- What "Day Out With Thomas" video series would be complete without a ride with Sodor's #1 engine?
In this program, you'll see Thomas take a trainload of happy passengers from East Strasburg to Groundhog Cut and back, meeting #90 twice. I understand that the meet scenes were rehashed from the #90 program, but I extended the second one to include Thomas's entrance into the station.
For a little engine, Thomas does make quite a lot of noise - and he sounds like an engine TWICE his size!
So, with all that said, sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of Thomas the Tank Engine as he roams the Road to Paradise!

I went to a Day Out With Thomas event with my mom, my brother and my sister when i was little and even tho i loved it, seeing Thomas up close scared the living daylights out of me.
I went to see this same particular Thomas when I was super little in 2006 and just had a blast. Love the old school face much better than the new one
My parents took me out to see Thomas as a child. I believe we rode around in either Thomas’s cab or coaches. I had an old T-shirt I got from the event that I always wore at my insistence 🤣👌 good times
I knew also this would give me a sigh of relief seeing this original face up his original face of Thomas the Tank engine on his body back hiss on his body back that's the one that I grew up with That's the one that I thought made the real Thomas Just like the Hornby Thomas They are the real deal.
My parents took me to this in 2002 back when the series wasn't as flashy and corporate as it is now. Money wasn't always part of the question
It was about children actually learning something from it all, also so that they can enjoy it as a timeless classic too. When I look at Thomas now it upsets me that this is what people care about, filling their pockets

Exciting News: the Strasburg Railroad is building Percy to join Thomas for the Day Out events and they're building him exactly how they did with Thomas-a shelled diesel at first and then as a live steamer.
I do remember hearing about Percy joining Thomas this year. But I'm not sure if there's any truth to him being a non-operational dummy first and then becoming a live steam engine? Where did you hear that, out of curiosity?
Also, I'll be at Strasburg again this Saturday to film Thomas again.

It would be cool if Strasburg could make a Percy locomotive to go along with Thomas.
I dunno about Percy, but some railfans have (somewhat jokingly) requested that Strasburg make replicas of Annie and Clarabel and do a photo charter with Thomas and his coaches! Now THAT I would pay to see!
But, considering Porter's introduction to the series, I would imagine the nearby Wanamaker, Kempton & Southern possibly trucking in their H.K. Porter 0-6-0 #65 to play the character, if it could be arranged.
Well There's a rumor going on that there WILL be a Life size Percy to go along with Thomas on the 2014 Day out with Thomas events.
Are you talking the engine next to #90 from 00:40 to 00:56? If so, that's exactly what I was thinking. Every time I go to the Strasburg Railroad and I see that 4-wheeled engine, I say to myself "they need to make Percy out of that".

The North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC has already advertised that Percy will be appearing at their DOWT event later this year.
