I hold my own opinions on these topics, but with this I at least have the ability to see them from a factual viewpoint that, as Richard says, is so rare these days. Richard, thank you. 26:40 I am not a media student, but I recognized an analogous situation with a famous photo, "The Foot Soldier of Birmingham", later immortalized into a even more viciously dramatized statue It was featured in an episode of Revisionist History (Malcom Gladwell's podcast). The photograph captured a moment which had in reality nothing to do with the narrative, but it essentially became a symbol for it. That was in 1963

Also, on the topic of illegal immigration, are you aware of the crisis that the EU countries sharing the border with Belarus are facing? I would love to know of your thoughts on the matter. Thousands of immigrants suddenly started crossing the border to Lithuania, Latvia and Poland and the government had to enforce various policies to deal with it. Now the EU is pressuring Lithuania to ensure human rights since the immigrants are living either in tents (sub-zero temperatures), or live in buildings previously used for incarceration of inmates. The nation is clearly divided, some see human rights are being violated, others, being needlessly angry, being poor financially (by EU standards) and ignorant and most see immigrants being used by the Belarus regime as tools in a hybrid war, as reported by the media and conducted during EU leader summits. Might not be as major as the crisis in the US, but hell, this is something we haven't seen in the Baltics before.

There is a flow of massive disinformation coming from all sides. The border guards, I do believe, occasionally cross the moral and legal lines having not been in a scenario like this before or out of sheer spite, racism. They haven't been authorized to shoot on sight or anything. On the other side, it's in Belarus interest to spread lies about the behavior of the EU border guards. They actually film acted bogus scenarios supposedly incriminating Lithuanian, Latvian and Polish guards and use the footage as propaganda. Whether all the decisions made by Minsk are coming from Kremlin - that's a different argument. Most say that is the case. When you start looking into the situation more closely you could say it's Russia's attempt do destabilize EU. Would love to see more global coverage and investigations on the matter.

As someone who's been detained, denied entrance to the US, and then sent back to my original country under the Biden administration I gotta say shit has gotten a lot worse even for those that aren't illegally immigrating. Since before the Biden administration I have never heard of people being detained or anything of the sort while going for holidays or just to meet family, nowadays I hear that story at least once every few months. I don't know what they have done, but now regardless of what kind of immigrant/tourist you are you still have to suffer through this new "humanitarian" way of dealing with people. For anyone wondering I got sent a video back in 2018 that I didn't even know I ever received cuz in a whatsapp group with 150 unread messages it's impossible to know everything, they deemed it illegal and that's why they had to take and destroy my phone kick me out of the country and pay a $250 USD covid test that idfk what would've happened if I didn't have the money to do so lmao. So yeah, almost 3k considering I also helped a guy pay his covid test cuz you HAD TO HAVE A CREDIT CARD so they wouldn't take cash, yet taxes fuck me up because I live in 'Tina, life long trauma, a wasted trip, got my Visa banned for idk how long. All over some whatsapp video I didn't even know I had. Istg bin laden would've had an easier time.
