As a lifelong Pacer fan and Indiana resident, I didn't want the Pacers to draft Reggie. Steve Alford baby! Hometown hero! Took Indiana University to 1987 NCAA championship! Wow, was I wrong. I still love Steve but Reggie is my favorite NBA player of all time. Nobody competed harder and gave me great moments and memories as a basketball fan. I know he is not the greatest to ever lace em up, but for me, Reggie is my favorite basketball player of all time! Thank you Reggie for everything you did not only for the Pacers on the court but for Indiana on and off the court.
Jason Elliott people look me me crazy when I say that.....I’d still take Reggie for a buzzer beater!
Jason Elliott I'm from China. The words you said "Nobody competed harder and gave me great moments and memories as a basketball fan" is exactly my thought too. Thank you for speaking out.
there's like 15 different people talking about reggie.... and you call it magic johnson's thoughts on reggie miller
FULLmeltHASH lol
FULLmeltHASH everybody talks about reggie miller
FULLmeltHASH That way they Know, you are going to watch. But half way in I haven't seen my home boy so I stopped watching.😋
...and they were LEGENDS like Clyde, Dominique, Pat Riley and Chris Mullin.
Preach!
i don't think i ever heard magic talk bad about any player
+PassDaRoc1089 lmao
dwight howard
zeke
Magic is a gentleman, he's not the type to say stupid things on TV, unlike Donald Sterling.
JMS1089 he ones said Westbrook was the worst point guard in NBA finals history. But later he praised him as well.
I miss watching these guys play.
Its not only about stats. Miller's ability to be 'clutch' in crucial situations and big moments makes him an all-time great. There are a lot of players who's stats are much higher but chokes during crucial situations but this player craves those moments, he wants those rivalry match ups and that makes him a heck of a player. No one can teach that. Its not about the 3s or making the all-star number of times, its the arsenal of Miller that makes him deadly especially in the endgames. These qualities are very rare.
Nathan Trajano Facts. Facts
Aaaand another time that ''the choking Knicks pest, and very focused too'' is the whole highlight and achievement of this average player in accolades, abilities and stats.
@@dusk6159 Is that English? Your comment makes no sense.
had Reggie and Chris Mullin stayed together greatest shooting duo ever
Hi edagdwg thanks for sharing this story of what happens when you know yourself as a child of God and respect for others being yourself is real love Reggie a real fan Linda j peace 🦋🦋🦋🦋☮️☮️☮️🐦🐦
So many legendary moments but that game winner clip against the Celtics they played while Pat Riley was talking I remember watching that game with my friend, not nearly as famous as the other ones but I remember that shot deflating the room after we thought the C’s had it sealed, happy they threw that in there I haven’t seen it since it happened
Bro can you find that game or how I can watch it I’ve been trying to watch it with my dad he loves Reggie Miller and I want to watch that game and see his reaction to that shot but I can’t find it anywhere on the Internet
Back in the day I hated Reggie with a passion, how he would just drive a dagger into my Knick heart during the playoffs, compounded by his abrasive demeanor... and now, I have the world of respect for him. Absolutely one of the greats, among the true talents to have ever stepped onto the basketball court. Add to this how damn friendly this guy is in real life, and how his military upbringing concealed a gentlemen under the aura of pitched, red hot NBA rivalry which consumed the entire planet during the Jordan Era. Thank you Reggie, your name is spoken with much respect among the old timers, even though, in our youth we would have gladly strangled you! Peace ✌
Orion Strongman that was beautifully articulated man. You still rmain tru as a Knicks fan while paying homage to one of the greatest Knicks killers of all time! Lol, but much respect!
Just again the only achievements and abilities of Reggie Miller are choking Knicks defeats and being a great trashtalker and focused, some virtual NBA history archive must have reached six 0 digit at this point.
He used to come into the restaurant I worked at once or twice a week for sushi, this was in the late 90s early 2000s. The owner's dad had been involved in Taiwan's national basketball team and they struck up a friendship. We had a private room with a big table in back that the owner's dad would give Miller massages on lol. I got to sit in Miller's box at Conseco a bunch of times which was cool. He used to give the owner tickets all the time.
I also have a signed hat from him. I never said anything or treated him any different than any other customer but it was cool seeing him in person and he's one of the few celebrities I ever waited on that I actually cared about.
His then wife was pretty trashy and crazy though, she's the one that burned his house down. She used to get drunk and walk through the restaurant before games yelling things like "Go Pacers! Fuck the Knicks!" and this was a nice restaurant.
But Miller was always very respectful and quiet, he came in to eat alone a lot after practice or whatever. I remember he used to put teriyaki sauce on his sushi rolls which I always thought was gross lol.
Facts lol
one of the greatest players of all time
nah
Jonathan Tinsley Yes
If Reggie Miller is one of the greats hop in half of the NBA role players in the list (and in the HOF).

I was watching that game where he pushed off Jordan and hit the game winning shot, live, at a restaurant I worked at. We had a sushi bar and these two Bulls fans were sitting there watching the game, pissed off, because they had bought tickets from a scalper that turned out to be fake.
Anyway they were sitting at the sushi bar just running their mouths, nonstop, I mean they were belligerent. They were talking trash right up to when Miller hit that shot, there was like a second left on the clock so the Bulls still had a shot but they missed it and those two jokers got up bitching and moaning about how the refs gave the game to the Pacers, blah blah blah, they were talking trash the whole way out while everyone in the restaurant gave it right back to them. It was great.
He was Loyal to a town that wasn't loyal to him. He deserves to be in the Hall Of Fame. Great Player!
Whut? Reggie is a god here in Indy...I believe for some years now TNT has not allowed him do his TV commentary here because the Fieldhouse faithful kept interrupting his broadcasts with loud, booming _REG-GIE_ chants (I know, cause I was one of 'em...😁)...Pacers had a 19,000-plus sellout crowd who all stayed two more hours (almost til midnight) for a post-game appreciation ceremony honoring his last regular season appearance...they had another appreciative SRO crowd for retirement of his jersey number...he was inducted into the HOF in 2012. We do agree he was a great player tho.
Most clutch players of all-time: MJ, Jerry West, Larry Bird, Reggie Miller, Kobe Bryant.
+MrFraiche larry? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Kobe?
Paul Pierce ... -_-'
deandre Jordan?
Shaquille O'Neal
Reggie was the man!😊🎉❤
He will always be one of my favourites, plus he is incredibly funny
LOL that push off at 1:36 , Miller was a beast!
Just giving Jordan back what Jordan did to him and a million other players.
Any other team the Pacers would've faced in the 2000 Finals and Reggie would've gotten his ring, but the Mighty Shaq and Kobe was just too much at that time.
Yeah if only the Blazer had held onto that lead against Shaq and them, could of been oh so different for a lot of people.
+Realist2192 nah Rick Smits aint guarding Malone...no way
Or if the Malice in the Palace in 2004 didn't happen.
Romeofud they were in their prime dude and just getting warmed up. I hated them but i respect em
Harri v'Jah but Davis brothers could do some efforts there.
The massive shove on Jordan at 1:37
the NBA now got a bit soft with fouls
back in the Pistons-Celtics rivalry everyone got soooo physical
Especially Bill Laimbeer
He love the game
90s nba was way better then now
It was to me because players didn't collude with each other to go to teams to win titles. If Jordan's Bulls were around now Lebron and Durant would have tried to join them to win rings.
Great player
Excellent interviews
Sassonic from other ALL TIME GREATS with Magic as one of the greatest ever! So to ppl who say Reggie was overrated? Just show em this video!
@@leonardobraynen1524 Polite all time greats too can only mention Knicks highlights, clutch and trashtalk though, I guess you don't have your bail out from the facts.
WTF??? HOW IS MAPS (the song by Maroon 5) PLAYING AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS VIDEO IF THIS VIDEO CAME OUT IN 2012 AND MAPS ONLY CAME OUT IN 2014???????
"Maps" was cropped from another song
1:12 where can I watch this game?
1:24 magic lol
My memory of Reggie is after the 25 4th qtr points in game 5 vs the Knicks in 94, his Pacers lost game 6 at home that would've clinched it THEN only scoring 4 points in the 4th qtr of game 7 and his airball at the end of the game.
The airball was caused by great defense
Potential foul on the play too!
@akitrehead... i agree!
A makeup-less Chris Mullin (1:49) could have easily portrayed Marv in Sin City.
Yet I bet he's still had more pussy than you, me and every dude in this comment section put together. Mullin was deadly in his prime.
i prevail
1:41, One Direction Fan Girl Moment... XD
+SherlockRedstone lol
I hated reggie miller. we used to call him the jacko-lantern because of his teeth..
but we all understood how dangerous he was. To me, he was one of only 3 players who I feared in the clutch (all time).. Reggie, Jordan, & larry bird.. Dont dare taunt these guys or wake them up.. They will kill you if you fall asleep
Also Ray Allen. Man that guy would have me worried in the clutch
1:36, He shoved Michael Jordan out of the way... Reggie Miller always does that
+SherlockRedstone
nba rules back then allowed all tybe of bushing shoving elbowing
On inbounds plays, when Jordan needed to get open and his man was guarding him tightly, Jordan had a technique of grabbing his man around the waist and throwing him the opposite direction of where Jordan was going to get open. Jordan would often do this illegal tactic in the low post amidst all the other players where he could mask the act and knowing that refs often pocket their whistles in the final minutes of games.
G Ryen Interesting...
Jordan also pushed Bryon Russell during his career ending shot when he was on the Bulls.
SherlockRedstone no whistle no foul
Miller > Curry ANY DAY
Why he played only 5 all stars game
Too many stars in guard position back in days in EAST. MJ, Isiah Thomas, Joe Dumars, Penny Hardaway, Mark Price, Glen Rice, AI, Jason Kidd, Ray Allen. Reggie Miller has to compete 4 all star slots for guards each year. Then it makes it very difficult, since most people like those dunk/crossover guards which Reggie is not. Also MJ/Penny/Thomas/Dumars/AI/Kidd these players automatically locked 2-3 slots in All star, not much left for others.
Leapheng LENG Sadly he was too average for even minor spots for multiple times (but it was no problem for the HOF to get him in anyway though).
Reggie always beat up by his big sis. So his sister is grater
Magic states the obvious, once again.
You were hating on reggie miller.........that's ..why you didn't like him............and his black..............double punishment..............
Reggie....I play ZERO DEFENSE.....Miller.
No problem if he at least backed it up with above average offense (or at least superior shooting, his specialty, when he still was average), but hey, I guess for the HOF it was still plenty.
You clearly know nothing about 31. His defensive intensity and ability to muster up the energy after running his defenders ragged on the offensive end is unmatched. Miller had the best conditioning of any player, ever.
The far ocean positionally pretend because mayonnaise trivially concern during a sore banjo. late, late cat
Reggie OVERRATED Miller - czcams.com/video/S8JGRCK5Xbs/video.html
Watch the video and we'll talk,, but gotta watch it thought
the guy who said that never watched reggie play and just looked at his stats in wikipedia
Larry bird>reggie miller >>>>>>>>>>Stephanie curry
how many rings does Reggie have? Stephanie has more I think...
Supernova12034 Curry's a better shooter than all of them difficulty wise and accuracy wise
Ethan Tampus Yeah, Steph has better range than Bird and Reggie... but Bird and Reggie are more clutch than Curry... Curry id great when they are up big... But when the game is close and when the stakes are high, Curry could not make a shot... that was the reason why they lost in 2016... that is why he have yet to win a Finals MVP... Curry was not Curry in the Finals...
Ethan Tampus nope
Arne Cruz better range my ass
Im sorry but Reggie Miller is overrated his accomplishments don't match the respect he gets. Wasn't good enough to be the man. Great shooter but if he was that clutch why did they get bounced early in the playoffs so much in his career. His feud with Spike and the Knicks and going up against Jordan and losing made people think he was better then he was. Only made all nba 3rd team a few times. Averaged 18 3 and 3 that is not even close to all time great.
Trust me there was never a lack of effort on his part
88smjls You're too young.
Haha you must be 12. The Pacers made it to the Eastern Conference Finals multiple times and even went to the NBA finals once. Look at the teams the Pacers lost too. Most of the time those teams went on to the finals or won the championship. The Pacers were always bumped from the playoffs because they almost always had the worst match ups for them possible. Remember basketball is a team sport, not just one player. Also do you think Scottie Pippen or John Stockton are great players? Reggie Miller scored more than they did and most people would argue those 2 players were better than Miller.
+88smjls They really referring to his individual achievements and impact being the Pacers was underdog team. Most 3 points in NBA History up to recent and most Playoff free throws in NBA playoff up to recent and yes I WAS FUCKING CLUTCH WITH THE GAME ON THE LINE...He doesn't deserve and KOBE does approve him as one of the most difficult he stand up against.
What you just wrote, let's me know you've never watched Reggie Miller play a day in your life.
bahaha..Regie was a looser
English please... A "looser"?
val goozy you high or something?! The man is a legend
the fact of the matter is no one will remember him from this present generation. i started watching the NBA in 88 and then he was special but after he retired I forgot....so just saying he was a 2nd-3rd tier star. simple as that. Drexler was better than he ever was....just saying.
Hall of Fame caliber? Fuck no!
