People are realizing that no lives matter unless a Democrat can exploit the corpse for personal or political gain. I'm serious, it's why thousands of tragedies are overlooked or barely mentioned in the news, and only certain ones get constant focus. There were multiple 2020 riots where government buildings were even so much as burned to the ground or hit with fireworks. Cities were on fire. Billions in damages were done. Thousands were injured, dozens killed, and dying children were threatened at a charity house that was trashed in Chicago in August of 2020 (for real, look it up). But instead of 4 years of news stories and blown up charges for walking in velvet rope lines, these things were called "mostly peaceful".

In what sense? The United States already has the highest incarceration rate in the world, and the problem is not a racial or drug issue, either. Nor is the problem due to private prisons which house only 8% of the US prison population. The problem is due to longer and harsher sentencing, like mandatory sentencing for the same crimes in comparison to other countries. The law in the US over-criminalizes infractions and enjoys punishing people.

Basically.. they used the law/charge wrong. "Obstructing or impeding an official proceeding" - carries a 20-year maximum penalty and is part of a law enacted after the exposure of massive fraud and shredding of documents during the collapse of the energy giant Enron. Prosecutors must show a defendant impaired records, documents or other objects for use in an official proceeding.
      Hope this helps!
