  • He is one of the greatest Duke Blue Devils of all time, and one of the greatest NCAA point guards of all time. Jay Williams played three years for the Duke Blue Devils as one of the only freshman point guards to start for coach K. He would team with future NBA talent like Shane Battier, Carlos Boozer, Mike Dunleavy Jr. and Chris Duhon during his time at Duke. He would win three ACC tournament titles, a variety of individual awards and a National Championship in 2001. He left Duke after three years as the best player in College Basketball, and after Yao Ming was drafted 1st overall in 2002 NBA Draft, Jay Williams went #2 to the Bulls, but his rookie season wasn’t what most hoping for, however, he showed flashes and clearly had the potential, so there was still plenty of hope after one decent season. But in June 2003, he got in a serious motorcycle accident, which would end his career due to the injuries he sustained. Today he has carved a successful broadcasting career with some big name companies like ESPN, but that seems to be all he’s known for anymore. But for a brief period in the early 2000s, Jay Williams was one of the best point guards in basketball.

  • @justineebourgeois3420

    100% Overrated 🤷‍♀️

  • @calebellis7173

Elton Brand should be next, Duke legend and underrated PF Bulls and Clippers

  • @tonywhite7083

I dont remeber him missing that many shots...from Kentucky fan he was the Dude

  • @chrisrhodes2

Dude wasn't looking like a future all star. Never know what could have happened. But he felt like he was heading to bust status before the injury

  • @john94949

I'm not a scout. College ball, to me, is little more than a bunch of pickup games with annoying marching band "music." Come to think of it, I'd rather watch an actual pickup game. Less noise. It's all amateurs, anyway

  • @jordanmoore9318

He had to just get on a damn motorcycle

  • @DR05jr

He was gonna be solid but he didn't show any stardom once he hit the league..

  • @Spaghettineck

Damn his Bulls highlights are extremely rare. Thanks

  • @vittiriowashington5211

I'm 42 , J. Will "what if" story hits different for my generation, his career wasn't plaquedby injury(s), and still able to play like, Penny, D. Rose, etc. His injury ended his career in a single accident....One of da College goats. He replaced Will Avery from my hometown Augusta, Ga...

  • @Hendrix.Robinson

He was sooo nice, no cap what so ever!

  • @jasonic-ks2tm

Daris miles, maggette, Ron artest. Great video

  • @lashgoshotwheels1127

    Thank you 😊

  • @theorangeswami7981

They don't make college basketball teams like that anymore... So much talent on those Duke teams!

  • @skillymusic

Great! Now we also need Jayson Williams, center of the Nets and all-star in the late 90s.

  • @1980skevin

One of my favorite college players.

  • @KarlMalowned32

Off court stupidity ended his career. Sad, he had a long career ahead of him.

  • @StevenLoby

I couldn’t wait for him to go to nba. I remember hearing what happened and couldn’t believe it.
