This dude's game saved my life. And I actually mean that. I overcame a heroin addiction, got married after that (IRL) got divorced years later, and this game has seen me through some of the darkest periods of my life. I bought this game on PC, PS4, Switch, Android, and Fire Tablet. across all platforms I have close to 5000 hours in this game. it is my all time favorite game and I started gaming in 1993 with Wolfenstein 3D. I've played everything from Silent Hill, Doom, Duke Nukem, SIMFarm (this one really got me into farming RPG'S) ....my favorite game was GTA San Andreas for maaaany years until I found this gem. That part about an escape from depression/ anxiety really hit home. Downloaded this a few weeks ago and it's been such a cosy little retreat since and honestly the first 'hobby' I have genuinely enjoyed and wanted to actually do in a while
And weirdly getting that feeling of wanting to do something back has translated into a little bit of real world motivation, and helped me start doing things I used to enjoy like baking and knitting again. I think the lack of pressure to do anything well because you just have infinite time, is honestly what makes it so relaxing to play, and a nice change in mindset from what we are bombarded with day to day 🥰

Sounds like a very humble man. What a beautiful story. He created a very relatable game by himself. Incredible. God bless you.

I discovered this game on gamepass a few weeks ago and am absolutely astounded that this was all accomplished by one person. Extremely addictive and overall one of the best casual play games I have ever played. Brought back that spark of wonder within the gaming world that I desperately needed. Well done!💯

Ok so first of all: he is very good looking. Doesn't resemble an ape at all. Secondly I love that hollow knight sticker. We already knew he was such a nice guy and this video just confirms that. I'm excited to see what he comes up with next ✌🏻✌🏻
Also Penny is best wife and Shane is best husband I'm sorry

it’s crazy how you can become a somewhat famous multi-millionaire from your bedroom, by simply having a hobby. this man really revolutionized farming games without even trying to.

Takes a lot more than just having a hobby. Dedication, vision, talent, insane work ethic, creativity, patience and a bit of luck. But he is living proof that the "bedroom coder" is alive and well, even 40 years after Lord British.

I can't thank Eric enough for everything he does. He made this game alone so that others can e joy themselves and have a calm moment. And ever since the release of multi-player being able to share a farm with friends is amazing and awesome

What a super talented guy. Tbh I fell in love with Stardew because it reminded me of a long summer in my childhood where I spent hours playing Harvest Moon. The nostalgia is real
