Thank you for a thorough explanation. I have the Ecoflow River Plus, which is the newer version of the River with 360 w/h & if I'm not wrong it has a 1,000 cycles to 80%. I bought it for $249.00, a Great price !!!
I just bought the EF ECOFLOW RIVER 288Wh Portable Power Station and the battery to make it max. $229 for the River unit and $170.05 for the battery to make it a Max. I plan on taking a vacation/adventure in my car and using this unit to power a food warmer (Hot Logic Mini - 12V Version - Black), a cooler (Electric Car Cooler 25L,12V DC Plug In Collapsible Portable Cooler) and my CPAP unit. Also, computer, phone and LED lights. This is a new adventure for me. I bought all this before watching your video but after watching your vid I am pleased with my purchase. I do think I messed up though because I bought a DC splitter (YANTU Cigarette Lighter Adapter, 12V/24V 3-Socket Power Cigarette Lighter Splitter ) to run my food warmer and cooler at the same time. After watching your video it clicked in my mind that the power from the cig lighter split is probably not going to be enough to run my cooler and food heater at the same time. You showed on your video that the plugs under the DC input were for an additional DC output adapter. I am pretty sure that is what I will need. Do you have a link for the adapter you briefly showed in the video to add another DC output? Thanks in advance and the video was very informative. I just hope the firmware update is better that it was months ago when you filmed this.
Edit: I think I found it. (SPARKING 12v DC Female Cigarette Lighter Socket to DC 5.5mm x 2.1mm Male Barrel Plug Charger Cable Adapter for Portable UPS Battery Backup and Emergency Backup Generator)
Hi Tom thanks for your comment.
all the links are in the description, might need to scroll down a bit. Send me a message later if you can't find it and I'll grab it for you
I'm quite impressed with the solar charging part of your video, the river performed nicely. Good to know my river can be charged that quickly via solar.
Thank you so much Andrew I hope you stay with us on the channel have a good day
Thanks for such a great review, probably the best so far. Well, I'm here a year later after your review and just received my EcoFlow 3 days ago, thought you might find my experience with the unit interesting. It did have 33% when I got it and I did the firmware update while I was charging it. At first, there was no fan but after 10 minutes it went on high and the air it blew out had a slight electric burn smell to it. As this is happening my phone is showing the firmware updating. A little smelly but the unit charged fine and the firmware updated OK also. I remember one of the videos saying the first few charges would smell a little. I'm a rookie and didn't look at charge temp on my phone, sorry for that. I bought this to charge smaller stuff like my Laptop and GMRS portable radios and Cell Phones. It has done that with only a small battery loss. I own a Jackery 100-watt Solar panel and purchased the adapter cable for use with this River, today I charged it with said Solar Panel. The River was down only 5% and the Solar Panel charged at 87 watts and drew fewer watts as the battery topped off. It only took 15 minutes for the Solar panel to fully charge it. You know I had a Jackery 500 less than 2 years old and the light and USB switch went out only using it 3 times. Jackery refunded me the money and I bought this River which I think is built much better and of course, had 200 dollars left over, in turn, I just ordered the extra battery for my River. Next time I charge from 30% will see how the new firmware update controls the unit and I'll drop you a line. The Firmware updates can only get better. Sorry for the short story I love this tech stuff. I subscribed to your channel and will enjoy seeing your new videos.
Mark It’s a nice little unit, enjoy it and keep in mind touch if you have any questions
Good review.
I looked at many reviews, yours is the most thorough testing of the EcoFlow river.
Excellent job.
Thank you, we are known for detail. Appreciate that Angelo 👍🏼
Adding this with the extra battery to our original Delta 1300 that has the 160w Solar panel! (Amongst other Sogens!) This was such a thorough review I know we made the right choice again with EcoFlow! Now my hubby is hooked on watching your electric mower videos! 🙃 Thank you for taking all the time you did to make it a complete review and easy to understand! Brooklyn is adorable by the way! Keep up the great reviews!
Thank you so much
I own the River Max and love it. You did a very thorough review. Thank you. It’s interesting to hear different people’s prospective.
Thanks yes, very excited about this one. Haven't tested Bluetti yet, definitely a fan of Lifep04 batteries. Thanks for your comment and for watching
Great review. Thanks for doing it. I just order the River and can’t wait to try it out camping. I currently have a 120 watt solar panel but am thinking of upgrading to a 200w to combat less than favorable solar conditions.
Best of luck
I just bought a Delta with four solar panels. The best deal and product out there
Nice units for sure, best of luck 👍🏻
I enjoyed the review of the River Max and I also have it to charge my 12 EGO batteries for my EGO 2000 watt generator, so while it runs the house, I can charge 2 batteries to keep up with the demand for the EGO generator using the ECOFLOW River-MAX. I also have 2 of the ECOFLOW foldable solar panels (expansive), but work well in all weather!
So hope to see more reviews of your goodies, thank you. Jeff
Jeff thanks so much, to me it would be great to get the Pro model with the expansion battery but thanks for watching really appreciate it more to come.
Thanks for the pretty detailed review of the ecoflow river and the honest experience with their customer service, but it hasn't deterred me either, I'm still getting the river.
My pleasure Jerry I like the power station definitely good quality with some nice features. I hope you stay with us on the channel have a great day
Very neat. Got mine. Going to add a fan on the input side to get more airflow to the unit. And looking forward to using a 3rd party connector for the expansion pack. Especially if using 400w continuous running the loads.
Have you checked out the original river pro? That's nice and it's expandable also here's a link on a simple comparison we did I hope it helps
czcams.com/video/psUJJUggsx0/video.html
The fan was annoying until I updated it. Now it only comes on with a large power draw. I bought to use as an UPS for my 5 cubic ft freezer for $270 on an amazon lightning deal. The issue I was having is the freezer draws almost up to 700 watts at start up but uses less than 100 watts to run and alot of these solar generators are expensive when needing that much starting watts. The ecoflow was a good price and works for what I need. It can run the freezer for about 8 hours on battery. I leave it plugged in to AC and the battery stays charged up while powering the freezer.
Also set up an alert on my phone to tell me when the ecoflow disconnects from WIFI, so I know if the power goes out or the ecoflow shuts off unexpectedly. Ive had for 4 weeks and it has worked with no issues. We lost power once for 3 hours so far and it switched to battery no problem.
Thanks for sharing that use example Jacob definitely a good value
Knowing Ecoflow, I know they will fix this issue, just like with my delta before. They do listen. and they act fast.
Thanks so much Gabriel and thanks for watching also
Great review I'm an amateur radio operator and volunteer with emergency communications in florida. We have situations where we need backup power constantly whether it be weather-related or otherwise. I can see using the 5521 and cutting the cigarette plug or even getting one with bare wire on it specifically for Anderson power poles. That is ideal for our emergency communications equipment and makes it a lot easier as this device lacks Anderson's. It's unfortunate it's one of the things I miss about this device because the goal zero definitely had them.
Thank you Andrew
Do not buy this battery. As I saw in other reviews it has a tendency to fry itself. It happened with two times with me and had to return both. If you are sure that NEVER will use over 600W possibly will work but the device does not have a protection when you overload even for a sec. I tried with a Swiss made Broncolor Studio Flash and the Ecoflow River Max killed itself.
I've updated the Ecoflow River 600 using the new Ecoflow app and had zero problems with overheating during charging or in use. The fan is not on constantly like it was prior to the firmware update, but temperature remains about 77F/25C up to 88F. Charging via AC, DC car, and Solar 270 Watts (120W & 150W combined) has been superb. I'll keep you updated on long-term testing. Good video by the way. I've Subscribed. 😉
Thanks Globe weird for me, Temps as high as 113 degrees Fahrenheit, welcome to the channel 👍🏻
A 600w powerstation for less than $350, that is a pretty good bargain, and an ecoflow brand at that. Nice!
And with all the features as well, fast charge , pass-through charging etc definitely thanks Thomas
It’s not 600w unless you add the extra battery to make it a “max” system, but the battery costs extra $$$ so it’s not a 600w power station for $350 sadly.
You are talking watt hours that's different from wattage. The additional battery will add more run time (watt hours)
The unit itself is a 600w unit
Excellent review. Very well done. Just what I needed.
Thank you James and thanks for watching
Great video .. I will be using it for a portable smoker
Thank you
I like it ,i need 1 and solar panel, because in spain the light are terrible the prize
Just paid $400 total for the river max. I think I got a steal.
Great deal 👍🏼
Hi Thank You great review the best I have seen so far. Thank you for all the details.
Thank you
This was the most helpful I watched, out of many. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your comment I’m so glad this was helpful to you.
@@TechMadeEzy I ordered one. :)
Enjoy! Stay tuned and let me know if you have any questions
@@TechMadeEzy thank you, I will!
I am very glad that you're also happy with your river, just like me. Sorry to hear about the experience with the customer service, but as for me I haven't had any problems with customer service.
Thanks JK
I am liking your ground mount array 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Thanks for your warning about firmware update problem 👍
Thanks for watching Warren
Thanks great review just wish it had Life04 batteries leaning towards the Bluetti EB70 because of that despite the river's better features
Thank you 👍🏼
Agree I love Lifep04
thanks for technical review. Not sure if you covered this but if the unit is plugged into mains and the mains is offline and the unit then completely discharges, does it automatically come back on by itself when the mains returns? So can it be used like a UPS, switches itself on when it senses it has power on mains again?
Hi thank you
It will take a while for the battery to drain if nothings plugged in. Also, it doesn’t have a UPS feature because the UPS feature is very quick, but it does have a feature similar. EPS it’s about 30ms
@@TechMadeEzy will the unit come back online automatically?
Yes, it should after that 30 ms time
This video is exactly what I was looking for
Thanks Fraser, here is a comparison of the rivers if it helps czcams.com/video/psUJJUggsx0/video.html
@@TechMadeEzy Spot on, thanks mate 👍
Thank you
Thanks for the review. I picked up two of these last month. So far so good but running a heater that pulls more than 600 watts, it doesn't work right. Even with X-boost on, it will energize the heater but does not heat at optimal level. It would be like it is running on a low setting which takes forever to even heat up. I can hold my hand on the heater and it's just warm. When plugged into a house 110 outlet, you can't touch the heater at the low setting of 500 watts. This heater is a 1500-watt radiator type heater with three settings 500/1000/1500. Thoracically, this unit should run this at the 1000 watts level with no worries; based on the x-boost claiming it runs up to 1800 watts. The meter shows no more than 600 watts out even on 1000 watts. There is a disclaimer in the literature that some items will not run correct. I guess this is another item that it will not. Very disappointed in these units compared to their advertising. Works great for laptop, phones and tv, some tools, etc. Forgot to add, at full charge of the unit running this heater, it shuts off at 1% battery left at 57 mins running time. Which makes sense since it truly only has 600 watts of output.
Hi John thanks for watching, I would try a delta 1300 or Delta mini if you need more wattage, happy holidays
@@TechMadeEzy Well yes, there's always that, too bad I didn't figure that out first! Thanks.
I hear you , this was all new to me and now I’m addicted .
@@TechMadeEzy Yes agreed, I love them for what they are. It's fun to see what they will run.
Great video very informative but the smacking of your tongue was killing me 😂
Sorry about that, I need to be more aware
@@TechMadeEzy no it’s all good… it’s because I had a cousin that did that purposely to irk me 😂… but the video was great and be yourself don’t change because once you start it won’t stop … new fan
Thanks Dwayne no matter what I appreciate the feedback. Thanks for your support
yeah, that was driving me crazy too
My wife does that also. Drives me nuts! Lol. Go's to show how someones better qualities can over shadow there bad ones. Most of the time. Lol
I need one... saving for it!
It’s a nice small expandable unit, thanks for watching
You showed the best use for the for ego nexus users in a power outage. This is the cheapest and highest quality solar battery than will use the dual ego charger. This can keep your batteries charged... so you can keep rotating them out.. and keep using that 2000w inverter in the ego.
Thanks Chris, long time no see hope you are doing great
@@TechMadeEzy I saw you join the ecoflow Facebook today. :) welcome! Right now getting hit around by Henri!
Steve must have he works with me, who’s henri and what do you mean?
@@TechMadeEzy yes it was Steve. Henri is the hurricane tropical storm hitting Southern New England
Wow be careful
Great review! Showed exactly what i wanted to know. Thanks
Thanks JP you have this model?
hope you stay with us on the channel
@@TechMadeEzy I live in South Africa, and we have rolling blackouts every now and then. My current system is a 100ah agm, with inverter, solar charge controller and panel. But the battery has gone and i want a smaller simpler setup without this 40kg battery! I just need to keep a laptop and internet going. So this matches it, and i can still use my 160w Panel. Perfect.
Awesome, welcome to the channel 👍🏻 stay in touch and don't be shy
Have a great day also
Very good detailed review. Thank You.
Thank you very much by the way what power station do you have?
Positive Comment
Nice review! The inverter makes this a good contender for the $$$. Although, I think I’m leaning toward the Anker Powerhouse II 400 or the updated Jackery 300. USB-C IN&OUT is a really neat feature. Plus the other two I mentioned offer more amp hours per dollar. Still, impressive unit!
Thanks Grayson definitely more to come, hope you stay with us on the channel 👍🏻
"USB-C IN&OUT is a really neat feature" I don't see many practical situations where I miss having USB-C input on my Solargen.
Best review of any unit ever. I have a question: im building a weekend off grid house. I want to run everything 12v including a deep well pump. How can I simply plug into a 12V output on this unit - wire to a multi gang block with switches and fuses - and use the Solar Generator as my "master source" for all my 12v? Seems like the 12v output is really just for charging light small "devices" (phones computers etc) vs being a 12V all over output solution. Im not interested in running everything from the inverter. Suggestions please!!!
Look into a delta max, or delta pro or Bluetti AC200
Hi Thanks for the great review! I live in Europe, this war is causing everyone crazy energy bills now. I now have to look for some back-up solutions and found your videos very helpful and educational (since I have zero knowledge regarding energy storage & solar energy stuff). Would be great to know if you've ever done some tests on how these powerstations can save your household energy costs? Is it worth the investment (owing a powerstation & solar panels) afterall? Thanks in advance for any feedback.
Take a look at this, hopefully it helps
czcams.com/video/1bieQn7Zn-g/video.html&feature=share&si=ELPmzJkDCLju2KnD5oyZMQ
This is super! Thank you.
Thanks for the review, have been looking at a power station and this was a great demo on this unit. I still think a LiFePO4 is still the better option for safety and longevity, but it's hard to find good options, like the Glolabs R300 here Australia.
cheers
Hi Mich I agree, Bluetti makes a few nice Lifep04 power stations I like the eb70 not bad at all. Thanks again for watching
I think the new delta max has LiFePO4 Batteries and i hope they will update the others too. I want one for my Camper instead of having to buy inverter battery charger and so on for a higher price. Also you can take it out and fast charge it in a restaurant or at home if you cant plug the rv in.
I'm definitely a fan of Lifep04
Just checked Mich only has 800 cycles before it goes to 80%, I don't see Lifep04
ecoflow.com/products/ecoflow-delta-max-portable-power-station
@@TechMadeEzy : If you're actually out in the wild using it and you're conservative with your needs and only fully recharge from zero once per week, that's only 52 cycles per year,if you were living in the wild for a year.
So at that rate, the power station should retain it's 100% charge for many years, even though it's a Lithium Ion battery and you don't charge the power station in the heat of direct sunlight or below freezing temperatures.
Very nice review. Don't have to have a degree in electrical engineering to follow along.
Thank you Jpaul
Loved your video. I normally don't watch long vidz. This was a breeze to watch. Just wondering how long will the power bank last if you plug it into a standard home fridge?
1st thank you Fadil for your kind works and for watching 👍🏼
It’s all about how many Watts your refrigerator is, refrigerators don’t use allot of wattage. Here is an example
If your refrigerator was 150w
This power station is 288wh so you would probably get about 2 hours
Thanks for the great review. Quick question: the website says the lifespan is 500+ cycles....does it mean this is going to be dead after approx 500 times of charging and using?
Hi thank you, after that it will go to 80% capacity so still good life left.
I owe you an apology. Great video very informative...I live in Europe I just bought the river pro...thank you for taking the time to do all the research...one question. Can you use the battery without the app? Is there a way to change uses on it without internet?..
Why do you owe us an apology?
You can use the power station without the app for sure. The app is great for firmware updates and of course controlling it or seeing the status from another room etc.
I watched a review of the EF River Pro and you can use it without the App.
2:35--"You get an A/C adapter"
That's an A/C power cord, not an adapter. And it's just like any PC power cord,so if you misplace it,it's easily replaced.
Thanks for catching that
@@TechMadeEzy : You're welcome
I like the tape on the laptop.😁😂
Thanks. Just bought one of these. I’m in the uk, do you know if they’ve updated the firmware yet regarding the fan and battery temperature?
Yes definitely, made a big difference
Hi.. I got the River Pro and want to use it as a power source for my shed. I was wondering if keeping the product on and connected to a solar panel all the time would reduce the lifespan or cause damage to the product.
I haven't tried it but i would say keep it within operating temp, don't let it go to 0% or 100% too often, it has 800 cycles then it goes to 80%, is the shed insulated? Temps in a shed can get very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter, see the manual for operating Temps
Great reviews always 👌
Thank you Jake
I agree with you, but of course my system is R600 Pro
That’s solid
How does it compare to the Bluetti EB3A overall?
Very similar but this one is expandable, might be hard to find the add on battery though
Master class. Thank u 👍🏻
Wow thank you so much Fernando I hope you stay with us on the channel 👍🏼
Is that a Motorola Startac? Why is no one talking about this?
when you have the fan open how many degrees does it reach when it is 100% charged?
It slow charges once it hits around 80% so it cools down, they've updated the firmware a few times and it doesn't get as hot as it did in this review
It would be helpful to know the make/model of the 200w solar panel being used.
Hi, It's in the video description
Best review, thanks a lot
Thank you so much, hope you stay with us on the channel, have a great weekend
Do you need the turn on the xboost thru the app ? Can you do this w/o the app but manually
Yes, app is the only way Curie
@@TechMadeEzy ok tks, does the ecoflow came with the exboost already on. I can’t get the right app. I only want to test it with appliance around 1200watts. If exboost is always on ,I will let it be. Pls advise.
I do believe xboost is on by default but again, I would ask you to confirm 100% with the company
So, can you buy extra batteries and charge them so you can have like 4 spares you can change out?
Yes, you can with the river
Thanks for this video
Thank you Jordy, do you own a power station?
GREAT REVIEW!
Thank you happy holidays
Just bought one. Waiting for it to arrive. Can one use a wind generator as well?
Awesome congratulations and thank you for watching our video here’s the email to EcoFlow I would email them that question to be sure support@ecoflow.com
I own the river pro and honestly the x-boost is a complete gimmick and can actually damage certain electronics. So because of that I just keep it off. I wish they would of just gave us a bigger inverter.
Delta is nice, mini and the other models
I recently bought Ecoflow Max, and after home delivery I tried to turn it on, but couldn't do so. Will return and replace with another unit. Looks like is broken. Maybe someone had similar experience?
How can i use the DC output with fairy or led lights? It says that the 10W led light 64 hours on DC but 21 hours on AC.What is the diff?i have not find led/fairy lights with DC input
DC is more efficient so you will get more run time
@@TechMadeEzy thank you!I did not see two side DC cable just where one of side is DC the other side AC.So how can i connect my led lights to DC input if it has ac input and dc output
I would ask the manufacturer.
What happens to this unit if the built-in rechargeable battery could no longer carry a charge? Is there a way to replace it with a new one?
No replacement unless I would think it's under warranty. It's rated 800 cycles then it goes to 80% + so it should last a while. Anything better would be a Lifep04 power station, those batteries have 1000 plus cycles even as high as 6,500 from what I've seen.
@@TechMadeEzy Thanks for the quick response.
A good idea for a cigarette cord. Would be Portable Coleman cooler for food.
100% definitely thanks for sharing that idea
It looks like there are some functions (Xboost, others?) that can only work through the app? That doesn't sound good. Heard that there are problems with the app. I would want to be able to do everything manually.
The unit mostly works without the app but the app offers firmware updates and fixes etc which can be valuable. I know bluetti doesn't require the app, check them out like the eb70 or eb70s that's a nice unit
@@TechMadeEzy Thanks. I especially like the charging speed of the Ecoflow, and modular capacity. I was seriously considering the Bluetti, almost bought one during the sale.
I just want to be sure I wouldn't be left up the creek if the app doesn't work, or without my phone for some reason. Is that a real possibility? Are there any essential functions that would not work without the app?
Seems like I should talk to their tech support.
Not to my experience although new to EcoFlow, make sure you check out the Costco Sales on EcoFlow Steve just informed me, he handles social media for me
@@TechMadeEzy Thanks for the Costco tip! Not a member, but my friend is.
Was just thinking about the app. It depends on an internet connection, so would likely not be working in many/most camping situations, or, a zombie apocalypse, should that happen. We've gotten too dependent on being wired to the web.
I have to talk with tech support.
I just picked up a river how are they holding up?
Pretty good, and you can grab the add on Battery down the road if you need it. Nice little unit
Can't find the link for the DC port adapters. Can you provide that again? Great video, thanks for the info!

What is the max input solar voltage allowed?
200W 10-25V DC 12A max
I gave you a like 👍 cool video

Thanks for the review and being honest about the silent charging problem. Has it been improved since? I'm also going to look around for that info if you're busy.
Hi Tech, thank you
Yes, software update has fixed this and they improved the app also. Fans go off as needed and they are important in keeping the unit cool.
The one thing I would have liked due to the x-boost was for them to display the voltage in the display panel so as not to have to plug in a watt meter on the side where the ac plugs are. Other than that its a great power backup device !
Voltage would be great, love that idea. Thanks Tiger and thanks for watching
@@TechMadeEzy What they could do with the fan is allow an app setting to put the fan on high speed that we can control if necessary to cool down the Ecoflow if overheated by extensive use. The firmware updates allows them to fine tune the fan speed with certain temperatures inside the Ecoflow as well as fine tuning the charge controller to optimize the battery life and performance. When I first received my Ecoflow last February the fan would run at maximum speed all the time. It was annoying to say the least. They also cut the amp setting from a max of 10 amps to 8 amps for the car charging probably due to not wanting to blow the cars cigarette lighter fuse. So they can do alot with firmware.
Good feedback Tiger but at least it's a nice machine and at least it can get firmware updates so that's good
Just got the River this past week and have now ordered the expansion battery pack. My question is with the app, I do not appear to have a Firmware Update selection. Could have EcoFlow now taken that out of the latest release (v. 2.7.0 Android)? Maybe related is that I cannot seem to get the River to recognize my home network but am able to connect directly to it with my phone and all the controls and functions operate. I just don't seem to be able to check if there's a firmware update. Is it possible I have to have the network connectivity for that to appear in the app and then check for it? Shed any light on this from your doings?
Your wifi needs to be 2.4ghz I believe, there should be a section in settings that says firmware towards the bottom. If not I would email EcoFlow support@ecoflow.com
@@TechMadeEzy Yeah, I have both 2.4 and 5ghz. It will recognize the network but not reliably. It'll go through the process but after maybe 30 sec. it fails. Is it your understanding that both tied to the network or through WiFi Direct that the app function/features are the same? I'd think it would be. I saw a different CZcams video where the guy said it was a bit fiddly.
When did you the the river? If you just got it, I'm sure it needs a firmware upgrade that should fix any issues.
@@TechMadeEzy OK, found the culprit. My issue with getting the River to connect to our network was to take the original network connect out of the equation so my phone wouldn't auto reconnect to it when selecting the connection through the River. Once I did that everything took off like a rocket and the firmware was updated. What tipped me off is that the firmware selection option showed when the River was offline, went away when just directly connected between my phone and the River and before the River acquired the Internet. Once the internet was acquired the firmware update selection reappeared and all was good. Crazy!
Glad you are set
I am "SCARED"
I was about to buy 4 or 5 of these, cause I liked them at first sight, and the features are great... BUT...
Now I have seen them start fire, and the obviously get VERY HOT, and warrenty or not, if they burn your house down, whiles you and the family are a sleep... thats a NO GO for me - so we are getting somthing else - to charge our stuff, on our holidays outback.
Keep up postin - i'v just subscribed and liked this video.
Best regards.
Bo
So far a good experience as of now, the company has updated the firmware and I have had no issue but I understand your precautions. Thanks for joining the family and watching 👍🏼
Hi, does it recharge even with the car stationary with the engine running?
As long as you’re DC outlet is providing power it should charge
hi i know this is an old video but i was wandering can the barrel connector be used to solar charge the unit?? :)
Hi Aiden no, the barrel connector is an output. It can be charged by solar car charger or wall outlet. Definitely try solar pretty cool 😎
@@TechMadeEzy oh ok that's a bit of a shame its hard to carry full sized solar panel's on a bike. especially when I'm trying to keep my gear under 50kg . lol
You can buy smaller solar panels they make ones that mount to your backpack 😎
@@TechMadeEzy ive got the allpowers 160w panel but it can only output thu a barrel connector im not shore if i could just make my own cable but its something i think I'm going to have to try
They probably sell the cable separately that converts barrel to solar MC4
Great video. Can you use the new iPhone chords with that mini USB fast charging port?
Hi thanks so much, you mean the USB type c right ? If so yes you can
Did they fix the overheating issue while charging?
The software update did yes, works nice now.
@@TechMadeEzy good to know
Just got mine today for $75 that included solar panels lol
That is insane
X-Boost is 1800w, not 1200w. The 1200w is surge.
What is a dc5521
It's a Barell adapter plug, like what a laptop charger uses etc, that help?
Thanks for the information, can you turn the quiet charging off, or are you forced to get it with the firmware update ??
Hi Tony, thanks for watching
It seems to work now but that’s because of firmware updates honestly. Firmware updates fix some of the things people call in and complain about or issues the company finds.
@@TechMadeEzy thanks for the firmware update, I'm really closer to buying one now after my research of the product, your information helped alot.
It’s a nice size unit , only thing I would look at is the River pro also that’s expandable too and it has 720wh and can double to 1440wh, Let me know if you have any questions
@@TechMadeEzy I've been looking at the river pro 720w, confirming to see if it has the same functions as the river max just more power ??
Power is the same 600w but much more battery capacity which means it will last much longer.
Is it better to go with the original firmware and leave the update alone im thinking about buying me one
Definitely upgrade the firmware, improved it and has only gotten better from what I’ve seen
@@TechMadeEzy what about the fan issue of running slow on high power usage ?
Firmware fixed that, the fan does turn on to control the temp of the battery which it needs to do
@@TechMadeEzy ohh ok I must of misunderstood the video I thought you were saying that once you did the update the fan was running at a low or slow speed and never sped up at all
We did have issues, that video was posted a while ago. Since then we’ve updated firmware a couple of times and it works really well
How much is the capacity of the battery?
288Wh
@@TechMadeEzy i mean amp
Amp ?
2:38 did you say : "AC-adapter"? That is a AC-cable. The charging brick is inside. Might make it heavier but also easier because you can't forget to take it with you. They did some smart thing by combining the AC->DC with the DC->AC.
The car-charger is a good solid cable. However, many cars do not have the best quality plug therefore creating a not so good connection and heat will be generated. Be aware of that.
Good job, 2 comments. It seems when you describe the unit you insinuate it is 600 watts, only you call it a 6oo (it only means can put out 600 w) you need to say 288 watts.
Also I have been told by many sources that one should never bring the batteries down to 0 %, I never bring mine down below 20% and do not leave charged at 100%.
Where is the link for the 12 volt doubler you showed, I do not see the link to buy.
288wh is watt hours , 600w is actual wattage surge is 1200w
What link did you need?
@@TechMadeEzy The barrel plug to 12 volt adapter you showed.
And discharging to zero?
Barrel plug

On sale for 229 as I type.
Nice deal thanks Tim
Ok right, so i can't use this thing in Holland where we have 230 volts...damn.
I wonder if there is a proven voltage converter out there that would allow you to? Obviously you would void your warranty but, does it exist?
How do you turn in xboost without the app
Hi you have to use the app to turn it on Debbie
Will it stay on once you turn it on or does it have to be turned on each time you use it
You have to go in the app and set it to not turn off and you have to have the AC or the USB ports on also and that will keep it on
Thank you
Thanks for the review - I think it's the best one I've seen yet! Do you know if the DC ports are regulated so that they continue to provide power even after the battery is at ~50%, or do they shut off after the battery reaches a threshold? Good to know for both CPAP and DC portable fridges.
Let me double check that, that is very important. And thank you Allyn I appreciate your kind words
I looked over the manual and don’t see that but I will contact the manufacturer, give me a day or so
cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1996/9707/files/RIVER_600-English.pdf?v=1602484192
OK found out it is regulated 👍🏻
@@TechMadeEzy Thank you for checking that out.
My pleasure
You sound like stern... lol
Hey now
When its dropping the voltage the product its powering is no longer its rated wattage. You use VxA to get watts. You showed this with the heat gun. The power pack is just fooling the heat gun in this case. Also 74V is very very low and prety harmful for anything other than a resistance heater. I wouldnt use the X boost on anything else.
$250 on Amazon right now
It's almost worth getting 2 rivers instead of making 1 a river max.
No AC Outlet is a deal breaker.
You should be able to alter the fan speed on settings...
They definitely improved it with some software updates and when the battery does get hotter the fan will definitely kick on
USA 100%👍👍👍👍
Why didn't you show us what it can do without the extension battery?...this means youre more or less obliged to buy it...I want to know what it does without the extra battery.
All my tests were without the extension battery
@@TechMadeEzy ok thanks ..
