The more I hear Niemann rant, the more I will root for his opponents. For a brief period, I felt like he was falsely accused, and was displaying some great chess skills. Falsely accused or not, he should stop making claims about his talent and future that remain unproven. For someone who says just let the chess speak for itself, he seems to have an oversized ego and mouth to boot.
Yeah, those are red flags for a person that desires a little boost during the game.
Having a goofy and even anti social personality if different than being a chess cheater.
Do anti socials cheat more than others? Actually yes they do. BUT far as I know other than what hes admitted to he is mostly just guilty of having a really low functioning EQ

Magnus is proving that he can win with just about ANY opening move. So, the concept of "disrespect" based on an opponent's opening move is losing its sting. ANY opening can be dangerous when played well. GM's need to get over this "disrespect" nonsense and play the board, not the man.

Nah, Magnus playing anything in the opening is him being disrespectful to his Opponents. He's saying they're not good enough to beat him even if he uses bad openings. It's a powerful statement. And it's a another point to his case that he is just a tier above the rest of his competition at the moment.

Why would you ever say “…best ONLINE player…” that is really really revealing it would be like a soccer player saying i want to be the best indoor soccer player in the world
I never studied openings so I would sometimes play a3 so I wouldn't get caught by a known trap i didn't know with my basic understanding of normal openings.
I've had fairly good luck in blitz online playing "junk" openings versus players who usually beat me in standard openings. Makes you wonder. I tend to think that a lot of "junk" openings can readily transpose into playable positions.
It's because you might be a better player than them positionally, but they rely on engine analyzed openings

i.e: Fianco destro or Ala destra -> right wing.

Very nice game... Niemann had some chances to win, I guess blitz games are very difficult to accurate, but the kid did a great job here!!

At 10:17 after the "good move" Qb1 the White bar goes way down. So what was better? Hard to see, maybe Bd5 to block the Rook's path? Also at 9:39 after Qd6 the bar goes up, does White have Qf5 there? Unsure how accurate the computer's evaluation bar really is, especially in the opening.
