Wes, for all the talk of his tech skill, needs to grind ledge dash. I was saying it throughout the game, then he lost the set by a slow getup. Leffen's ledge dashes were immaculate.
I believe he said one of his controllers is good for everything but ledge dashes, and his other controller is bad for everything and great for ledge dashes.

@@aoimiyazaki589 Isn't Westballz the same guy who wasn't in favour of ucf shield drop mod because he thought everyone could find their controllers shield drop sweet spot even if some are harder than others? No controller johns for ledgedashes too.
+SenpaiCry I remember that, and I might be wrong, but I think he ledge dashed more on FD. Probably because he was winning and could afford to, but you gotta do them when your under pressure like Leff does.

@@akiratano1226 I have, but Fox vs. Falco is much more fun to watch. The top 3 sets of the year so far are Genesis GFs, Smashcon GFs, and Leffen vs. Westballz. Swedish vs Armada is a close runner up

Fox vs Falco is the sickest character matchup, but imo Armada's Peach vs M2K's Marth in specific is even more nuts.

Ngl, the fact that it was looking almost like the reset was there, but Leffen could deal with the crowd against him makes it really hype as well.

The hug by Leffen by the end wasn't necessary but he did it anyway. Just goes to show how much he's grown as a player and a person and their mutual respect for each other and their rivalry.
I think they're actually cool with each other now. I know there for a minute they fucking hated each other, but I don't really ever see or hear about any bad blood between them nowadays.

Leffen makes this matchup look really hard for falco. He's so fast to DD grab or upsmash when falco is coming down. He was really good about catching Wes when he was full hopping and double jumping away too.

what a dope outcome either way. the players had an amazing set, the crowd was obviously leaning for the underdog, and yet when leffen gets the reverse 3-0 they still pop off and start cheering and chanting for him. then show west more love. such an awesome vibe from this tourney. more melee should be like this.

Just imagine if westballs grinded and labbed his laser mind games he would be so nasty. But because he doesn’t laser to it’s max potential people play him like a fox which is a matchup so many people know and it gives him a disadvantage

Yea if he could develop a consistent neutral game, he'd be so damn good. I think he has been trying to change up his playstyle and use more lasers, but then he gets frustrated and just reverts back to his standard bair-uptilt neutral.
I think it's a confort zone thing...
I sometimes focus on specific stuff and after a couple mistakes my brain default to what I'm used to which in my case is horrible neutral, horrible combo game and a strong tendancy to roll for the middle.
I suck at this game.

I hate it when my two favorite players have two play against each other cause I don't k ow who to cheer on
Wow, no wonder that armada respects this guy so much.. bc without a doubt leffen is a mad genius.
As much as the crowd helped westballz to reach his limit in the first two games, they did also hinder leffen to reach up to his... just imagine going against a guy who always has an army behind him and it doesn't matter how often or by how far you beat him, at the end it is always him who gets all the recognition. Just to think about, what must have gone through his mind during the "fuck him up" chants after leffen did his best for the last two years to work on his image, that is just unbearable!
And right as he had 100 thoughts running through his mind, westballz fired the most aggressive gameplay ever at him
And still he overcame his mentallity after only two games, completely figured westballz playstyle out, won three games in a row, hugged westballz afterwards and even smiled at the crowd after the westballz applouse...
I habe never felt so much respect for a smasher before after a set.

Not sure if srs, but PAL is playable in both 50hz and 60hz (no hacks needed).
