Not true. They may not have liked each other but Buddy’s laugh was genuine. The combination of the punchlines written for Lynde combined with his excellent delivery of those particular jokes were right up Buddy’s alley and enough to crack him up.
Peter Marshall is still alive. Maybe because of aĺl the stress reducing laughter from Paul Lynde. Marshall has the biggest most beautiful, toothy smile.
You're so very welcome! I'm a Paul Lynde fan myself. & I've loved him so much since I was a youngin & I've loved everything that he was in. Even the movie that was a flop called "Rabbit Test " the ratings were so bad but I liked it cuz it was stupid and that he was in there.
@@PaulLyndeBlue Thanks. I've never heard of "Rabbit Test" so I'll look it up. He was just so funny, with that fantastic laugh. I adored "The Perils Of Penelope Pitstop" and "It's The Wolf! It's The Wolf!" His own show was on here as well in the 70s and he was great in "Bewitched." Yet only one friend I've talked with (of my age) seems to remember him and that friend loved him, too. I think Paul Lynde had a difficult life and wish he had been able to know how loved he was...so what you've posted online is there for everybody and that's brilliant.

Listen to Buddy Hacket laugh! I miss those people and those times
Hackett and Lynde hated each other. Hackett was mocking Lynde with the excessive laughter. He believed Lynde's answers were scripted.

Paul Lynde was so good in early days of the show he kicked loud mouth Bud Hackett off the center square.
To be honest with you think Buddy Hackett was extremely annoying and trying to be the center of attention.
Too bad these stars are no longer here. I used to watch the Hollywood squares. Great memories with these clips. Thanks for sharing
I think Karen valentine still around🌼
Paul lynde voice was great in The Perils of Penelope Pitstop
The shows where Paul isn't center square must have been early in the series.

I could hear Michael Landon's laugh in there.
I mean anyone that seems to laugh pretty loudly you could hear. We heard Rose Marie's laugh in there several times

Paul was the Squarest Square that ever Squared!
Ron Desantis is Paul Lynde nephew
My favorite (at 6:15) is the one about the number of men on a hockey team.
Both Buddy Hackett and I thought it was hilarious.
