  • I make special segments where the glue joint is on an angle.
    Very tricky to make and glue together. But the results give a very stunning look.
    Made from Walnut, Cherry and Padauk.

    Oh, man, you are something else, Gary! Now I'm dizzy! You just keep topping yourself, week after week. Definitely the best segment turner and videos on CZcams. The way you explain each step is university level instruction. You are the PROFESSOR! Just great work, my friend. I'd say keep'em coming but I think you are due for a vacation after this one! 😊

      Thanks so much Phil! Hmm Professor I like that LOL. Now maybe I can get my own parking spot!
      I am a bit dizzy myself, but it might be from other things LOL. While doing this I made some shelves for my larger bowls and stands to put them on. So yes a vacation is in order! So I will just make something easy with less joints at least that is the plan.
      Thanks for watching, take care my friend,

    I just watched this for the second time. I'm sure I saw it about a year ago. I have a better appreciation for the cutting and layout now I believe. Unless there is a lot of work you didn't show, the glue up and lay up of the rings doesn't appear as difficult as your comments indicate. I understand the potential for slip of the diagonal joints but you appear to have overcome that problem with the plexiglass and the the press. The ring alignment appears dead on accurate. It did take me a bit of time before I understood your comments about the "mirror image" when cutting the segments. But I think I have that concept down pat now. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂

    • @ThePapa1947
      @ThePapa1947  Před 11 měsíci

      Thank you Glen. I will have to watch the video again myself to remember what I said but the fact that the joints are on an angle they will try to slide on you. The mirror image kind of fools you.
