- This is just a preview of the 3.3v to 5v one-way level shifter project I'm about to start offering!
This started out as merely an adapter cable idea:
* • Video
Then I realized that the LED strips technically work best with a level shifter... so I got to designing!
This allows easy, NO SOLDERING and NO CRIMPING connection from your ESP or Raspberry Pi projects DIRECTLY to various 5v devices, specifically designed for the WS2812B Individually-Addressable LED strips!
This is a teaser, in the next week you'll see the full Hyperion / Ambilight 2.0 project (as I call it) where I simplify the setup. Including this Level Shifter, you'll be able to complete a Hyperion TV project without breaking out a soldering iron OR owning a "crimp tool".
Stay tuned, hit Subscribe, and the next video will lay out everything you need to make this live-changing alteration to your TV and Movie watching experience a reality!
I know it sounds like click-bait but trust me, it's all here... and the follow-up video will be totally worth it!
Thanks for watching!
I am not affiliated with JLCPCB in any way (yet???) but I do like their service thus far.
Background music provided by CreatorMix.com - specifically I used the track "Ritualis" from the album "Rituals". Check them out if you're a creator -- no affiliation, they just provide music "by creators, for creators" and I use them quite a lot :)

Great job on the editing. It's a lot of work for a 5 minute video but it's greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much. Most people don't realize quite how much goes into some of these videos. I clocked a little over 8 hours to take about 13 minutes of footage and whittle it down to the 5 minutes.
Comments like this make it totally worth it, because there are those moments where it feels super tedious - just knowing that there are people out there who actually appreciate the extra effort makes it all worth it 😁😀
I only regret crinkling that Mylar bag so close to the LAV mic... LOL
If this guy is self taught...... Then I really hope he is either being funded or at least soon to be funded. A brilliant mind is often a diamond in the ruff!!
Wow, thank you so much! I am self-taught, been working with electronics since I was about 6 years old ... I'm not quite funded but I'm getting close to that point. Very soon I'm going to open up memberships on youtube, offering some behind the scenes and outtakes and other little perks for those who wish to help support the channel...
❤
Hello.
Can you please tell me the resistor values?
Thank you!
Part of me wants to say that's a trade secret lol, but if you watch the video closely, you can see the resistors on the handmade version. Additionally, there's a part where you can see my schematic drawing on a piece of paper where I literally wrote down those resistor values... 😁
@@JustinNelsonsProjects Hi! in the new version you add one resistor, more big, you can tell me what is?, because in the handmade version you only put 3 resistors. its all i need please!!!! i from argentina and can not buy your model from here, mi country has a not good import things... sucks really
