Sharon Salzberg guides a loving kindness practice (also known as the Buddhist metta meditation). Loving kindness meditation is a practice of offering warm, kind wishes first to ourselves and then to others. For this heart exercise, we might use phrases such as:
May I/you be safe.
May I/you be happy.
May I/you be healthy.
May I/you live with ease.
This meditation is part of a full live session with Sharon Salzberg and Sean Fargo of MindfulnessExercises.com, host of the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training Program. Learn more about how to certify to become a mindfulness meditation teacher:

#mindfulness #meditation #lovingkindness - Zábava
Thank you so much ❤️
Lovingkindness, at least once, directly because of this meditation practice I feel perhaps I will fall into darkness and yet the light of mtta is preserved for me, a new Buddhist flower is there
Well that was pretty amazing
Loving kindness for Sharon Salzberg, may she continue to stay in good health, and inspire compassion intuitively in all who see her. Sharon has made a lot of compassion meditations accesible to the public and the fruits of this are simple and sweet, a kinder world now today. Loving-kindnes of being aware of the overt and subtle things that Sharon's buddhist seeds have blossomed into. There is a sacred and uplifting air about all things touched by the unrestrained stream of metta. Sharon is a buddha, nothing exists.
Your admiration for Sharon is like ours. Much gratitude!
@@MindfulnessExercises Yes, I am also merciful upon my self
And then my self reveals more truth
Truth is kind
The Buddha also said this thing, let us have mercy on ourselves, even if we are emptiness, let us be the Buddha emptiness
Because nothingness
Is always there
The Buddha is eternal, in this way I am merciful to realize that nothingness is happiness. This is a form of nothingness. (sometimes I am thinking of it as, Sharon Salzberg is a form of nothingness, a fractal shaped as the Buddha)
Thank you Sharon!
One of my favorite videos on CZcams hands down
This is wonderful to hear!
Good heart, good vital ki!
Namaste 🙏🏻
Thank you. May you be happy, may you be safe, may you be healthy, may you live with ease.
Thank you
Awesome! Thank you both, so much, for sharing this meditation.
How wonderful, and timely! 👍🙏☮️
Very glad you enjoyed this!
This may be a stupid question but everyone wishing safety and happiness to all beings are vegan right? It shocked me to see some from my Sunday morning yoga class eating bacon after making a similar wish at the end of the class; I was puzzled. Sure hope so, if not, it kinda messes up the vibe for me. I would be fine if the wishes didn't mention all beings, that's not it, it would be a blindness to reality that very smart people can't or choose not to see. Again????
Perhaps it's a good thing if we each begin cultivating and expressing love and compassion in whatever way we can, versus waiting until we are perfect in order to begin.
@@MindfulnessExercises Yes, that is a good thing. Still, if you express love and compassion for all beings and then are directly involved in their suffering and death you are cultivating oppression and cruelty. I'm pretty sure you eat deliberately with forethought, next time you're eating animal flesh; pause; meditate on/become mindful of, how it suffered and how you might reduce that suffering. The more people you influence and give the green light to, the more you cultivate evil, what else could it be called. You don't have to become vegan, simply begin talking a talk you are willing to walk and end this blatant hypocrisy that would be obvious to a six-year-old. I admire Sharon and Joseph, I meditate two hours each day and try to be mindful each day. Given the persona of wisdom they seemingly like to project, I can't be silent about this large hole in their compassion bucket. I don't know if the word "bullshit" exists in Sanskrit lexicon but the response above like the Dali Lama's answer to why he welcomes people slaughtering baby sheep for him to eat has me thinking there should be. @Mindfulness Exercises
