One of the things I love about Origami King is the Open World,which IMO is a nice change of pace and I hope the next instalments will keep it. BTW,my list:
-Prologue:just copy-paste the same things I said for the Prologue in the TTYD ranking
-Red Streamer:a great way to start off the Adventure! Picnic Road and Overlook Mountain were really fun to explore,same for the Earth Temple and Overlook Tower,the Boss Fights were,well,just tutorials,but that's fine
Also,I love trolling that Monty Mole until he drops the price of the Sphere to 300$
-Origami Castle:a great Final Dungeon,for sure,but honestly it should've been longer:I love the music,the Atmosphere,the cutscene where the Castle gets folded,the various threats spread throughout it,the Bosses,and it did overall a good job as a buildup to Olly
-Yellow Streamer:the most original Desert Area in any Mario game IMO;the music is sweet,the Dungeons are fun to go through,and it puts you through an incredible Rollercoaster of emotions:grief,mystery,fear,relax and absolute joy. Every time I get to Snif City I think I just died,and went to Heaven(got the reference?). Speaking of which:
-Green Streamer:Scissors is still one of my favorite Mario Villains,mostly because of how it's portrayed;Shy Guy Last Finish was fun,Kamek will always be the best and man,Bowser's Castle was an absolute blast:easily my favorite dungeon in the game,the War,the Cutout Soldiers and Scissors really sealed the deal for me
-Blue Streamer:you can't go wrong with traditional Japanese-themed areas:Autumn Mountain and Shogun Studios were a blast,the music is really good and the buildup to Rubber Band was,well,spectacular! I only wish Eddy River wasn't there,since as a completionist,it's literally in my Top 10 least favorite achievements ever
-Purple Streamer:the various Zelda references,the Islands,the music,the Dungeons,and the Bosses are all amazing;sure,Tape had the least buildup out of the Bosses,but he makes up for it since the Fight was amazing and his Theme is BOPPIN

My Ranking:
6. Red Streamer (World 1)
It’s a pretty dull chapter with really nothing interesting aside from Whispering Woods.
5. Origami Castle (World 6)
The rest of this list was super hard to make, but this World just felt too short. At least the Stapler Fight was really good.
4. Yellow Streamer (World 3)
Out of all the worlds in this game, aside from the first world, this one has the most downtime. After Bobby’s death, things don’t get too exciting until getting Professor Toad.
3. Purple Streamer (World 4)
I love Wind Waker references although there were Phantom Hourglass moments in there. This chapter was really fun but it wears off on you the more you play. And no funny Penguin Detective to keep things fresh either.
At least Tape was another excellent fight.
2. Green Streamer (World 5)
Talk about a beautiful place for a spa. It’s great having Kamek and Bowser Jr. with you thanks to their cute interactions with each other, and Bowser’s Castle is actually straight out of horror this time thanks to the best boss in the game: Scissors. Ultimately the main issue here is how rushed Shangri-Spa itself feels. Aside from the baths, you’re really just exploring a hub world rather than an enemy infested land until two certain springs. Still a Top 10 chapter in the series.
1. Blue Streamer (World 2)
How do I put this one into words… let’s start with Bobby and Olivia’s chemistry. They really feel like true friends and it hammers home how sad Olivia gets when Bobby dies. Then there’s Autumn Mountain and wow! This is such a pretty location complete with the Water Vellumental Shrine and Chestnut Valley below the mountain. And then there’s Shogun Studios which is easily the best area in the game. You have a lot to explore and the Ninja Attraction and Big Sho’ Theater are what help this area stand out. Especially the Rubber Band fight which is easily the best boss in the game aside from Scissors. I think I’ve proven my case. This game is really good.

I know that you are only a MARIO rpg youtuber, but even if you didn't make content on it, I would highly recommend trying out Bug Fables on the switch. It's the closest thing we'll ever get to an og paper mario, and it's just a really good game.
I definitely would try it and possibly make it for a video, idk, playing the origianl Paper Mario is more on my mind though

I personally I always thought the prologue ended after the cut scene with Bowser and Mario trying to escape peaches castle as it rises up into the air. I always thought chapter 1 was The place with the talking trees all the way to overlook tower😂
thats a long chapter 1 lol, I honestly think that picnic road has more of a feeling of the start of the game compared to the woods though which is why thats where I think it starts

Personally I think that this game has one of the best build ups to a final boss I have ever seen in the video game. After you break the green streamer everything after that leads up to the final boss in all of it is super exciting and fun. The thing is though I don’t like the ending of this game as much as everyone else does. The final boss is pretty easy and anti-climactic making this the third Mario game on the switch to have a easy and anticlimactic final boss (the other two are super Mario odyssey in Luigis mansion 3). The ending of the story is that Olly dies and Olivia uses the 1000 cranes to wish that everything all folded became normal again and then Olivia dies. First I guess we’re going to ignore the fact that the thousand crane technique definitely would’ve been used by other villains in the past games Something that shouldn’t be ignored is that why does Olivia even get to Make the wish? Olly fold a 999 cranes and Olivia only folded one. I thought the entire point of the wish is that you had to fold 1000 to get the wish. Olivia only folded one. Second off I feel like everyone forgets that almost every enemy in the game that you fight is an innocent person being mind controlled by Olly. How many folded soldiers died in this game? Well that question is never answered and the fact of them being mind controlled is never really brought up again after the prologue. My point is Olivia could’ve made a wish that could’ve saved all of the people that had died in this game. Olly literally murders two people on screen at the beginning of the final chapter. What is instead of the wish she actually made Olivia wish to that after her brother folded her can you turn the good. That way none of the events of the story would’ve even happened and everyone would’ve been saved. I know some people would be mad by this technically being “it was all just a dream ending” but personally I actually think it would’ve been a way better ending than the one we got. Not to mention if they actually did you this ending Bobby wouldn’t of died. My last complaint about the ending is that Olivia‘s sacrifice is so stupid. She basically killed herself for no reason. All she would’ve had to do is reward her wish. I really like this game but there are just so many problems with the ending that it kind of hurts my experience with it a little bit
Ok the ending is very strange I agree but the last part of Olivia sacrificing herself I agree with the most since it’s just out of nowhere ☠️, she didn’t even need to for the world to be saved.
@@ShroobInvader yeah Olivias sacrifice felt really forced. Hueys sacrifice from color splash was a lot better honestly because he actually had to sacrifice himself and there was no way around it and also he never actually died
I prefer how SPM did it imo
But the olny complaint I have there was the game is so easy

I realy like yellow stream, but the fire vellementell cave SUCKS, the part where you have to dig the stones really sucked and the hints don't make that much sense, impossible to beat without a walkthrough. The irl pokey fight sucks, the sniffit game is total BS I have no f**king clue on how your suposted to do it without a
walkthrough TF. AND the 1st part of the shroom temple is bland. I do like the battle music, snif city,professor toad, the hole puncher, thrills at night, and sniff city again cuz it's good.
I personally really like this game, yea… the final boss’ reason for being a villain is kinda bad, but I thoroughly enjoyed this game
and hey its only the final boss so the rest of it can still be great without that

Olly's reason wasn't necessarily bad,but rather wasn't told properly:
To start off,how would you feel if your father tatooed your body when you were just a kid? Sure,he could've written something like "me and mom will always be with you",but it would still hurt psychologically:a psychological wound at a very young age can influence a person more than we normally imagine
Also,in Japan it's considered Taboo to write or use tools on Origami,which is something Craftman Toad did in order to create him
It also fits well with what Color Splash and Origami King's stories are all about:people
During these 2 games,you will meet a lot of Characters,who may look the same at 1st,but each and everyone has something going on,and creates powerful bonds with others:
And who could be the perfect Villains for this kind of story? Of course,a genocidal maniac and a parasyte that can corrupt people,just like Dimentio,a megalomaniac and merciless jester,was the perfect Villain for SPM's love story

Pretty sure the red streamer world starts when mario falls onto the tree after escaping peach’s castle.
That may be the case, but that makes the prologue way less substantial and also makes world 1 do better on this list. Whispering Woods also didn’t have the world 1 feeling that picnic road had
@@ShroobInvader that is true. The only reason i think that is because whispery woods and toad town are part of the red streamer if you look at the world map.
If you break the game up into classic Paper Mario chapters following the formula of the first game, Whispering Woods - Toad Town would be the Prologue

I agree with everything that you said in this video about each area. I might plan on making a couple more Mario & Luigi games but on Game Builder Garage if I don’t get Sued by Nintendo that is.

Great list I respect your opinion on this I really love this game its one of my favorite paper Mario game ever like the music is fantastic tbh I think the music in this game is also my favorite in the whole paper Mario series the bosses in this game are amazing especially scissors of being one the my favorite boss fight in any paper Mario game the battle system in this game might not be the best paper Mario battle system In this game I find it kinda fun I like this battle system more then sticker star and color splash battle system the open worlds in this game are fun I think Olivia is an amazing character and has a lot of adorable moments I think olly is a good villain I can agree why he became a villain is kinda stupid of I like him he also haves a good design and I am glad we’re not fighting bowser again good list and I’m excited for the next video have a good day.

7-Prologue, still felt refreshing though
6-Chapter 3, like the aestethic but it is not replayable and it has the worst dungeons and bosses imo (yes the bobby section is good but it doesn't strike as hard after the first playthrough)
5-Chapter 6, I like the shooter section and the stappler fight, but the origami castle is too short and the final boss is disappointing imo
4- Chapter 1, liked the bosses and the final tower especially, otherwise it's a bit generic... Still great though
3-Chapter 5, aaaah we're getting in the really good stuff. Obviously Scissors is great, Bowser's Castle is amazing, and I liked the Shy Guy Quizz. However, the jungle section dragged a bit imo and the lack of a volumental temple and bossfight bumped it down a bit.
2-Chapter 4, Zelda The WindWaker is my favorite Zelda game. What else do I have to say ? No seriously, the great sea is so refreshing and offers so much freedom, it's amazing. The bosses are above the rest as well, the Ice volumental and it's temple were really cool (pun intended) and the sky tower or whatever it's called at the end is my favorite dungeon in the game. Plus the Tape fight was really good.
1-Chapter 2, for me, it has the greatest qualities. The areas are the best in my opinion, with Shogun studios' versatility and minigames, Autumn mountains plateforming sections and god tier aestethic, and finally the Water velumental temple's great puzzles (my favorite out of the 4 temples).
The dynamic between Olivia, Mario and Bobby also felt really sweet and it's what reminded me the most of PM64 and TTYD partners dynamic. The show at the end was also a highlight for me, and a great buildup to the Rubber Band fight (which had one of the more creative boss designs, and is overall a great fight for me).
But we can't talk about world 2 without bringing up the music. MY GOSH THE MUSIC. Autumn Mountain, Shogun Studios and The Elastic Entertainer are my top 3 favorite OST from this game. It really helps giving these moments personnality, and it made going through Autumn Mountain with Bobby my favorite moment of the game. Thank you, Chapter 2, you were a blast all the way through.

Idea in Paper Jam after you defeat the Bowser duo for the first time you unlock the music player so you should try ranking every song/tune/jingle in the music player it has things like the new item get sound witch is a jingle

I understand this is a random place to post my opinions about paper Mario TTYD but I wanted to share my thoughts about the chapters after my second play through of the game. Firstly although the back tracking is still a bit annoying I found chapter 4 to be more enjoyable than the first time I played the game. I found chapter 6 less enjoyable due to already knowning the murder mystery. I also found chapter 8 less enjoyable due to how dragged out it is. I especially noticed this after playing OG Paper Mario before my second play of Paper Mario TTYD. It took me 2 hours to complete chapter 8 in TTYD while deliberately avoiding enemies. While it only took me about an hour and a half to beat chapter 8 in the original game playing casually.
Replaying a game is super important to see how the game actually is and you understand so much more from doing it
This is a great list, I am shocked about how much your opinion has changed, while I do disagree, I respect your opinion, also I am glad you still love the scissors boss because that fight is one of the best fights in the series imo. Great video overall, and I am excited for the next video

You should rank every area in the game. For example the spas in Shangri spa, the islands, the vellementell temples, ect, i know it seems like a hard task but to make it easier put the areas in a tier list, and rank each teir.

@@ShroobInvader I guess that’s one of the problems with color splash not being open world😂 but I do think there are two things you could do. The first option is that the world just ends after you get a paint star and then a new one starts. The second option (and option I think would work better) is that……well have you ever noticed that the map in color splash is actually color-coded. All the levels sharing the same color would be in the same “world”. You could also do that. Although if you did just wanna rank all the levels in the game I wouldn’t stop you😁 (i’m totally not saying this because I have a bias with color splash being my favorite paper Mario game since it was my first one)

I finally finished the temple of shrooms after being stumped on a puzzle for 5-6 months the one where you hit the buttons with the triangles.
But all you had to do was make a star ☠️ well glad you finally can experience the rest of the game lol

I like your ranking! Mine would go like this:
7. Prologue (not much here, I usually count this as part of world 1.)
6. Origami Castle (this is just another vellumental temple for me, a bit too short with a lot of it blurring together in my mind.)
5. World One (has a few fun parts like the koopa stones and the big tower, but overall pretty uninteresting.)
4. World Five (this area has always felt a bit shorter than some of the others to me, probably because there's no vellumental temple. However, kamek is great, the spring of jungle mist is cool, Shy guys finish last is fun, and bowsers castle is... honestly kinda creepy. This is the first really great world.)
3. World Four (probably a controversial opinion, but I found the battles here to be annoying, the vellumental temple was in a really weird spot, and a lot of stuff was just confusing. With that said though, I love the open world boat exploration, the Mushroom island cutscene, and all of the different objectives on each island.)
2. World Two (This place is awesome. Everything from Bobby to the water temple to the house of tricky ninjas to the play... but the chestnut Valley sequence and some of the backtracking is annoying.)
1.World Three (In my opinion, this does the open world concept better than world 4, and that's because of three things: one is that you don't have to fight many battles , you can just ram into everything. The second one is that there are a mix of more compact areas and open areas, making the points of interest, well.... more interesting! And the third reason is Proffessor Toad. Not only does he allow you to see where all the collectibles are instead of just wandering around aimlessly, and he presents a risk-reward system since to collect the items, you'll need to leave your car.... he is also integrated into the world's story. This is the only world to have a story, and while it is simple, it ties everything together and make you feel like you solved a mystery.)
10:59 I cannot wait for that later video! You already know that I have a lot of problems with the ending of this game😅 but but my biggest problem with the ending is olly himself. In my opinion the final boss is very anti-climactic I have said that before but that’s not my biggest problem. My biggest problem is Ollys motivation for being evil. The entire reason he turned to evil in the first place…… is because a toad wrote on him…. And he didn’t even bother to read what the writing said….. I don’t think you have to be a genius to already understand the problems with his motivation. It is so stupid! Olly basically being a racist and wanting to kill all toads is an interesting idea but they don’t do enough with it. Olly barely even gets any screen time to be honest. If I were to rewrite his motivation I would’ve made it so that he would’ve been abused by his dad (the toad that folded him). That motivation would’ve been a way stronger and we actually would’ve understood where he was coming from. And then after the final boss where he finally realizes all the mistakes he’s made, that could’ve been so powerful. I know that this is a Mario game and it shouldn’t get THAT dark but i’m sorry his motivation in the game is so stupid almost to anything could’ve been better😂
Yeah its really dumb and I agree, the actual final boss fight got worse which is what I was talking about though

Your favorite is my least favorite 😂😂😂. It was the first time, it still was the third time. I cannot stand how long it takes to find/collect/travel. I found myself wanting to click on areas on the map to skip the stupid boat ride. NO, absolutely the worst for me, but it’s just my opinion 🤷♀️🤦♀️.
I did get the upgrade for the boat, still annoying to travel on a boat that long. Not the biggest fan of water levels on Mario games though…just wanted to clarify. 😬

Personally my least favorite world in the game is The purple streamer. I cannot express to you how much I hate it! I got lost so many times going around the ocean in that stupid boat and I had no idea where I was supposed to go. It also doesn’t help that my Wi-Fi was down when I was playing it so I couldn’t even look up where I was supposed to go. In my opinion it’s tedious boring and frustrating and easily the worst chapter in the entire game! Funnily enough it’s followed by my favorite chapter in the game. The green streamer is super fun and the idea of heaven being a spa is really funny to me. Kamek and bowser jr are the best partners in the game by their dialogue alone. But there is one thing about this chapter that I absolutely despise. I hate shy guys finish last. It comes out of literally nowhere and it feels completely out of place and the story comes to a crashing halt because of it. It also doesn’t help that it’s not even fun. And what makes it 10 times worse is that it’s a complete rip off of snifit or whiffit which is infinitely better and had way more charm. Other than shy guys finish last the green streamer is without a doubt my favorite chapter in the game. The whole heaven is a spa idea is really cool and the ending of the chapter is really good

I dont like the beggining of blue streamer, it gets good at shogun studios, the red stream was boring, the jungle spa, GODD**M IT SUCKS bowsers castle was verygood, idl the beetle fight, also wtf is the flower pedels for? Just cosmetic?Most of the songs are GOOD. My favs are Shogun studios, exploring attumn mtn, exploring the sea, origami castel, unsettling battle, and snif city

Not in this game. The first 3 games have chapters while the other 3 have worlds
@@ShroobInvader I miss chapters every world used to tell a little story in previous Paper Mario games and although modern games sorta do that as well, it's never nearly as interesting.
