I’m so glad you mentioned teaching children chess especially since the Hadith are against this It is such a complex game and requires a lot of patience and thinking skills to master. My granddaughter learned how to play at seven and is quite good. Since then she has also improved in school.

الحمد لله رب العالمين You are looking much better than the last time seen, that is due to ALLAH mercy, I would like to suggest here that there is a channel on youtube that deals with this task which is the understanding of of meaning of words through a process of finding meanings words through going to their root letters under the name of Instructor Benjamin Bilal, in which he uses a method he names as Nunetics, I , just a suggestion, think it is useful towards this task,

When we start learning maths, we'll be taught that 2-5 is impossible, because 5 is greater then 2 and can't be deducted. However, we can still learn best possible all we were challenged with, and we'll be math experts on that level. Then, when we go to the next level we'll learn that 2-5 is possible and other things all upto that square root of a negative number doesn't exist. Again, we can master all the subject we're learning and became experts on that level. Then, again, we'll come to the next level and learn about irrational number and that a square root of a negative is possible (even not rational)... and so on.
What I'm trying to say is that any learning is a process, which has many levels. This is what a student of anything has to keep in mind all the time, otherwise he'll be lost. Thus, when we start learning the Qur'an we should know that we're on the basic level and all we can learn on it is basic and there's no much difference if we're using this or that translation. If our goal is to progress and level-up we'll master the basics as we can and then search for better ways to learn the Qur'an on higher level.
The highest possible level is probably not reachable for any of us. That level is sidret-ul-muntehaa, from which Resoolullah was seeing Allah without obstacles we have. But we can reach high levels below sidret, on which Allah as our Rabb can teach us all we don't know by qalem. We should know that it's teaching by the Qur'an alone, which er-Rahman is teaching and creating a (real) human.
So, a choice of translation is not much important and none is correct. One should strive, if he wishes, to progress in his learning process. He has to stay open-minded and not arrogant, to come to the Qur'an as its student not its teacher.

Sawm does not mean " fast " , it means " steadfast " , to be steadfast in the way which God has shown in the Quran.
Fasting is a pagan ritual, it's forbidden in the Quran. There are no rituals in Islam / Quran .
