i was a 13 year old pistons fan at this time and i balled my freakig eyes out... hell, im 25 now and damn near teared up all over again watching this just now.
As a lifelong Hoosier and die hard Pacers fan it broke my heart Reggie wasn't able to get a ring. With his greatness, leadership, loyalty, work ethic, and his unwaivering class he deserved it. "Reggie Reggie Reggie!"
Reggie deserved every ovation, every compliment, every accolade he got! I am a MJ fanatic for life but I have never seen anyone who could shoot quite like Reggie.
I remember watching Pacer games with my Dad especially during the playoffs on TV. I started to play Basketball and wanted to be like Reggie. Though now I don't play anymore, I still believe a lot of what the Man stood for in not giving up has helped me become who I am. Thanks for the Memories #31. True class act.
Reggie was wise to retire while still in great shape and still playing well, scoring 27 points. I've seen many greats hang on a little too long and then are forced into retirement when they're over the hill or injuries start plaguing them. But with Reggie he left still on top of his game or close to it. And he's a class act, never discrediting a team when he loses and shows respect when beating them. He's a rare specie. And I will always remember those killer 3s. Hitting them time and again with the game on the line.
Agreed. This was a great game for him to have gone out on. One of his best games of the season, in front of the home crowd .... Beautiful. Sad, no question about it .... but still beautiful nonetheless.
Reggie is my childhood idol! I remember being at the game where he hit two 3's and two Free throws in 8 second with his Indiana jeresy in Madison Square Garden! Reggie hold a special place for me, he gotten me though some hard time in my life with awesome play.. he will be miss!
