When I worked with John at Menlo I remember bopping by his office one day to tell him that Brittany and I were expecting our first. He put down the book he was reading, came around his desk, wrapped his arms around me and hugged me so big he lifted me off the ground laughing. It’s who he is. I’m quite sure he’d bear hug you if you wanted.
Just as soon as this video ended my mind shot back to my past and I was reviewing relationship problems with my daughter. I suddenly said, ENOUGH! One day at a time! And not in the past!

God's daily provision - reminds me of the Michael Kelly Blanchard song "Then the Quail Came" about how one day at a time God provided quail for the Israelites who were crossing the desert. "Unworthy to stand, I bow down."

I must have been an inadequate parent as I see how my children have turned out

Me too! It’s funny, I’ve never had someone “remind” me so much of Jesus as John has. Jesus was definitely the bear-hug type. ;-)
