than temporary.
Great video Mike, really good to see you back on the tools and making content, Jay is lucky to have a teacher like you. Been too quiet without your videos to look forward to. Keep up the good work buddy.
Thanks man! It’s good to be back!
Get yourself a Klauk Mini battery op crimper
used one for years far better than any hydraulic one and the pistol style electric crimper so heavy if you have to do many in an hour
Go for the kit with as many dies as possible a lovely tool to have and use day in day out
Two batteries a must for continuous working
Nothing worse than getting two phases crimped and a dead tool !
Excellent Vid Mike. You really are a master of your craft. Really interested to see the extent of that fire damage downstairs. Bet that was a joy to work in. 👍🏻
Thanks for the kind words, I’ll have a full tour coming soon! 😬
If you have a dremel kit, you can resharpen your cutters and buff them up. Even if they are blown or have gaps from cutting something you shouldnt have.
Awesome stuff Mikey. You're a great teacher. Wishing you all the best
Thanks Jim!
Great to see this content, dream work! Cracking skills and top notch kit
Thanks kev!
Absolutely mint.
love the vids mate, keep them coming!!!
No problem! 👊🏼
I always adore a quality of Your job.

Good tip about marking the lug.
Glad it was helpful!

Thanks brother 🙏🏼
Nice as always Mike.👍
Back where you belong looking forward to some regular content. 🧑🔧⚡💡
Thanks bro 👊🏼
Top work Mike 👌🏻👌🏻 still don’t agree with the heat gun in the packout 😂😂
Haha luckily I’ve had some therapy and it won’t be a problem anymore 😂
😂😂😂 oh really
Nice too see some new vids Mike!
Bro where are you based I'd love to work under you! 1 year in the PV game and I've seen a lot of what you SHOULDN'T do haha.
Looking forward to seeing more 👍
I’m based in bucks, if your close drop me an email!
@@residualelectrical I'll commute.. It's only 3 hours haha.
Damn, wel see bro. I would love to. I've seen SO many bad quality things and seeing you take care and make intelligent decisions with everything you do, since you know electrics aren't something to mess around with, is just inspiring tbh.
Your'e a credit to the trade mate.
The electrical work is awesome but your editing and video skills are off the scale mate lol. Top work, loved it. That scottish fella sounds a bit dodgy keep your eye on him!!!
Very kind mark, thank you!
Perfect place for a good old skool Rave downstairs there Mike 🙃
😂
if you don't have a torque setting just google what the reccommended average torque spec is for the size of bolt at what material it is, eg m6 copper, m8 a2 stainless etc
That’s a great shout!
Great vid … which model is that torque wrench ? 👍🏻
Wera A6 👍🏼
@@residualelectrical just got one. What bits/accesories do you use with it?
Did they not leave the scaffold pole they used for extra leverage tightening those MS last time 😂😂
After this day we’ve gone a check all the other boards and so far found 3 like this, one was taped together to hide the damage 🤦🏼♂️😂
So far, its daily videos. Will you keep that pace? xD
I wish I could! I will be uploading weekly though 🤝🏼
Great video Mike, not sure what happened to your other channel?
Thanks! Are you on about loadout?
@@residualelectrical sorry I thought you shut down residualcurrent I was on that channel, nevermind ... been ages, but always great content. Hopefully you show the fire damage from this video 👍
You waffle on for such a simple job IMHO. Great footage of the job though.
You must be new to the channel trev
@@residualelectrical😂
Are all tools yours or are some supplied by your company?
99% mine, just the crimper was the company’s
A couple of suggestions (teaching you to suck eggs) ... Get some decent site lights, will make life (and the videos) better. I'd use a hole punch instead of trying to drill/hole saw in to cabinets. If you come across tight lugs with the crimps already fitted, stick a screwdriver where the wire would go and lever against that. I've found some devices are more robust when tightening, as opposed to undoing.
Maybe give unilite a nudge xD
Would some 18v lights come in handy?
Yeah, I’ve got plenty to be fair, it was a lot brighter in real life, and the headtorch also really helped, the camera has made it look rather dramatic 👌🏼
👍
❤️❤️❤️❤️☮️☮️☮️☮️❤️❤️❤️❤️ GREAT TO SEE U DOING WHAT U DO BEST , EDUCATING AMD SHOWING HOW STIFF SHOULD BE DONE RIGHT . ☮️☮️❤️❤️❤️ PS loadout was a mission as u said u can’t compete for price with others with zero overheads or Amazon etc . The buying power of those are crazy. Sorry I couldn’t cash out on ur loadout customer base . HEY DO UR GRAFT UR VIDEOS AMD SPENT THAT LOAD OUT TIME WITH UR FAMILY ☮️❤️☮️❤️
Seeing what the tools they used in this video, I can only call it lame. I use hydraulic crimper for even 16mm2 BVR wire and they just use hand crimper for 100A wire?
We used a hydraulic crimper for the current carrying cables, hand crimped was for the CPC which doesn’t carry current, the hand crimper also caps out at 25mm2 👍🏼
😮what actually made it burned
A fire that burnt for 7 hours 😅
Try cembre
Decent kit to be fair!
