In 2021, a doctor from Florida met with a group of men to plan the overthrow of the Haitian President. The plot triggered a series of events which led to the President’s death, the almost total collapse of the government, and the rise of mob rule in Haiti. So why is Kenya now being sent in to save the day Matt Bevan takes a look.

Great to hear this story to understand a troubled part of the world that has been smashed by the French, the Americans, and brutal men in Haiti itself.

Almost like Europeans and their descendants are some of the very worst people to be allowed onto one's territory.

Great presentation , factual and engaging . An hour or two ago I posted a question re;- the 1000 Kenyan police and their motive and eagerness to participate / lead the UN mission having been unconvinced by the explanation in an interview I`d heard on BBC World Service with the Kenyan minister which was basically an altruistic duty to help our brothers in difficulty in Haiti , from the kindness of our hearts . I might`ve guessed a little `you scratch my back and I`ll scratch yours ` from the U.S. might be behind it although might not the mission have a better chance of success absent the US amongst the peacekeepers I wonder . It still seems as you suggest an unlikely choice but an interesting theory . What a crazy story though , intriguing .....

Having just returned from Kenya, I can agree with the worry about Kenyan police being the ones to attempt to restore order, however I think it’s a great opportunity for Kenya to show their potential on the world stage. Beautiful country and people.

Don't think so, the one on the left is a car tyre. But being Haiti, burning bodies on the street wouldn't be a big surprise

might have been helpful to mention that most of those leaders were deposed sue to US and French intervention, Because Haiti was founded by a slave rebellion against France, the French believed they were owed "reparations" for their lost "property"

What a nightmare neighbors Dominican Republic have and now Haití is trying to diver the waters of an International River 6km into their land with the excuse of "agriculture" use.. (6km from the border there's no agricultural capable land) also building a dam that could potentially flood both Haitian side and Dominican side when Hurricanes hit the Island.. Haitian people have complete disregard for nature and human lives. But hey! They play the "victims" and the "unfairly treated" and every time the UN runs and throws millions at them! Of course those NGOs take all that money and it never gets to the hands of the Haitian people.
