    Finally! A comprehensive plastic guitar tapping guide. Which is perfect because this year my Clone Hero resolution was to finally learn how to tap/elbow strum properly despite me having played Rock Band causally since RB2. I've been wanting to learn how to play some more complex songs that I like without either bombing hard sections or overworking my fretting hand, so I'm gonna be using this guide a lot now that I've found this. Been doing ok but slowly on my own but learning properly feels better.

    Having played guitar in real life, and having tapped and done stuff on a real guitar + in guitar hero, I never understood why I was missing notes when I did. Now after watching this video and discovering alt-tapping, Irealize the problem wasn't with me, but with how the game processes the notes - I wasn't lifting the middle note enough during patterns, which messed up the pattern of notes (even if on a real guitar it wouldn't have made a noticeable difference). I see now that alt-tapping helps to keep the pattern of lifted notes consistent so theres no "smudging" of the notes (i.e. having green and red pressed down and lifting before I lift yellow)
    Anyone feel free to chime in and tell me if I'm wrong, but if I'm understanding things correctly, this is the advantage of the alt-tapping.

  • @foosbabaganoosh1
    @foosbabaganoosh1 Před 5 dny

    I don't need to tap, I simply hit every note individually with my fretting hand. I guess I'm just built different, idk.
    Jk it's incredibly impressive the notes you can play, fantastic job explaining the techniques perfectly. It really doesn't seem possible that the physical buttons could be pressed and de-pressed this quickly, but I guess getting a feeling for the button tolerance is a whole other aspect!

    Im fine with doing zig zags with one hand if it's green to blue and back or red to orange and back. When it goes green to orange and back is when I mess up.
    And I have to take a second to long tigure out where my tapping hand goes when I do use it.
    Edit: I just realized i can use my pointer fret finger and just slide up and down instead of pressing each fret finger individually.

Some setlists I can recommend though are Heather’s Underchart Setlist (there’s 4 I believe), JRsightreadGH’s underchart setlists are worth checking out as well. • @tgr_fighting998
    @tgr_fighting998 Před 10 měsíci

    Is it possible to make a video going over things like Ascending/Descending triplets where the notes aren't together? Like BRG or ORG & vice versa? At lower speeds the in this video work but in higher speeds as you have to use a different finger to tap it really starts to fatigue the wrist after a few seconds.

    • @djentleetv
      @djentleetv  Před 10 měsíci

      I could maybe make a short video on it, but the same method still applies at faster speeds. It just takes more practice as the notes are further away from each other and you need to stretch your fingers further. If your wrist is fatigued from playing try pushing out your elbow a bit so you can angle your wrist in a healthier position, and maybe reduce the amount of pressure you’re putting on the frets when tapping. Hopefully that helps somewhat :)
